We returned back at dusk and I jogged to my house. I got inside and saw my dad was on Skype. I walked over to the table where my mom and sister where crouded.
"Hey there princess! I miss you! how are the horses?" he said cheerfully.
"Good. I miss you too." I reply
"Girls we need to talk before I log off. Meghan, can you tell them? their already mad at me..." he trailed off.
my mother looked at us. "Girls, your adopted. my friend Crystal Smith is your real mother. I'm so sorry for not telling you." they said the last bit together.
I looked at Marie. Her small face went from pale to bright red. She scrunched her fists till her hands where white. She looked at my dads face on the screen, her blue eyes cold.
She opened her mouth as if to say something and turned around and let out an ear piercing scream. an aggravated one. She stomped up the stairs and slammed the door.
"Great one guys. you know just how to piss us off. Just one question. Do you enjoy making our life a living hell? because it sure seems like it. and if you do, congratulations. You succeeded." I followed Marie suit. I was over it.
I opened my bedroom door to find Marie sitting on my bed. She needed my comfort. how do I know? because anytime she was sad, mad, or anything else, she came to my room, sat in my bed, and waited for me.
I sat on my bed and pulled her into my lap. She hugged me for a while and then stood up. lightly holding each others hand, we walked out of the house to the barn. Slipping on our tack, we flopped into the saddles and walked out if the barn. we opened the gate to the paddock and took off at full speed. I jumped the back fence and halted, waiting for Marie. We trotted over to Jordan's where Marie decided to stay. Jordan trotted out of her barn and rode with me. it began to pour down rain, but we just rode on. We began to hear shouts. Knowing they where coming for us, we nudged our horses into a gallop.
After 20 minutes she pulled to a stop and looked at me. "I don't know about you but I'm going back. I'm sorry but they need to find us."
I kept my mouth shut and resumed my gallop, in the opposite direction of Jordan. I heard Jordan telling them where I had gone and a bunch of shouts before I heard a set of hooves following me. only one set. I galloped faster and cleared a fallen tree. For some reason, I slowed down, letting him catch up to me. He shouted my name and I felt myself hit the ground. His voice sounded once more, calling my name, before blackness overtook me.
