The Music

The music.
I can hear it.
That gloriously calm, haunting melody of panic, pain, and despair.
It soothes my mind and soul.
Puts my cares at ease.
Takes me to another place.
A place where I know He awaits my arrival.
I can feel Him.
We are parts of the same damned soul.
He beckons me with His music.
Pulls me closer with every note.
Dulls all of the outside chaos.
The internal pressure is great.
I feel as if I may explode in anticipation thinking about what is in store for me.
I relish the visuals that plague my mind.
The music is louder now.
I know I should be concerned.
Frightened even.
I am indeed, quite the opposite.
The music grows again!
He is so close I can almost feel Him.
The world tilts and swirls around me.
Giddy!
Similar to a child with arms outstretched, spinning wildly.
All is lost from my sight.
Grayness.
My mind plays games.
Is that laughter?
Children?
Where are you?
LOUDER!
My skin is if on fire.
My heartbeat grows frantic.
My head pounds in time with the music.
That gloriously calming melody.
Wait!
I'm not ready!
Panic!
Confusion!
Resignation!
LOUDER!
He is here!
I see him!
LOUDER!
He takes me into His arms.
I swoon.
LOUDER!
I hear only His music.
He bestows His gracious gift upon me.
His kiss is all I sense.
Drawing the very breath from my body.
The music!
The kiss!
Silence.
Darkness.
Peace.
Calm.
He lays me down.
Drinks me in.
I am His.
The earth is all around me.
My dark confines protect me from the harsh reality previously known as life.
