Last time
I sigh closing my eyes, I need Rocky to come back. I hear movement behind me then laughter, I tense up I've never seen anyone else hear. I turn my head and my mouth opens in shock.
"Maya?"
"Jake?" he grins at me hurrying over.
"Oh my god, it is you" he says, I grin throwing my arms around his neck. Jake and I were friends ever since I was little, then about a year before I met Rocky and his family Jake had to move to London and we stayed in touch for a couple of months then we just stopped.
"I missed you so much, I was hoping you'd be down here I was going to come here and then go to your old cabin to see if you were there." He tells me as we release from our hug.
"Where the fam?" he asks, tears prick my eyes and he looks shocked.
"Hey what's wrong, are you in a fight with them, is that why your here?" I shake my head,
"Uh, no, they uh died 3 years ago" I say my voice small.
"Oh god Maya I'm so sorry, why didn't you call or send a letter, let me know, I would have come and been with you" he tells me pulling me into a hug.
"We hadn't spoken in like 2 years, I didn't know if you were still in the same place or not and I just..." I trail off, he pulls away slightly leaning his forehead against mine.
"Hey its fine, but I moved back to LA last month. I got a job on in a movie, so now we can hang out again" he tells me I can't help but smile, he was my best friend when I was little and I was devastated when he moved, he's another reason why it takes me a while to open up to others.
"I've missed you" I say moving my head to the crook of his neck, he buries his head in my hair
"I've missed you too, so much" we sit together catching up on everything else that has happened, he tells me about the acting his done which is just a few small parts here and there, I tell him about how I've been in some TV shows for a few episodes here and there and how I'm waiting to hear back from a movie which I auditioned for the lead in then realise it's the one that he's doing. I tell him about Rocky and his family, he tells me about he's family and best mate Cameron, and yes I mean Cameron Dallas, and yes he's friends with all those guys.
"I should get going back to the cabin" I say, I don't want to but I know I've been gone a while and I need to make sure everything packed.
"Oh ok, can we meet up tomorrow for a bit?" he asks as we get up, I shake my head.
"Umm I'm going to New York tonight, then for New Years I'll be in Vegas for R5's shows" I tell him, he sighs
"Well we'll be able to hang out next year when you get back then," I nod, I hand him my phone.
"Put your number in it" I tell him, he grins taking his phone out and handing it to me so I can put mine it.
"I need a photo for your contact" I tell him when he hands me my phone back,
"Ok" he says, opening his camera and wrapping an arm around my waist pulling me close, I wrap my arm around his neck, he buries his face in my hair I laugh covering my face with my other hand, he laughs
"Maya move I can't see your face in the photo" he laughs I shake my head, he laughs pulling his face back slightly and squeezing my side, I laugh bring my hand slightly he we are both laughing as he takes the pic
"Aww that's actually cute" I say he smiles sending it to me, then making it the photo for my contact, I do the same.
"Hey do you, maybe I don't know want to come back with me, I can introduce you to the others" he looks at me shocked
"You know what never mind its stupid I just, I don't want to leave you having just seen you again"
"Maya shhh, I'd love to" he says laughing, I smile.
"Wow this is a nice place" Jake says as we reach the cabin, I nod my head.
"Come on" I tell him taking his hand, I open the door and shrug off my jacket, as I take off my shoes I gesture for Jake to do the same. I glance around to see if Rocky is back but I can't see his shoes or jacket.
"You ready?" I ask turning to him, he nods. We make our way up the stairs to the lounge where the majority of the fam will probably be.
"Hey guys" I say as we enter the room.
"Maya, hey your back, I'm so sorry we should have just let you be we know your going through a lot at the moment" Riker says quickly pulling me into a hug, Ry and Gus are behind him saying similar things.
"Guys its fine ok, forget it" I say as I pull away from Riker's hug. They give me a grateful smile, then their eyes fall on Jake.
"Ummm Maya who's that?" Ry asks,
"You guys know my old friend Jake the one I told you about, you know the one who was my best friend then moved away about a year before I met you all" the Lynch's nod,
"Well this is him, he's moved back to L.A and he's got the male lead in the movie I auditioned for, he's been had a few smaller parts in other stuff." I say as I grab his hand because he was shifting at bit uncomfortably.
"Oh, hey dude we've heard quite a bit about you" Riker says, holding out his hand, Jake smiles shaking it as he says
"All good things, nothing to crazy and wacky I hope"
"I only told the truth" I say smirking at him, he rolls his eyes chuckling as the others laugh,
"Hey" Ry says holding out his hand too. Jake shakes it,
"Ok, so that's Riker, and this is Ryland, that's Gus" I say as I point at the three boys in front of us, Gus gives Jake a small smile and holds out his hand too, Jake shakes it then looks at me raising his wiggling his eyebrows, yes I told him how I like Gus. I give him a little shove and introduce him to everyone else.
"Maya, I've got to get going, mum wants me home" he tells me, we've been talking with everyone for about an hour now, and he gets along really well with everyone which makes me really happy. I sigh standing up from the couch where I was sitting with Jake leaning against him while I talked with Ross, Court, Vanni and Delly, while Jake was talking to some of the boys.
"Ok I'll walk you home" I say,
"Maya you stay here, you have to eat something and Rocky should be back soon, I'll take Jake home ok" Riker says, standing up.
"fine" I say sighing, as I walk to the door, Riker joins me as Jake says his goodbyes, I sigh
'What's wrong?" Riker asks,
"It sucks that he has to go, I only just got back with him and now I won't see him till like the second week in Jan, I'm missing his birthday too, his is on the 30th, and their family isn't exactly rich enough for all of them to come to Vegas or anything, like yeah he's done a bit of acting but not a lot, and he's parents don't have the highest paying jobs, like not really bad but not enough and plus there's his little sister and big brother too. Their family just won't have enough" I say as leaning my head against his arm,
"Alright I'm ready let's go before mum kills me for being late" he tells us, I nod grabbing his hand has we walk down the stairs,
"I'll see you when you get back from Vegas ok" he tells me pulling me into a hug after him and Riker have put on the shoes, I nod handing him his jacket.
"Yeah, I'll call you so make sure your phones on" he nods giving me another hug.
"Tell the fam I say hi ok?"
"Will do, see ya later, love you"
"Love you too" I say giving him a kiss on the cheek. I give Riker a quick hug,
"Drive safe ok?" he nods,
"I will, I'll be back soon, love you little sis"
"Love you too big bro" I say then make my way upstairs, everyone's still sitting and talking.
"Jakes a great kid" Ratliff says,
"Yeah, he's a cool dude" Ry says as I take a seat next to him, I curl up into his side, I'm kind of tired now, I mean I haven't been sleeping that well and then last night I didn't sleep so yeah I think I'm finally getting tired. I close my eyes and snuggle closer to him, he wraps his arm around me,
"Maya, what's going on with you Jake?" Ross asks, my eyebrows furrow in confusion, as I open my eyes.
"What do you mean?"
"Are you like going to get together? or do you like each other?" I burst out laughing, everyone looks confused.
"No, we aren't going to get together, and we don't like each other, he's like my brother"
"Oh, ok it just seems like there's something there, have you ever dated?" Rydel asks
"Nope, but people always thought we liked each other and would end up together" everyone nods, I smile then snuggle back into Ryland,
"Maya you should eat something" he says quietly as everyone starts their own conversations again, I shake my head against him. He sighs
"Hey Ell come here a sec" Ell gets up and walks over to us, Ry motions to him and whispers in his ear, he nods then grabs Rydel's hand and pulls her up then into the kitchen.
10 minutes later Ell and Delly come out of the kitchen Ell's carrying a big blow and Delly has small blows and cutlery.
"I've made some of my awesome fruit salad" Ell says as they set the stuff down.
"Go serve a bowl and you and I will share" Ry tells me, I open my mouth but before I even protests,
"Nope, you can't say anything just go get the salad, you'll eat a bit slowly" I sigh, getting up, I grab a blow and serve a bit, I grab one fork that way I'll have to eat even less, I sit back down and hand Ryland the bowl, I eat a piece ever now and then.
"I'm proud of you" Ry says as he puts the bowl on the table.
"Thank you" I say quietly
"For what?"
"For taking it slowly, you know without pressuring me, just taking care with it, it means a lot"
"No need to thank me" leaving a kiss on my forehead.
Its about 3:30 now I have to leave in like 2 hours and Rocky still isn't back yet,
"Maya are you all packed?" Stormie asks me, I nod glancing at the stairs,
"Maya he's not going to come faster if you keep looking at the door ever 3 seconds" Ross tells me, I roll my eyes, turning back to him. I then hear the door click,
"Watch and learn Ross Shor Lynch" I tell him, I stand up and face the door, I fold my arms just as the noise of foot steps can be heard in the lounge.
"See" I say turning to look at Ross, he rolls his eyes.
"Maya don't kill him" Ryland says as I grab a magazine and roll it up into a scroll.
"I won't kill him" I thought that when he got back I'd sprint down the stairs because I missed him and I was worried about him, but now I'm feeling more pissed because he made me so worried and scared.
"Hey guys, I'm back, sorry about leaving" I turn to face him the magazine held tightly in my hand.
"It's ok, just call if there is a next time, and we are glad your back" Stormie says giving him a hug, the others following. I slowly walk up to him. He gives me a sheepish sorry grin.....
