I couldn't help feeling a sense of dread wash over me.
What if my roommate was a total dweeb...what if...
''Earth to Leana'' asked Jason as he passed his arm in front of my face.
''Get your arm out of my face'' I replied as I shoved his arm away.
''Well...I wouldn't have to do that if you weren't drifting off to La La land'' said Jason.
'' Whatever'' I replied taking off in the direction of the dorm buildings.
''Wait'' said Jason as he pulled me to a stop and turned me in the opposite direction,
'' I wanna check something by the admin building...I mean the library sorry, before we check out your possible lunatic of a roommate.''
Sighing to myself I followed him and Amanda to the library.
We had only just met and yet still the three of us have already become joint at the hip. I could tell the three of us would probably be really close friends.
But then again is that a good thing?
Questions I ask myself. sighs.
''Penny for your thoughts'' asked Amanda.
''huh'' I replied.
'' Wow! You really do have a way of zoning out.'' Amanda stated with an amused grin on her face.
'' What? Still thinking about your witch of a roommate?'' asked Jason with a evil glint in his eye as he opened the door of the library for us like a perfect gentlemen.
''No'' I replied smiling at him, '' Actually I was thinking about buying you an air freshener for Christmas.''
''What?'' he asked with a confused expression.
''Yea, you know, for you next door sewer problem." I said as both me and Amanda started laughing.
'' Whatever. We''ll see who''ll have the last laugh'' said Jason as he glided past me and went to look for whatever he came here to look for.
''Hey'' Amanda said to me,
''I'm going by the librarian to see if I could apply for a job as one of the desk clerks...I''ll be right back'' and with that she walked away.
Seeing that I'm all alone I might as well go and look for a book to read or something.
I thought to myself as I walked to the nearest bookshelf and started glancing through books.
Quickly I found one that caught my attention and made my way to the nearest table to sit and read. Unfortunately the table I choose to sit at was the one right next to a bunch of giggling girls. As I glanced in the direction of the girl I quickly scrutinized them.
They look like the popular type...sitting around a table...looking through magazines...talking...probably talking about some guy they thought was hot...
'' oh my God! Adriel Hackshore is like so hot!'' said one of the giggling girls.
Yep definitely the popular type.
''Leanna, come on lets go'' said Jason suddenly materialising by my table.
'' You planning on borrowing that book?'' asked Amanda as she emerged from behind him.
'' Nah '' I said, leaving the book on the table and making my way past the giggling girls.
''I wonder whats those dimwits were giggling about now'' said Amanda in a clearly annoyed voice.
'' From what I heard. Someone by the name of Adriel Hackshore'' I replied as we exited the library.
'' I really don't see what the big attraction is. The boy's a total doosh bag'' said Jason.
''I'm sorry who is this Adriel Hackshore?'' I asked as I made my way towards the dorm buildings.
'' You don't know who Adriel that man whore is?'' asked Amanda her voice laced with disbelief.
I stopped walking and turned to look at her, '' Should I?''
Jason replied before Amanda could,
''He's only hollywood's golden boy who still attends this very same college that we're in. He's also the so called best dancer L.A has ever seen.''
''A. K. A. Hollywood's biggest jerk and biggest player.''
''Oh I wouldn't exactly call me a player'' came a melodic voice from behind me.
I turned around to see...Godly perfection.
The person in front me had a light tan with hazel eyes. Nice sleek black hair. Probably about six foot twelve. He wore a tight jersey that showed off his rock hard biceps. He was beauty in its purest form.
As I looked up at him I saw his face was wearing a smirk, I blushed realising that he noticed my ogling of his body.
'' Adriel'' I heard Jason say venom in his voice.
Obviously these too have had quite a bad history.
"Oh come on Jace don't be like that. Let bygones be bygones. You don't see me slandering your reputation.'' reasoned Adriel, then looking in my direction he said,
'' Look I'm no player. I tell the girls up front I'm not looking for a serious relationship. But they still come. I can't help it if they like what they see.''
And the boy had the nerve to wink at me too!
Before I could muster my voice and say anything Amanda beat me to it.
'' You arrogant asshole!'' she said rage clear in her voice.
''Says the ex dork who begged me to sleep with her in her sophomore year of high school.'' Adriel quipped, a bored tone in his voice that quickly turned to sensual,
''And I must say that I can totally do a rain check on that. Manda baby you are looking good.''
Meanwhile Amanda stepped back like if she'd been slapped and Jason looked liked if he was about to give Adriel a well deserved punch in the face.
'' Look. You seem like a cool girl'' he said as he watched me,'' If or should I say when you ever get tired of hanging with the wannabes my dorm room is building A 26 if you ever want to hang.'' said Adriel as he turned and walked off. Before he was out or earshot I shouted,
'' I'm sorry I don''t hangout with dick heads!''
A shocked Adriel turned around to face me. Obviously he didn't get turned down everyday. Before he could say anything I took Amanda and Jason hands and headed to my dorm building.
When we reached in the elevator I turned to Amanda and asked,
''Are you ok''
'' Yea.'' she replied but she didn't sound too convincing.
''So how do you guys even know that asshole?'' I asked.
''Well all of us kinda grew up together. Then in high school he got to dance in some celebs' music videos. He started acting like a stuck up jerk. Slept with my girl friend. And well I think you could figure out the rest'' said Jason voice shaking with anger.
''He was our best friend'' Amanda choked, tears strolling down her face,
'' I only asked him to sleep with me cause I wanted to get the whole virgin thing over with. But it ..like it went to his ego and he..he told the whole school...he ..he humiliated me''
I watched Amanda crying and Jason still shaking with anger.
I really didn't know what to do so I changed the subject.
''Can you guys please stop crying and calm down. The jack ass isn't worth it and besides there is no way I'm taking you to meet my possible weirdo of a roommate looking like that!'' I said pointing at Amanda and shuddering for emphasis causing both of them to laugh.
And just like that the two of them were back to teasing me and all thoughts of Adriel forgotten. I smiled to myself as we walked down the corridor to my room.
I was glad that they were back to normal. But as we reached in front of my door I couldn't help but feel a little grim.
'' Don't worry I'm sure she's okay'' said Amanda as I pushed open the door of my dorm room to inhale the scent of pizza.
As I walked into the room I saw clothes neatly folded on what I assumed to be my roommates side of the room.
I walked to where I smelled the disgusting aroma of pepperoni pizza.
And imagine my surprise when I walked in the room to see the girl who I collided with earlier on, eating pizza on a table in the kitchen while reading a book.
'' Oh good your finally here'' she said as a she looked up from the book she was reading, the smile on her face turning into a frown when she saw me.
''You'' she said putting down her pizza and getting up.
''Hi'' I said and stretched out my hand to shake hers, trying to be friendly.
She just stared at my out stretched hand with disgust and I awkwardly put my hand back by my side.
''I'm sorry about before. I really didn't mean to collide with you'' I told her, suddenly feeling kinda queasy.
She gave me a cold stare and said, '' Yea well next time just watch where your going.'' And with that she picked up her pizza and stormed off to her bed.
If this bitch thought she could just talk to me like that and storm off then she had another thing coming.
I thought to myself storming after her.
'' Look I'm gonna give you some free advice.
Advice number 1 - Don' t piss me off.
Advice number 2 - Stop acing like a stuck up little bitch.
Advice number 3 - Don't eat where we have to sleep because I am positive whatever cockroaches that you bring here won't stay on your side of the room.
Now get the hell out of the sleeping area with that pizza!'' I yelled as I pointed towards the kitchen.
I didn't really think she'd do what I said but she made her way to the kitchen, slammed the plate unto the kitchen counter and proceeded to storm out of the dorm slamming the door behind her.
'' Boy does she have anger problems'' whilsted Jason as he climbed unto my bed.
"' Tell me about it'' I said hopping on the bed next to him.
'' Wow! To think you got Kathleen Joseph, Mrs. petite ballerina as your roommate.'' said Amanda looking at me with pity.
'' You know her?'' was all I asked.
'' Yea. Like Jace said we all grew up together.''
'' Well she sure knows how to make a dramatic exit. I'd give her that'' I said leaning back on the bed.
'' Yip. She is one character, I imagine she gets it from her mother'' said Amanda.
''I'm sorry just who is her mother?'' I asked a little curious.
'' None other that the famous Annabelle Mathews.'' said Amanda.
''hmmm ...and who is that?'' I asked.
'' Sometimes I wonder if you live under a rock, how could you not know who is Annabelle Mathews. She's like the queen of pop.'' said Jason glancing at me with a worried expression.
Wow this boy really is a drama queen. I thought to myself as I replied,
''Wait I thought that was Micheal Jackson.'''
"' No. MJ's the king of pop sweetie. Where have you been for the past ten years? Catch up. Please catch up'' Jason sighed dramatically as he patted me on the back.
'' Well I'm sorry if me and my friends in Trinidad had other things to do than chick out celebs''
'' Trini...what? Wait you actually lived in the Caribbean'' asked Amanda like if it was so hard to believe.
'' Yea'' I said. All the sudden talk of home reminded me of what I left behind.
'' Well that explains your accent... hmmm... but I think we need to take you out to get updated'' Jason said as he jumped out of bed.
'' Guys can we please do this tomorrow. I'm tired. My body craves sleep.'' I begged as I put on my irresistible puppy dog face.
'' Find , but right after classes tomorrow where going. Cause child you need to come out of that cave your in.'' said Amanda as she pulled Jason with her out of the door.
As the door closed I sighed and fell back against the bed.
Tomorrow is going to be a long day.
