August was finally out of the hospital and I think I was more excited for him to be home than he is. Ms. Sheila and Kaliyah were coming back the day after tomorrow which gave him a bit more time to heal. I knew Ms. Sheila was going to have a fit once she found out about August being in the hospital but August told me that she would understand why I didn't tell her. Plus it's not like he told her either.

"Be careful," I told him after he winced in pain once laid back on my bed. He still couldn't do a lot of moving around so I was going to be on call for whatever it was that he needed.

"I'm good, you don't have to baby me."

"I'm not babying you. I'm looking out for you. Do you need anything, want anything? Are you hungry?Do you want something to drink? Do you have to-"

"Come here," he cut me off and patted the empty space on the bed. I walked over to the bed and instead of sitting just stood.

"Yes?"

"Lay down with me."

I smiled at his request and did as he asked. I laid as close to him as possible without causing him any pain and we lay in silence for a while the both of us lost in our own thoughts. Or at least I was because I was brought back to reality when I heard the flicker of a lighter and noticed him sparking a blunt that I don't know where he got from.

"Seriously? Do you think you need to be smoking that in your condition?"

He ignored me and took a pull anyway and blew it out before answering me, "This is grade A shit right here. I knew who grew it, I know what's in it unlike them pills the doctor told me I need to take which fuck up my appetite."

"You may have a point about that," just from the week in the hospital he probably lost ten pounds and that wasn't much but it was noticeable on him since he was already so thin.

"What you trying to say?"

"Your so skinny," I poked his arm.

"I'm not that skinny and stop poking me. It ain't my fault your ass is getting fat."

"Excuse me?"

"What, I meant that as a compliment but forreal your ass is getting fat. Come to think about it, you been eating a lot lately. You haven't been feeling nauseous have you?"

"What are you hinting at?"

"You may be pregnant," he smirked.

"No."

"Yea. It's what I was trying to do that last night we were together."

"So...you were purposely trying to get my pregnant, when you knew there was a possibility that you could die?"

"I wasn't thinking I was going to die, on the real I just wanted to get you pregnant."

"Well I'm not pregnant so can we change the subject."

"What do you wanna talk about?"

"How do you feel, about everything that happened. About everything Mace said?"

I needed to know that he was okay mentally after he confessed what Mace told him while he had him at gunpoint. When I asked him if he was okay he said he was but I just wanted to make sure.

"I feel betrayed honestly, I thought I knew him but in reality I ain't know him at all. It's fucked up but I'm glad he's dead. What about you?"

"I'm fine and I don't regret pulling the trigger. He deserved what he got."

"He did."

"Who was that girl," I asked him, "The one that was holding the gun to the back of your head?"

"Tammy."

"Who?"

"Some bitch I hired to keep an eye on Mace and get close to him."

"Like I did?"

"Yea. The dumb hoe ended up catching feelings for him and turned on me."

I shook my head and was just glad that I got to the house when I did.

"I'm just glad this shit is all over."

"So then it's really over?"

"It's really over."

"And did you mean what you said, about going legit?"

I watched him closely making sure I monitored his reaction to my question. He licked his lips and looked away from me taking another hit from his blunt before putting it out. His reaction told me all I needed to know.

"So you lied?"

"I ain't lie. I just-what am I supposed to do? I never had a real job in my life, I don't have no college degree."

"You can do lots of things. You can expand the sneaker shop, build another one or even build something else. It's not like we don't have the money."

He nodded like he was thinking about it, "But build something like what?"

"Like whatever we want. With Mace dead all of his assets are going to be up for grabs I'm sure. You can buy his club or his restaurants, flip them and cater them to you. Or you can do something different, you like music, maybe you can build a studio."

"A studio. You can put out a mixtape, I'm sure you'll have a huge fan base in no time. Instead of plain old August you can become August Alsina, r&b sensation. You can get a record deal and tour all over the world."

"And where would you fit into all this?"

"What do you mean? I can be one of your backup dancer, that way I'll be able to keep an eye on you. They can look but they can't touch and the only person you'll be feeling on and giving out lap dances to is me."

"I'm good where I am."

"Well I was just giving an example. You can do literally anything you want, it's ultimately up to you but as long as the money is legal and you stay out of trouble. You have the name and the face and just because you don't have a college degree doesn't mean anything. But best of all you have me, your future wife who has a bachelor's degree in business and accounting."

"Best of all huh?"

"Yes. We can literally change the city for the better."

I looked at him and I could see he was in deep thought and was thinking what I said over. He knew it was a good idea, instead of using the money for our own gain we could use it to do good things in our community.

When I spotted Kaliyah in the airport I couldn't help but to smile and rung over to greet her. She was just as happy to see me as I was her but when she seen her dad she tried to run and jump on him but I had to stop her.

"Daddy isn't feeling to well so he can't pick you up."

"What's wrong," she asked him.

"Nothing, my stomach just hurts but I missed you," he told her bent down to hug her and kiss her.

"I missed you to daddy."

I let them talk and walked over to Ms. Sheila and took some of the bags from her. Of course when she saw August she immediately knew something wasn't right. So I had to women up and tell her the truth, I didn't go into detail but I just told her that he was shot. I could see the emotion on her face but I could see how relieved she was to see him up and about.

We loaded the car with their bags and I got into the drivers seat just as August put the GPS back onto the dashboard.

"I know how to get home," I told him.

"Just follow the directions."

I did as he said and we drove for about thirty minutes until we got right outside the city and into a suburban area. The GPS led us to a brick house with a four car garage and a long driveway. There was a car already in the driveway and after I parked the front door open and August's lawyer, Mr. Shaw stepped outside.

"I gotta sign some papers but we can all go in."

I cut the car off and we all stepped out the car and I greeted August's lawyer and he showed up inside. The house was beautifully decorated and had a winding staircase and dark wood floors.

"I have some food and drinks in the kitchen if you guys are hungry," Mr. Shaw told us.

"Where is the kitchen," Ms. Sheila asked because this place was huge. When he showed us the kitchen it was love at first sight.

"I need the name of his decorator," Ms. Sheila told me and I couldn't help but agree. We gave August and his lawyer some privacy and stayed in the kitchen which had a view of the backyard. On one side there was a pool blocked off by a gate and on the other side was a grassy area.

"Do you like it," August asked.

"You scared me," I turned around to face him, "Like what?"

"The house?"

"It's beautiful. Whenever we do move I wan our house to look just like this."

"You do?"

"Yes."

"There's no need."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean...if you like it then it's ours."

"How can it be ours when someone obviously already lives here? It's fully decorated."

"I told the decorator what I wanted and they made it happen."

"So your telling me when I ramble on about random stuff you actually listen," I asked referring to me telling him about how I wanted a house with a winding staircase and dark wood floors.

"I do."

"Are you serious. This place is really ours?"

"The sooner you sign these the sooner it will be."

He held up some papers and a pen and when he handed over the papers and I looked them over I realized that he wasn't lying. All I had to do was sign my name and this place was ours.

"Wait. How much is this house?"

"Will you just sign the paper please."

I did as he asked and signed my name and then August did the same and just like that it was official, this place was really ours. I didn't want to act a fool while Mr. Shaw was her but once he left I was running around the house exploring and I wasn't the only one who was happy about their new home. Kaliyah screamed her heart out once she saw her room.

The house had six bedrooms in all and four and a half bathrooms. Almost every room was decorated and I was in love with the décor in the master bedroom. On top of that the bathroom had a huge jacuzzi tub and a huge glass shower.

After we were done exploring we all sat around in the living room and filled in Ms. Sheila and what all went down while she and Kaliyah were away. August told her everything she needed to know but left out the part about Mace killing his dad, her husband.

"You think you know people," she shook her head, "Well I should get home."

"Or you can stay, there's plenty room."

"You should enjoy your first night in your house. Plus I need to get back home and water my plants."

August walked her out and while he did I stepped into the kitchen because I was hungry. When August walked into the kitchen holding Kaliyah's hand I couldn't help but smile.

"So we got the house, now all that's left to do is make this official. You ready to change your last name?"

"I am."

"How about in the next two months."

"Two months? What's the rush?"

"The sooner we get married the sooner we can start working on baby number two then three, then-"

"Slow your role," I held up my hand to cut him off.

"I didn't buy this big ass house for nothing."

"Bad word," Kaliyah pointed out to him.

"My bad," he apologized to her then smiled at her, "But don't you want a little brother or sister? Someone to play with?"

"Wait-," I started.

"Yess," Kaliyah nodded then with wide eyes looked at me as if she knew it was up to me, "I want a baby sister but it's okay if I have a baby brother I guess."

"Don't worry, you can have both," August smiled at her and then looked at me, they both looked at me and I felt like they were backing me into a corner.

"So do I have a say in this," I asked looking between the two of them.

"Nope," August shook his head, "So I suggest you start preparing because two months we'll be here before you know it and I'm sure you don't want to walk down the aisle pregnant. One down, five to go."

He referred to his six kids that he wanted me to push out.

"You lost a lot of blood, are you sure it even works," I referred to his package.

"We can test it out after Kaliyah goes to sleep, we can get a head start," he smirked and if Kaliyah wasn't in the kitchen and if he was in good condition I wouldn't mind taking him up on his offer but since she was and he wasn't.

"I rather not and I'm not having six kids."

"I told you I want six kids and you and I both know I get what I want," he kissed my cheek and then kissed my lips and when he pulled away, and gave me a look as if he could read my mind. I knew that without a doubt in less than two months I would be pregnant and the thought made me smile.

I didn't think I could have six kids but you never knew what the future had in store for you. When I first met August all those years ago I never thought that we would be where we were today. We were engaged an we were doing it right this time and I'm sure nothing and no one could get in between us again. We both made mistakes but I had no regrets, I happy happy and I knew that things could only get better from here.
