Mason's POV
For 8 years old, I think I was doing okay. My cousin, Katelyn escorted me here so she knew I would be safe. Then right before she left, she handed me a dagger and said, "Use this only in emergencies." And she disappeared as if she wasn't even there.
Not unusual for me. She had been doing stuff like that for months now, but now it felt like something so simple.
I laid back on my bed. I had never thought I would get wrapped up in the magical world my cousin associated with, but I guess something has to happen in order for someone to protect this realm.
Katelyn, what can I do? What must I do?
The questions I wanted to her ask before she disappeared started to surface once again.
Why did you say not to trust those of home? And where is this home you are speaking of? Is it near or far? Is it in this world or the next?
