3rd person p.o.v
"NAME?!" a tall man towered above you. "(Y/n) (L/n) sir" you barked back at the bald man, your right hand scrunched up into a fist above your heart, the other behind your back.
His name was Keith shadis, wrinkles covered his face and he had dark circles around his eyes. He looked down at you, you stared back at him, not a single trace of fear was found in your (e/c) orbs.
"YOU ARE FROM WHERE?!" He still shouted but not as loud as before. "Shiganshina district sir!" You said and wiped trace of spit off your cheek that shadis had so kindly deposited on you earlier.
The intimating man nodded and stalked over to his next victim. Charlie sage. You sighed a little and looked over at the boy to your left. You could tell just by looking at him he was a few feet taller than you, he had thick mahogany locks that curled at the end, piercing green eyes, like emeralds and his cheeks were dusted with freckles.
The boy shadis was now shouting at was your best friend, also from the shiganshina district. You had known him since you were six, when you and your mother decided to take a trip down to the bakery, that is when you first met him.
The smell of fresh bread and sweet pastry was mouthwatering. Charlie's father owned that bakery, you became friends after a few weeks of you running to the bakery and buying your mother bread. You both have been inseparable since then.
You were then brought back from your thoughts when Charlie yelled,
"SHIGANSHINA DISTRICT SIR" Charlie held his fist over his heart. Shadis nodded as if he new what we had gone through and moved to the next person. Armin arlert.
You knew this boy from your former district too, you never spoke to him but you knew of him, and his friends mikasa Ackerman and eren jaeger. Armin had dark blue eyes and golden locks that were styled into a bob. He stood a inch or two taller than you. You were quite short, but you could use that against others.
Shadis had passed a few other trainees, after interrogating them of course. Jean kirstien, eren jaeger, mikasa Ackerman, Reiner Braun, bertoldt Hoover, Annie leonhart, Marco bodt, Connie springer, Sasha blouse, krista lenz, Ymir ect....
Sasha, had been caught eating a potato and now was told to run laps of the grounds until the sunset.
Your p.o.v
"ALRIGHT CADETS, AS ITS GETTING DARK YOU MAY RETREAT TO THE MESS HALL FOR DINNER" shadis shouted and all the trainees started to walk to the mess hall.
Charlie skipped over to me, "you didn't look scared at all!!! And when you wiped the spit off your face, I almost died" he chuckled. "You on the other hand, looked petrified" (petra-fied.....sorry I'll just go) I giggled. We reached the mess hall that was already half full, I noticed at table no one was sitting at and grabbed and tray and sat down.
Charlie followed behind me and sat across from me. Eren, armin and mikasa had entered the mess hall and looked for a place to sit, after grabbing their trays they walked over to my table. "Hi!" I chirped, armin smiled a little and eren scratched the nape of his neck. "May we sit here? There's no where else...." Mikasa asked.
"Of course!" I smiled and patted the bench. Mikasa sat next to me and armin and eren sat next to Charlie. "I'm (Y/N), nice to meet you....And that's Charlie" I looked over to Charlie who nodded his head at them. "Oh we know who you are! I'm armin and that's mikasa and eren" armin pointed to his friends.
"I've seen you guys before, I never went up and talked to you though" I smiled sheepishly. A blush spread across Armin's cheeks. "Are you okay?" I asked eyes widened. "Y-yeah I'm...I'm fine just hungry, yeah hungry that's all" he picked up his wooden spoon and started eating his soup. I shrugged and ate my stale bread and bland soup. Eren spat out his bread "I miss jack sages bakery's bread"
I looked over to Charlie who was staring down at his bread "me too...." He muttered and finished his soup. I gave him an apologetic look and he smiled back at me.
"I'm sorry-" eren looks over at him. "It's fine, we all lost people" Charlie smiled. "Anyway. It's really nice to meet you guys, I hope we can become friends" Charles added. Mikasa and armin nodded. So did eren.
After we finished our food, a swarm of trainees surrounded us. They start asking us about the attack and about the Titans. "Exactly how tall was he? The colossal Titan?!" One boy asked. "He stuck his head over the wall...." Eren replied. "Oh I heard he stepped over the wall completely" another person added. "So did I!" Someone else butted in. "That was the rumor in my village too!!" Piped up another. "Nah he was big.....but not that big" eren said blandly. "What did it look like?!" Someone asked.
"It had a mouth like a corpse no skin just muscles" Charlie decided to participate in the conversation. I sighed and looked over to armin who just shrugged.
"And the armour Titan? The one that broke through wall Maria" a guy asked. "Is that what they're calling it? In all the panic it was just another Titan to me" eren sighed.
"No way! So what were they like?" Someone asked. I look over at eren who dropped his spoon into his soup, he places his hand over his mouth and shakes a little.
"come on that's enough questions all right. I'm sure they would rather not re-live everything they went through" a boy, called Marco bodt (aka freckled Jesus)
Stopped everyone asking questions. He gave us a small smile. "Sorry we didn't mean to-" Connie springer gets cut short as eren continues to speak "it's not like that stupid Titans. They are not that big of a deal if we focus on mastering the gear they give us, then it's and payback time......" Eren continues on about how he wants to join the scout regiment.
"Hey are you crazy or something?" I look over and see a boy with two toned hair, Jean. "Not that it's my business but signing up for recon is like a death sentence" he adds. I look over to eren looks angry, he bickers with Jean for a few seconds. "Do you wanna fight?!" Eren adds and stands up, so does Jean. The walk closer to each other and suddenly the bell rings, signaling dinner is over and it's time to go back to our bunks.
" hey I'm sorry," Jean says and reaches out his hand. Eren nods but instead of shaking his hand, he slaps it out of the way. Eren soon leaves with mikasa and armin following behind. "See you tomorrow (Y/n)!" Armin says and runs out the door.
Charlie walks and and I follow, I feel someone's gaze on my back. "Um excuse me?" I turn around and see Jean standing there looking a little flustered, a blush tinting his cheeks. I smile a little at him and his Blush turns deeper. "I've um....never seen anyone like you...you are really beautiful" he splutters out. I give him a close eyed smile. "Thank you....Jean" I leave following Charlie.
We walk over to eren and mikasa, "-it's gonna get in the way when we get our 3DMG" eren flicks mikasa's hair. "How short should I go?" She asks "are you cutting your hair?" I ask mikasa, she nods. "I can do it for you!" I add in, she smiles "thank you".
We part our ways and mikasa and I walk to our dorm rooms, she walks inside and I spot a tired Sasha on the floor. I reach into my pocket and take out a loaf of bread and container of water. Sasha imminently jumps up and grabs the bread gnawing at it.
"Sorry there isn't more, that's all I could get" I smile at her, she turns to me "hey you should drink water first" I add in. She grabs me and shouts loudly "you're a goddess aren't you!!?"
I stare at her in shock and see Ymir walking nearer to us. "Why are you helping potato girl?" She asks coldly. "Well she's been without food or water all day" I say shyly. "Oh you were being nice....I expected that from krista, not you" she lifts up Sasha. "Are you being nice?" I question. "No... I'm just doing it so she will owe me one in the future"
"Oh" I stand up and lift the other side of Sasha and we drag her into the dorms, we set her on a bed and continue with our nightly routines. I slept in the bottom bunk of one of the beds in the corner of the dorm, mikasa slept on the top bunk. That night I couldn't get any sleep, the same scene kept replaying itself in my head.
"Mommy we have to go!!!" I shouted tears streaming down my face, "I'll be right there (Y/n)!, Charles...take her and go!!" My mother shouted as she tried to lift open the roof of the bakery that had once stood tall. Charlie's father was inside and my mother would stop at nothing to save her friend.
Charles grabbed hold of me and started running away. I looked up, tears blurring my vision, to see a Titan that grasped my mother. "No!!!!" I screamed, but it was too late. My mother had already been devoured by the man eating creature. It then started to rummage through the ruble of the bakery.
I looked up, Charlie's eyes were red as he continued to run to the boats. The garrison soldiers guided us to the boats. One of them pushed us on the close up the gate. The boat then started to sail a long, I clung to Charlie and cried. I've lost my family, all of them. Gone. .....
