Motionless, I remained standing, my calves pressed into the super soft couch while Hannah was tugging on my arm for me to do something. But I couldn't, my mind and face went slack and only one word kept resurfacing, bite, bite, bite.

Not until I felt a new hand grip my shoulder did I do anything. It was like another person took over completely and the sudden new contact was the trigger. As soon as the man's skin grazed mine did I switch gears from passive to aggressive. I didn't even have to think, it was like my body was preprogrammed and all I had to do was punch in the commands.

In a blink of an eye I twisted the man's wrist, he let out a pained cry when I heard the crack and hauled him over my back crashing right on the coffee table. He was out cold and everyone else looked at me surprised, even Mr. Wright who was previously looking very confident, face switched to slightly scared.

Two more guards thundered towards me and I meant them head on, running straight at them bear hugging the first around his waist and pushing him into the other like dominos. I let go and watched them stumble back like clumsy giants. Quickly regaining their balance they both charged me without thought.

I dropped a little to the side on the ground just as one was a hair's width away and stuck out my leg tripping him. I heard a sickening thud as his head collided with the ground. The bigger they are the harder they fall.

I rolled out of reach from the other just as a foot was about to connect to my skull and sprung up in one fluent motion.

Throwing a few quick jabs at my face I easily blocked and sent my foot to his stomach as if I was breaking open a door. The guard flew backwards crashing through the glass wall like it was paper and fell down on the dance floor below. I can recall hearing a loud bang and people yelling from afar but was too busy to notice as I was currently slamming my elbow into a full grown man's nose and kneeing another in the groin. I made short work of them.

Five down, three to go.

They came at me at once, and I knew if I wanted to win my footwork would have to be fast to keep them in a straight line. I only wanted to be actually fighting one at a time.

But I didn't get the chance to kick there butts because unlike the first five guys these three were a little more incline to use their guns.

The first bullet whizzed by my ear missing my head by inches. I instinctively dove for cover behind an overturned table I knocked over previously by throwing a guy into it. Gunfire peppered my ears like bells and I heard screams from all over the club as they realized what was going on.

Looking around I saw a guy passed out next to me, I nearly squealed in delight when I found his shotgun fully loaded. Now I wasn't an expert in shooting but my Dad did take me to the firing range on occasion, it was practice for hunting trips we use to go on. So I wasn't a newbie either, I could hit the target.

Flicking the safety off I ready myself; back against the table and steadying my breathing, my heart was nearly breaking through my chest as I waited for an opportunity to shoot. I just needed a space between their shootings to pop up and fire back. Silently I was thanking the lord for not wearing a dress tonight, but what in the Heavens to Betsy was I thinking wearing heels.

Then there it was, a gap of silence from there shooting. Not wasting a single second I sprung up, gun forward and started to let lead fly. One guy was a little slow on reaction time and managed to get a bullet straight through his shoulder, a small yelp of agony and he was down. The other two were just quick enough to avoid my aim.

They took cover behind the bar, the sound of glasses shattering and splash of liquids followed. I continued my rain of bullets, bottles of booze exploded sending a spray of alcohol everywhere. But then a unforgiving click of an empty gun graced my ears and my assault came to a halt.

Without wasting time they started firing back no longer threatened by me shooting them. I was in a tight spot with only a few options. I either get shot, give up, or get shot which still didn't sound too good. Banging my head against the table for being stupid and wasting all my bullets I let it drop to the side and stared at the table beside me.

A still smoking cigarette sat in a ash tray on its surface with a lighter beside it, I stared at the glowing embers as they greedily ate up the tobacco and paper. Smoke rose to the ceiling in a cloud, it smelt disgusting reminding me of the the smell of the shot I had an hour ago.

Then an idea popped in my head, a reckless and stupid one but it was better then anything else I got.

Snatching the lighter up I sprinted out of my hiding spot, gunfire followed me like mosquitos. Quickly I battled with the switch on the lighter, sparks fizzled and then a steady flame came to life. I had only one shot and one shot only, if I screw up I could kiss everything goodbye.

Reeling my arm back I sling-shot it forward like I was throwing a baseball, the lighter twirled gracefully across the room in a beautiful arc. I watched in almost slow motion, waiting to see if this one in a million plan would actually work out. I held my breath as the red glow of it disappeared behind the bar, everything was silent.

"What'd you'd think would happen girly, we'd be killed be a little flame? Fat chance b*tch, now get on the floor before I blow your f*cking brains out!" Yelled an ugly brute from behind the bar, pointing a gun towards me.

It didn't work I thought and began to lower myself to the ground with my hands up.

Then the entire bar set ablaze, I could feel the heat of the flames from where I was standing. It was so bright it was hard to look at but almost impossible to look away as the two men screamed and ran out of the room on fire.

Alcohol, smells terrible but is highly flammable.

I smiled at my victory that I had won, my body felt bruised and battered but I could barely notice from all the adrenaline in my system at the moment. But I couldn't help feel I was forgetting something?

Hannah!

My stomach instantly dropped and all the satisfaction I was just feeling snapped and floated away like dandelion seeds. In a panic I looked around frantically, my eyes widen when I saw where she was.

Tear soaked face and mascara running down her cheeks as a gun was pressed against her temple and I then noticed the sword being dangling above my head.

Mr. Wright had a crazy look in his eyes and teeth gritted as he cocked the weapon more energetically now that he knows I see them.

"Wait! Stop, don't hurt her!" I pleaded

"You're even better then I imagined you to be, it's very impressive what a little genetic modification is capable of. You took down eight of my best men in under ten minutes. Truly impressive on the offensive side, but not as successful on the defensive, you failed to protect your charge from harm." He spat and gave Hannah a jerk at the end. He was completely insane. What drugs was he on and why is he saying this? Genetic modification? Charge? In what world do people talk like this?

"Clam down, just don't shoot." I said in my calmest voice possible, we had to leave soon, the flames were getting out of control. I took a few steps forward.

"Stay back! Don't think I won't shoot her because I will!" Mr. Wright yelled panic evident in his voice.

I internally groaned, all I wanted was to have a fun carefree night without any issues but of course me being me I wound up in a club ran by a crazy person. I bet this happens to no one but me, I'm the first.

"What do you want? I'll do anything j-just put down the gun." I said as delicately as possible like I was talking to baby mouse.

"I want you to put on these handcuffs and blindfold and come with me, if you do this your charge will live." He said pulling out a pair of handcuffs and a blindfold, who carries those... Nevermind don't want to know.

I stare into his eyes for any hesitation but see none. We were running out of time, the flames were already causing the building to become unstable and the oxygen in the room was thin and dry. Probably 5 minutes to make it out or it was game over for all of us.

Eyes watering from the smoke I scowled "Alright I'll do it."

"No don't do it Baylee!" Hannah cried out trying to rip her body away from Mr. Wright, he only gripped her harder and yanked her back squeezing the gun trigger ever so slightly to her head.

"Shut up!" He growled at the sobbing redhead.

"Relax, everybody just chill out." Although admittedly it was a little hard to with the burning fire going on just metres away.

As slowly as humanly possible I walked towards them, hands placed firmly on head not even daring to breath in case it sets off Mr. Wright enough to shoot Hannah. I think everyone was holding their breath as I made my way over.

Standing in front of the two I waited for further instructions, I wasn't sure how this whole handcuff and blindfold thing was going to to work if he was to busy keeping my friend at point-blank range.

"Turn around." He barked harshly giving a sharp gesture with his head.

Snail like I turned around facing the room currently burning down, the smoke was beginning to burn my lungs. Did no one else care about the fact we were conducting a hostage swap INSIDE a burning building? Because I couldn't help but take that into concern.

"Now you, ginger, put the cuffs on her and then the blindfold. If you two try anything funny I won't think twice about killing both of you b*tches."

Sighing I felt two trembling soft hands begin to cuff my wrists, my mind was racing on how in the world I was going to figure a way out of this one.

"Tighter!" Commanded Mr. Wright when he noticed Hannah not tightening them enough by any means, I could still practically slip in my hand out.

A short sob followed by a string of clinks and the painful pinching sensation flourished around my wrists. I would definitely have bruises that I wouldn't be able to explain to Mom and Dad without being house bound for the rest of my life.

"Now the blindfold, hurry up with it, this place is coming down." Snapped his rough voice.

A soft material covered my eyes as the world was shut out and turned into blackness, I could barely see the orange glow coming from the flames.

"D-d-done." Sniffled Hannah and my heart nearly broke hearing her so scared and helpless, she never was a fighter but more of a lover. Even if she took karate lessons for five years, she never really paid attention, mostly just cheered me on and all the cute boys. I couldn't help but feel responsible, it was obvious this guy only wanted me and was using Hannah as a tool. I knew I was going to make him pay.

"Move!" He grunted at Hannah pushing her to the side.

I felt a strong jerk on my arm and stumbled into a chest haphazardly, then a cool metal rod was pressed against my head and I knew it was the end of a gun that only moments before was pressed to Hannah.

He leaned in close and whispered in my ear so only I could hear.

"We are going to have so much fun together."

Then he looked up towards Hannah.

"Leave." Mr. Wright said

Seconds went by, I heard no footsteps.

"What are you waiting for, I'll kill her if you don't!" Yelled Mr. Wright shoving the revolver harder to my head.

I had enough of this BS today, right now I just wanted to go home and have a shower then curl up in bed. I was so over nightclubs, security guards, and crazy people that I think I'll never want anything to do with them ever again. But hearing Hannah flat out lose it and start ugly crying her face off was definitely the last straw of the night.

I angled my head forward slightly and with all the force I could muster slammed it against the face behind me, I couldn't help the wave of pleasure going through me as I heard the loud crack of his nose breaking. He released me staggering back a few steps dazed, I almost wondered if it hadn't been enough to knock him out until a loud thud rang as Mr. Wright slumped to the ground, dead to the world.

Gasping Hannah rushed to me pulling the annoying blindfold off and throwing it to the ground, my eyes squinted from the sudden change of light. The bright room was almost completely consumed by flames, I was coughing from all the smoke clouding the air.

"Keys." Exclaimed Hannah as she looked at my handcuffs.

I simply I jumped and tucked my knees in as high as I could and swung my conjoined arms in front like a skip-rope.

"No time, come on." I coughed I couldn't breath anymore, all the oxygen was gone and replaced with smoke.

We ran down to back door around burning furniture and walls, when I opened it a staircase lead to another door with a bright red sign reading EXIT. In no small panic I hurriedly dragged Hannah down the steps and through the heavy solid metal door, but I was in such a rush I pushed them open like they were made of styrofoam.

Cool fresh air smacked our faces and we both simultaneously gasped and coughed from relief. I was doubled over, supporting my body with my hands on my knees to keep up as I breathed.

Sounds of sirens and people talking could be heard just around the burning building, we needed to get help. I began stumbling over towards the front lugging an exhausted Hannah with me towards the noise. I keep my eyes glued to the wet concrete as my heels made me trip every now and then.

Looking at Hannah I could only imagine how I looked. Soot covered her legs and clothes, while smudge makeup caked her face. Once pretty red curls were now a tangled mess resembling a birds nest on fire more then hair. Her dress' sleeve was torn off and hanging uselessly on her wrist like one of those 70's sweatbands. Overall we looked like sh!t. I guess the night would've ended the same after all.

Once in view of the first responders we immediately received help and I felt a weight being lifted off my shoulders. Literally, Hannah was using my shoulder as a support to walk and when they saw us they took her to be checked up on. My duty was done and now I could relax.

I let my eyes close as a team of people surrounded me and the world fell into darkness, the only thing on mind was

Lay down.
