VALENTINE
"Ang panget - panget ng babaeng yon Val. Paano ba nagkagusto si Howard doon? Mas maganda kaya ako sa kanya!" Sabi ni Abby sabay flip hair niya.
"Ay wow, wag feelingera ate, meron pa ring mas maganda sayo." Sabat ni Jane at nagpose sa harap namin.
Kaya lang nabigla kami sa ginawa niya.
"Girls we run the world! Giiirrrlllss!!! Yeah! Girls we run the world! Yes the girls run the wooorrrllldd!!!!" Kanta niya tapos may sayaw-sayaw pa siya.
"Yeahhh!! We girls-ahhh!!" Hindi niya napansin na may tao sa harap niya.
Tawa kami nang tawa ni Abby.
"Hoy lalaki, hindi mo ba alam na- Oops." Napatigil sa pagsasalita si Jane nang nakita niya kung sino yung nabangga niya.
"Uh oh." Bulong ni Abby sa tabi ko.
Ohhh.. shit.
Because it happens that she stumbled upon a very pissed Howard and his friends who are laughing beside him. And when a-very-pissed-Howard-crashed-into-a-dancing-Jane-who-feels-like-Beyonce then a very pissed Howard evolves into A very FURIOUS Howard with smoke coming from his ears.
"What... Pagsimula Ni Rylie, naalala niyo pa Siya? Yung kaibigan Ni Howard? "Pray tell are, you doing Um... Girl?" He said nervously while glancing at Howard.
"Anong sinasabi mong Girl? At Hindi Mo ba alam ang ginagawa ko? It's called Dancing, Um... Boy?" Paggaya Ni Jane sa sinabi Ni Rylie kanina.
Nung una, Hindi alam Ni Rylie ang tinutukoy Ni Jane, kaya lang, Nung nagets Niya Yung tinutukoy Ni Jane, Biglang dinuro Ni Rylie si Jane. "You..."
"What?" Jane said mocking him.
"You!" Rylie was furious, was an under statement, Hindi na Ako magugulat kung may usok sa tenga Niya.
Susugudin na dapat niya si Jane, Nung may humarang sa daanan niya. "Woah... Chill dude, don't lose your cool. Alright?"
Of course, it was the Mighty J.J.J, King of Cools, well whatever, Hindi ko pa Yan nakitang nagagalit.
"Tabi nga J, papakita ko sa babaeng yan kung sinong magaling. Ang yabang eh!"
Biglang napatigil si J.J.J sa sinabi ni Rylie, bigla siyang lumapit kay Rylie at may binulong sakanya. Napatingin naman si Rylie saamin, at medyo kumalma na nang konti. Tapos biglang tumango si J.J.J sa direksyon ni Howard at itinuro niya ako. Bigla naman lumaki ang mata ni Rylie sa sinabi ni J.J.J at tumingin saakin.
Ano nanaman bang pinag-uusapan ng mga toh?
Aksidente akong napatingin sa direksyon ni Howard at nagulat ako sa nakita ko doon. Hindi ko kasi nakita ng malinaw ang mukha niya kanina, kaya lang ngayong napa-double take ako sa nakita ko sakanya.
Ang putla nang mukha niya, namumulang mata, bags under his eyes, and a PISSED OFF expression. He looked like a monster brought to life.
He glared at me when he noticed me looking at him. "See something interesting?" He growled at me. Gosh, even his voice sounds raspy. And despite it, I found it oddly sexy.
"You look like Hell." I replied and forced my expression to look like I was disgusted by him, even though it was exactly the opposite.
His face darkened when he saw my expression. Damn, I was already regretting what I just did.
"What? Not used to seeing my handsome face like this? Well, sorry to disappoint Ms. Watsons, some of us don't need to be picture-perfect all the time. Those kind of people are plastic Barbie dolls who spend all their time getting perfect and chasing over men who they're obsessing over."
I was clearly hurt over what he said. Kasi halatang ako yung pinapatamaan niya doon sa sinabi niyang yun.
Nakita naman ni Howard yung expression ko na nasaktan ako sa mga sinabi niya. Napangisi siya saakin, "What? is spoiled brat Valentine Watsons hurt by what I said?" He mocked me, "Poor baby.."
"Stop it Howard." Sabi naman ni J.J.J. na mukhang kinakabahan na sa susunod na sasabihin ni Howard.
"What? Totoo naman ah? Princess Val, hurt by what I said? This is epic."
Tears were prickling in the corner of my eyes now. "No." I whispered.
"Oh, is Val gonna cry now? That's it. Run to your mommy and daddy." He continued mocking me.
"Tumigil ka na nga!" Sigaw ni Abby at mukhang susugurin si Howard, kaya pinigilan siya ni Jane.
Yung mga kaibigan naman nina Howard, Hindi makatingin saamin. Parang pinababayaan lang nila na gawin ni Howard yun.
Ahh.. of course, leader nila si Howard kaya they are taking his side. Ang tanga mo talaga, Val.
Dahil alam kong hindi nila ako tutulungan, hinarap ko si Howard at pinunasan ang luha ko. "Oo, spoilt brat ako, oo magsusumbong ako kina mommy at daddy, at oo isa ako sa mga babaeng hinahabol ang lalaking gusto ko. Wala naman masama dahil crush lang naman kita Diba? Howard? Wag kang feeling, hindi pa naman kita mahal."
Liar, Liar, Liar.. halos mahal mo na nga siya.
"And also, don't be so arrogant Howard. Hindi lang naman ikaw ang gwapo sa mundo, Nick Bateman is so much hotter than you. You're just one boy, there are so much more better men than you."
It's so believable that I did all that with a straight face. Even Abby and Jane were so convinced, their faces were so priceless. As for Howard's friends, their jaws were hanging open to all that I said. Bet that no one ever said that to their precious Howard. Hmmm..
Ako kasi, kahit na crush ko si Howard, or in his words, Obsessed ako sakanya, hindi ako pumapayag na aapihin niya ako ng ganyan-ganyan lang. Guys, see this as a lesson, hindi porke't mahal mo ang isang tao, best friend mo siya, or something, Ay pababayaan mo siya na apihin ka. If meron kang opinyon na kailangang ipaglaban, ipaglaban mo. It's your word against them.
I am not some crazy stalker ni Howard, nor am I some weakling. Isa akong tao, kaya dapat hindi niya ako sinasabihan ng ganyan. Hindi porke't babae ako, at lalaki siya, tingin niya he is the one who dominates people who are under him. (technically, hindi naman talaga ako under sakanya kasi mas mayaman naman kami, pero I'm talking about men who think they are superior to women.) He is not Christian Grey, and I am not Anastasia Steele, I am not a submissive woman.
"Oh really?" Nakataas-kilay na sabi ni Howard noong pagkatapos kong sabihin iyon lahat sakanya. "Then why, pray tell, are you chasing me if there are so many men better than me? Look, It's J, he is so much better than me, because he keeps his calm, then why are you not chasing him?"
"Wha-" sabat sana ni J.J.J.
Kaya lang, nagpatuloy pa rin sa pagsasalita si Howard.
"Oh, and there's also Rylie, he has more sense of humour than me, and I can't joke to save my life. So, why not him? Oh, and there's Drake too, he's more popular with the ladies, and knows how to pick them up. So, why also not him?"
"Hey!" Rylie.
"What the fu-" Drake.
But Howard just ignored them and continued speaking.
"There's more. Oh, and there's also Neil, the golden boy. Sweet, kind, caring. Helps the community, loves to help people. Has a heart of gold, blah blah blah, the exact opposite of me? So as always, why not him?! Howard was now shouting at me, and veins were visible at his neck.
"Shit, dude stop-"
"NO!" Howard roared. "There's Jack, the one who helps you in assignments, Xavier the nerd, there's Alex, Gideon, Christian..." Howard enumerates.
After he was finished, he said calmly. "Why not them? The only difference from me to them is I am more handsome, rich, and taller than them. Again Val, WHY. NOT. THEM?" He wasn't shouting, but his voice is stronger and more determined.
Wow, even when he's angry he's still arrogant. Tsk. Handsome? Rich? Taller? Really?
I didn't answer him. I couldn't speak. Of course he's right. Why did you chase him? There are others better than him. So why him? Why not them?
"I can't answer a question, If I don't even know the answer." I finally said.
"Ahh.. So you don't know? Val, Val, Val. I think you do. You're just afraid."
Kinabahan ako sa sinabi niya dahil alam kong totoo yon. Alam ko na-
"See? It's true."
*RIIINNGGGG!!!!*
Saved by the bell.
"Figure it out Val." Howard said as he brushed past me and my friends. "Or I will."
No! Admit it, you already know why. I'm just chasing him see? Haha.. that's not what I'm talking about.
I blocked the voice and said to Abby and Jane. "Cafeteria?"
They gave me weird looks but brushed it off. "Yay! Lasagna! I'll order that and some strawberry cake..."
I blocked their voices and kept thinking, Is it possible that-
"Watch out!"
