#1: Sudden Appearance
NARU'S POV
"Mai tea. ." I ordered Mai and she mocked-salute me then headed to our makeshift kitchen. Her brown hair was cascading behind her back up to her upper waist. It was a bit wavy on the ends but it fitted her fine. She quitted school to work under me. It was her last year but she quiet. She was an idiot I know. But Mai did that for the sake of taking care of SPR. She was the one who opposed the most when I told them SPR was shutting down. She loved this agency much more than just her workplace. She treats us like family.
RING RING RING!! RING RING RING!!! ♪♪
I picked up the phone and held it against my ear.
"Hi Dear!" I smiled at the caller. Guess who is it. My mom. Luella Davis
"Hi mom. ." I answered her and I could tell she was smiling.
"What's got you in a joyous state hmm Noll??" she said using the English version of my name Naru.
"What are you talking about Mom?" I asked her and she chuckled.
"Young love these days. So secretive." she said and I could feel heat rise on my cheeks. Love has been a touchy subject for me. Especially with Mai being teased to me.
"Mom."
"Hmm?"
"Shut up." I frankly said and she just giggled.
"Noll. Good luck" she said and ended the call. Good luck with what?? That's my mom Luella Davis, a clairvoyant and astral projection expert. Her abilities are like Gene and Mai's but in much more larger scale. My dad Martin Davis, a ESP user also PK expert. Like me but in a much more larger scale. They're both researchers at the real SPR or Society of Psychical Research as well as BPR or British Psychic Research.
"Naru, Your tea. ." Mai said and put the cup of Darjeeling tea in my desk. She really does know me too well.
'Oh right Naru, we need to get a new camera, the other one broke on the case last month.' Gene mind-linked me and I nodded.
'Which one? The infrared or the motion sensor?' I asked him telepathically. A few moments of silence means he's looking through it.
'The motion one' he said and cut off the link. Need to mail that order to SPR. I went in front of the computer and started to email SPR. After I finished writing the email and sending it I took a sip of the tea Mai made. It was the right blend more so than any other assistant that I had. Mai's tea was always the right one. I finished it in mere minutes and telepathically called for Mai.
'Mai, I need you in here. Now!' I ordered her and I'm pretty sure she's rolling her eyes right now. Some assistant I had. The door opened and in came Mai in a blue sleeveless dress and white doll shoes. Her hair was tied in a side braid with flowers embedded in it and her eyes had glasses on them. Glasses! She. . She was. . .She was beautiful. .
Wait. . Where's her uniform?
"What happened to you?" I asked her and she flushed red which added to her cute looks. Shit Naru stop thinking those kind of thoughts. You can't I tell you.
'Yes, you can' Gene said in my mind and I sent him a jolt of psychic energy surely making him cry in pain.
"Yowch!!" told you.
"What happened to you Gene?" she asked while looking out the door and I had time to admire her body. She had nice curves and she had perfect body measurements her shoulder length braided hair was very cute. Okay I sounded like an atrocious pervert for a sec there.
"Well Madoka wanted me to try on this dress for her wedding. ." she said while her dress was flowing freely when walking. Lin and Madoka are getting married next week but all I could think about was how Mai looked beautiful in that dress. I had time to admire her silky bare legs and I felt my heart pounding against my ears. Since when did I had thoughts of her like that??
'Like what you see brother?' Gene entered my mind and once again I sent him a jolt of energy but he deflected it back but I just absorb it'
'Idiot scientist!' Gene said and cut off the link. A giggle surfaced from in front of me and I saw Mai leaning against my desk and looking at me with a smile on my face.
"You and Gene sure know how to have time for each other. You're both so cute. ." she said and smiled. She was irresistible right now. I put a wall on my thoughts and hers as well so that Gene wouldn't barge in on our mental conversations.
"I hate him." I said to her and she just smiled. She had the greatest smile and I don't know what I'd do without it and her tea.
"You're so cute Naru. ." I stood up and went in front of her. I neared my face to hers and her face lit up like a tomato.
"Never ever call me cute. Cute is for dogs" I said to her and went back to my seat.
"S-Sure. ." she stuttered and I smiled at her reactions. She was really so cute with them. She stood up and went beside me but being the klutz she was she tripped and I turned around to face her and then. . .
VIOLAAAAA!
Mai and I kissed. .
On the lips. .
"Kyaaaah!" we both jumped away and looked to the door and saw Madoka with her hands on her cheeks. Oh my God. . This could get worse.
"Di-Did you two kiss?! Oh my gosh!! Oh my gosh, oh my gosh OH MY GOSHH!" she squealed making sure that Gene and Lin heard. I heard scuffling of feet towards my office and sooner said than done Gene and Lin's heads popped at the door.
"What did you say Madoka?!? Oh no! My sis' innocence!" Gene over-reacted and went to Mai engulfing her in a hug. I suddenly wanted to punch my brother and so I controlled him using psychic energy twisting his hand behind him.
"Atatatatattata I-it hurts Naru!" he said and I released him. That's what you get for hugging Mai.
TOK TOK TOK.
We heard a knock on the door and Mai went to get it. Lin, Madoka, and Gene looked at me with smiles on their faces. What was wrong with them. Suddenly Gene patted my head, Lin patted my shoulder and Madoka smiled at me.
"Naru's all grown up. Awww. How cute" I slapped Gene's hand away and he just smiled. Lin let go of me and he and Madoka went out of the office into his.
"Mai!" we heard a boy's voice from the door and the next thing was the boy hugged Mai. I suddenly released a lot of energy slamming my desk onto the wall. Who dares to touch MY assistant?!?
"Naru, calm down, calm down" Gene touched my shoulder and I suddenly felt weak. He was sucking energy from me and with little strength I slapped his hand away and stood up recomposing myself.
"Gene call the fixers to get this fixed" I said to Gene while pointing at the desk on the wall. Well it was really hard. I walked out of the office and confronted the boy who supposedly hugged Mai.
"Yuki this is Naru my boss, Naru this is Yuki. . my ex. ." I almost stopped breathing. What did she say?!? Her EX?! What the?! Since when?!?
SHE HAD AN EX?!?
