The last things Caelen saw before Dragon's fist slammed against his crown were Adrianna's dull blue eyes, laced with horror and possibly, a little bit of love.

Adrianna rushed to his side, sinking down next to him as Dragon slapped his biceps and rejoiced. A silent tear slid down her cheek as she watched blood seeping out of his head. She let her gaze flit to Dragon and spotted the metal spike lodged on a ring in his finger which had presumably caused the wound.
The crowd thickened around Cobra and his companion, the businessman who bet on him among them. Fear for his life filled Adrianna's stomach and she grabbed the pocket knife he had on him, raising it to the group of men.
"Stay away." Her fingers trembled against the blade and the men laughed at her.
They started to advance towards her, a murmer spreading amongst them.
Was Cobra dead?
"Stay away!" She gritted her teeth and screamed, wielding the knife at them.
The men didn't look so afraid of the weapon, as they did of the expression on the girl's face. And with one last look, the men and the businessman left Adrianna alone.
Alone with a bleeding Caelen.
