this sad rhythm makes me queasy
who ever said that life would be easy?
angry all the time and weighed down by lies
graying skies and midnight highs
staying up late just for alcohol bliss
just for the chance to forget about this
wasting allowance on gumdrops and weed
and coughing our guts up until we bleed
wishing we were in daycare again
thinking of times so way back when,
living in shadows of debts that we owe
and emotions that we have learned to stow
