Chapter 15: Closer Part 1
[Changkyun's POV]
I woke up to the sound of vibration my phone made against the wooden side table. I was about to get my phone to answer the call but something felt weird with my hand. I looked at it to see what happened.
*tug-tug... tug-tug... tug-tug...*
He had his head leaning on the side of the bed. He fell asleep again. I tried to move my hands slowly so he won't wake up but I failed. He slowly held his head up and yawned before looking at me.
"Oh? You're awake now."
He smiled at me. I nodded back as answer.
He smiled.
"Thank you for taking care of me."
*tug-tug... tug-tug... tug-tug...*
He tightened his grip on my hand before letting it go.
My fingers fit exactly to the spaces between his.
He stood up and carried the tray out of the room with the empty cup of ramen on it. I got myself up and went to bathroom to wash my face. When went I out, he was already there, sitting on the edge of the bed, waiting for me.
"Are you good?"
I asked him, pointing at his thighs. I know it hurts a lot since the cuts were deep.
"It stings but overall its fine."
"I'm going home now."
I said, taking my phone from the side table and kept it in my pocket.
"Can I walk you home?"
"No. Stay here and rest."
I refused his offer of walking me back home since its already dark outside plus he got injury on his thighs. I can take care of myself on my way there. He needs to rest so we can go to school tomorrow.
"Can I at least walk you downstairs?"
"Sure."
We exited his room and went downstairs. He walked beside me until we reached the front door. I opened it and stood outside.
"See you tomorrow at school."
"Thank you, Changkyun."
I took my leave. I could feel his eyes follow me until at the end of the street.
Thank you, Hoseok.
-
I arrived home safely. The clock on my phone says its 10:38pm. I didn't bother to wake up my mother but I left a note at the kitchen telling that I'm home. I also texted her when I got inside my room. Today is a very tiring day for me. I laid flat on my bed, thinking of Hoseok.
I wonder what he's doing right now.
I took out my phone and held it up on face. A notification greeted me.
[1 new message]
It's from Hoseok.
[From: Emo Hoseok :3
Thank you very much for taking care of me today. I know you're tired so I won't bother you anymore if you're already sleeping. Good night, Changkyun. :)]
I smiled at the message after reading it. I had second thoughts whether I'll reply or not but the latter prevailed.
[To: Emo Hoseok :3
It's okay. We can talk all night actually. I don't feel sleepy yet. You want to share something? :)]
Send.
I waited for a reply but I received something different. He called. I tapped the answer button and held the phone on my ear.
"Hello?"
"Hello?"
His voice sounded husky through the speaker. I liked it.
"Changkyun, thank you very much for taking care of me."
"It's nothing, actually."
"It may be nothing for you but it means a lot for me."
I know.
"What are you doing right now?"
"Aside from thinking of you, talking to you while playing with my pillows."
*tug-tug... tug-tug... tug-tug..."
"Can you tell me what happened?"
"Okay."
-=-
Morning came peacefully for me. We ended our conversation at around 1 o'clock since we have to sleep before we go to school later or else we'll be sleeping during the class.
He told me everything.
I came out of the room early. My mother saw me walk out of my room, her eyes widened at the sight. She rushed her way to me and then hugged me.
"Oh my god. Changkyun! Where have you been?!" she said, almost crying.
"You didn't read the note there?" I answered, pointing at the table on the dining room.
"No, I didn't."
"What about the messages I sent you?"
"No."
I sighed at her answers. Now I know why she reacted like this. She didn't read any of it that's why she didn't have a clue I arrived last night. But it seemed like she's okay now. I could feel here tensed body loosened up.
"Is the breakfast ready?" I asked.
"Yes. It's done. Let's eat."
We ate breakfast together, in which she bombarded me with questions in the process. She's that kind of mother that asks everything and doesn't leave a single piece of information unclear, so I ended up telling her all the things that happened after I left all the groceries yesterday. She fixed the table after we ate and I proceeded back to my room to prepare myself for school.
"Mom! Can you prepare a lunch for two?"
"What for?"
"I want to talk to him later."
"Okay. I'll prepare it now."
"Thank you, Mom."

[Wonho's POV]
I arrived at school early as always but this time, I went straight to the classroom. I can't walk properly yet so it took a lot of time before I got there. Some of my classmates that were already there eyed every step I made. When I reached my seat, I carefully sat there to prevent my thighs from bumping from the desk.
Changkyun's not here yet.
I slumped on my desk. A few minutes after, a heard the chair beside me move.
Changkyun!
I held my head up, my eyes beaming, expecting its Changkyun but a bouquet of flowers welcomed my face.
"What's this?"
I asked my classmate that brought the flowers.
"A student from another year sent it. It was for you."
"Send them back. I'm allergic to them."
My classmate walked away with the flowers. Actually I'm not allergic to them, I just don't like it. Maybe if it's from Changkyun, I'll buy a vase for it to place it in my room. When I was about to slump back, I noticed a small folded note on my table. I opened the note and read it.
"I hope you're just fine today. See you around. –M."
M? I don't know anyone whose name starts with M.
I trashed the note in my bag. When I turned back, Changkyun was already there in front, making his way to his seat.
Changkyun!
Seeing him made my heart race. I was so excited to be with him, sitting beside me. His bag looked big.
"How's your wound?" he greeted me with a question, referring to the cuts on my thighs.
"It's fine. I changed the bandage before I came here to school." I answered back.
He placed his things down and seated. He held his head down on the desk.
"Are you okay?" I asked him.
"Yes. I just need more sleep."
The thoughts of talking to him before class started fading. The excitement I felt on seeing him faded slowly too.
I'll just sleep too.
-
I was awakened when my seatmate shrugged my shoulders.
"Hey."
I yawned before I got up. He was looking at me.
"Don't sleep during class. Okay?"
He said, smiling at me. I don't know what happened but his words sounded dominant. I just followed what he said. I saw him scribbled something on his note before tearing it out and gave it to me.
-Lunch? :)
I smiled after reading the note. I quickly searched for a pen to reply.
=Sure! Where? :D
-I don't know the school that much. You know a place?
=Of course!
-Then it's set. :P
I don't know why but I'm looking forward for lunch now.

A/N: Sorry for the late and filler-ish update. As always, I divided it into parts so that most of you will wait for the fluffy chapters ahead (as most of you have noticed).
Anyway. Thank you for waiting. Please do vote and comment. I want to hear your thoughts about the story. :D
