It's really happening huh? As I stand here in front of all of you, I think of four things: the moment that happened in the past, the reality of what's happening today, the uncertainities of our future and where we are going to eat after this
To our beloved president, our effervescent principal, Administrators, honored guests, my dear teacher, non-teaching personnel, proud parents, guardians, relatives, friends and to the class of 2011. A Pleasent Afternoon.
Of all years that I have been writing, this speech had to be the most difficult one to write. Because according to my friends, not only do I have to make them cry while being funny,reminiscing, sentimental and unique, but I had to mention all of their names and make a special greeting for each other, but srsly, it's really hard to think of what to say when what you really mean is goodbye.
Fellow Graduates we are finally here, After the last 10 months of struggle, hardwork, stress and second thoughts on whether we'd really be able to graduate or not, we're finally here. We have vows, the seed of hardwork & more, we're ready to harvest. be proud of yourselves.
Today, we graduate not only from High School but from a very important portion of our lives. For after this, everything would change a lot, from flats to heels, from teachers to profesors, from DOTA to case study presentatives, from the way we think to the way we look, Boys, you no longer have to follow the 2x3 hair cut. Girls, you won't have to wear a chemise anymore. From now on we could all wear black socks. We could dye our hair pink. we could get a tattoo and we wouldn't get a violation report. But there are somethings that I would surely miss about High school, the rules have given us a sense of Christian Principle and now we have grown to be matured citizens of the Philippines.
It seems like it was just yesterday when I first entered this school. I remember grade school, like I remember the periodic table of elements. The embarrassing moments, the puppy love, the kimpy hairstyle, the bangs, the flashy lunchbox, the rubber shoes with heels, the high socks, the short horts and a lot of more. That was the time when cleaners actually clean their rooms and students were afraid to be late in class.
But nothing beats in High School. The matumal moments in the LRT(yung benches sa school), the intelligent planning of a diversion so that we wouldn't meet the Discipline Office, The time we tried so hard to memorize something but when the exams come, It doesn't really appear on the test. The efforts of persuasive negotiation with the teacher ust for them to postpone the quiz. Attending birthday parties even if you're not really close to the celebrant, getting ideas from other people's work, preparing for a classmate's or teacher's birthday surprise, the laughing till you cries, the making of group project DAW, the tropa problems, senti moments at the roof top, I'm pretty sure everybody would miss those things too. Sad to say, it wouldn't happen anymore. They would now remain as memories that we'd talk about.
For me, Graduation is both an end and a beginning. It is the culmination of years of hardwork but at the same time, it is when you start weaving your dreams of what you want to be class of 2011. all the years that we have been together from grade school through high school, we have achieved and accomplished so much. May these achievements be the foundation whereas you could take more than one course in college and graduate as often you like.
At this point, I would like to say some things to my fellow graduates. Whatever is your plan after this, always remember what our parents, our teachers reminded as "Study hard!Finish your studies and follow your parents" Because for sure, It would be for our benefit and after we graduate in college we will realize how important these reminders are,Always remember those who helped you when you were down for they are your true friends. Never forget to see the positive sides even though things aren't going the way you want them to go. Being alive is enough to be thankful for. Most importantly, put Christ in the center of your life and believe me you'll be successful no matter what career pursue.
And finally as Shakespeare would put it "parting is such a sorrow" so, cry if you can, laugh if you must and scream if you should.
And now ladies and gentlemen, the happiest, the most diverse, the most unified and most cooperative batch is now ready to take on the challenge of the real world and would definitely succeed. Congratulations, My friends. We are now GRADUATES ;) *bow*"
