School. Seven days of torture with lots and lots of homework. Boring teachers drone on and on about something that I didn't care about. I usually slept through my classes, though this class wouldn't let me sleep.

I groaned and leaned back in my seat, wanting to get out of here. I just wanted to get to gym, the only class that I was good at. I was even better than the nerd that was up in front of the class. I opened my eyes and stared at her, ignoring the look that our teacher was giving us.

"Mr. Peterson," my teacher snapped, and I looked up at him. There was a frown on his face, and I wondered how long he had been looking at me. "Do you want to be moved next to Miss Pierce?" he asked, shooting her a look when she snorted. "What is it, Miss Pierce?"

"I do not think that he will be able to work up here, Mr. Reeves," she replied. She turned to look at me, her gray eyes filled with disgust. "I think he will just be turned around staring at the clock." She turned to look at him. "In the back, he will not be able to look at it."

"Ya, like that, will happen," I said, sarcastically. "Why don't you just move back here?"

"For you to cheat off of me?" She laughed, sounding annoying with her nasally laugh. "I will not do that. Thanks for the offer, though."

"Didn't need your help," I muttered. "Who would want to hang out with a witch."

The female, Bailey, smiled before turning around. "I don't know about you, but I don't want to hang out with an ass."

"Congratulations," Mr. Reeves said, sarcastically. "Since you two find it interesting to interrupt my class, you will be working together on this history project together!"

"What?!" we exclaimed, both shocked for different reasons.

"But, Mr. Reeves, this is a huge part of my grade," she said. "I am still trying to get into Juilliard and need as many scholarships as I can get."

"And he needs his grades up before he gets kicked out of high school," he replied. "Think of this and tutoring him as... extracurricular activities."

"Tutoring!?!" we yelled, and the whole class started to laugh.

The bell rang, signaling the end of class, and I couldn't help but glare at the nerd's back. I watched as she bolted out of the classroom and as far and fast away as she could get.

"We will be talking about the projects more in-depth tomorrow!" Mr. Reeves yelled. "But think of a person who you want to work with!"

By the end of the day, I was really pissed. I didn't want to study with her, but I knew that I had to. My football coach seemed pleased that she was tutoring me and kept telling me not to judge her too quickly. He had said something about there being more to her than her nerdish look.

"Hey!" Bailey exclaimed when I grabbed hold of her and pulled her into a janitor's closet. She looked around and frowned, wondering why she was in here. "Kinky, and you aren't the person that I would let inside of me." She turned to look at me, clutching a book close to her body.

"Whatever," I grunted, folding my arms across my chest. "Look, you need to do the whole project by yourself. I can't do it with my busy schedule."

She scoffed. "Busy?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "Do you even know what busy is?" She waved her hand dismissively. "Besides playing football and being an ass, I don't think you have anything else to do."

"Well, busier than you," I snapped. "All you do is probably just read."

She narrowed her eyes. "What do you know about me?" she asked, darkly. She took a step forward, and I couldn't help but take a small one back. "You know nothing about me. All you see is the nerd, and that is all you will see from me." There was a threat in her voice, and I couldn't help but feel unnerved. "We will meet tomorrow at seven in the morning for your tutoring and then right after school for the project. I will not do this by myself. Do you understand?"

I rolled my eyes and scoffed, trying to hide the fact that she did scare me just a bit. "Ya, whatever," I muttered, planning on not showing.

"If you don't show, I can always tell Coach Barker to make practice harder on you," she said, shoving past me. She turned around and smirked, somehow turning darker than she was. "I could, also, get him to make you sit out until your grades are up there." She turned away and started to walk away.

"And how would you do that? You don't even know him!"

She turned back around and smirked, an evil glint in her eye. "He is an old family friend," she said. "I know him."
