Too Much Too Soon Chapter 5
~Joey P.O.V.~
~A Few Hours Later~
I had already called the restaurant and made reservations for Kira and I. I was now on my way to the café to spend the remaining 20 minutes of shift with her.
"Hey there, what can I get you?" Kira said as she seductively bit on the end of pen with a devious smirk
"Well hey there to you to. What got you in such a good mood?" I bent over the counter and gave her a quick kiss
"Cause I'm happy to see you. Also Jackie and Simone are here, they're right over there" She pointed to the girls who were sitting in a more secluded part of the café
"Damn they beat me here?" I laughed
"Yeah, they've been here for about 2 hours now and my manager almost kicked them out because they were being too loud. So they had to move over there or leave"
"Only your friends would nearly get kicked out of the café. But Ima go say hi to them right quick" She nodded her head and walked back towards some area where only staff were aloud. I shouldn't say only staff cause, Kira and I went back there a few times.
I walked up to the girls and I couldn't help but laugh
'What the fuck is so damn fuckin funny, Joey" Simone said as she straight up mugged me
"Y'all two idiots almost got kicked out for bein loud" Jackie extended her arms for a hug and I willingly gave her a hug. I took a seat in between the girls. "Hey Jackie" I smiled
"Hey Joey, and it wasn't our faults. Some girls came in here and things so happened to pop off. They were getting loud with us so naturally we're going to be even louder with them" She shrugged her shoulders. Jackie was really chill, she was really mellow and never let anything get her hyped. She was short, thick, and had curly jet black hair that was shaved on one side. One thing I knew about her, when I first saw her, was she had to have been born with "bad bitch" cause she sure is one. Simone was simply born with "hood rat" but that's her thing.
"I love how Simone, still yelling at me even though I ain't even listening" I whispered to Jackie, who let out a small laugh
"Don't think I didn't hear you Joey. I swear to God, if you're talkin shit about me, I'll cut you." She gave me that death stare and I just bursted with laughter "Tonight you better sleep with one eye open. Ima come to you and you're finna get fucked up."
"Why you all hype for?" I managed to choke out through my laughter
"Just cause it's you" She spat
"You know how they say, when someone's mean to you they like you?" Jackie said to me
"oooooooooooooh Simone wants a piece of Joey now? But you're mad frontin girl. If that's all you wanted all you had to do was ask" Jackie and I were sharing a laugh leaving a pissed off Simone speechless
"Y'all are so dumb" She rolled her eyes and sat back deeper into the couch
"So where's Dacari been? I haven't seen him in a while" Jackie asked as she looked me directly in my eyes. Jackie and Dacari had a little thing between em at some point but it wasn't like they were together. They had an interest for each other but I think Jackie liked him more than he liked her
"He's been here and there. You talk to him?"
"Nope" I saw a little bit of hurt in her eyes as she shifted her gaze from me to her lap. I felt a little bit bad but I wasn't going to but in or anything.
"Let's go" Kira said as she walked up to us
"You're off?" I rose an eyebrow
"Yup, my manager said he needed to close up earlier, so I get to leave early" She smiled. She looked over at Simone then looked back at me with a confused look
"She's just mad cause Jackie and I figured her out" I stood up and wrapped one arm around Kira. Jackie stood up and Simone followed.
"So what's everyone doing now?" Jackie asked once we reached our cars
"Well Kira and I got a date in about an hour" I said as I leaned up against the back of my escalade
"Aw that's hella cute" Jackie said with a smile "Well Simone and I finna leave you two, so y'all can get ready and all that"
"Alright, see y'all later" Simone and Jackie waved at us before walking over to their car.
"I'll come by and pick you up in like 45 minutes alright?" I asked as I held onto her hands. I feel like I'm so lovestuck like I don't know why this girl does that to me.
"Alright, I'll see you then" She let go of my hand and walked over to her car.
~Kira P.O.V.~
~45 Minutes Later~
I was all ready to go. My hair had soft beach curls than flowed down my back. I had on a little bit of eye make up. As for my outfit, I simply wore a black mini pencil shirt, beige colored sequence shirt, and black pumps.
I heard his knocks on the front door and raced down the stairs to go greet him.
I opened the door and he looked amazing. He had on dark wash true's, a white button down shirt, a fancier gold chain and his white jays. I could just stare at him forever and never get over how fine he was.
"You ready to go?" He asked so smoothly
"Yup, let's go" He intertwined his arm with him and lead me out to his car and opened the door for me. Aw, he was such a gentleman
"Thank You" I said sweetly. He smiled at me and closed my door. He walked around and hopped in on his side.
"You excited for our first date?" He looked over at me
"Yes I actually am" I watched how he sat in the car. He had one arm on his steering wheel and his other hand was freely resting on the edge of his window. I swear Joey was perfect. He never makes a mistake, he is always perfect. How he walks, how he drives. how he talks, how he just carries himself as a person. "Can I ask you something?" I asked
"Go right on ahead"
"Why are you in a gang?" I never really sat down and asked him that. It was a question I wanted to ask him for a while but never really forced myself to ask him.
"I'll tell you when we get to the restaurant. It'll give us something to talk about" That only heightened my curiosity even more. I didn't want to wait till the restaurant to know why, but I guess I had no choice. I simply nodded my head and looked out the window watching all the blurred lights coming from the bright signs of buildings just fly by.
~A Few Minutes Later~
"Reservation for 2 under Joey" He said as we waited by the front. This restaurant was incredible, it was huge and lavish. Crystal chandeliers that hung from the high ceiling tops, pure marble floors that swirled underneath my heels.
"Yes, right this way" Our waiter grabbed 2 menu's and walked up these stairs and onto an outdoor balcony. "What can I start you two off with something to drink?" He asked as he handed us our menus
"I'll just have a sprite to start off with" I said
"Make that two" Our waiter nodded and walked back inside "Are you cold at all?" Joey asked. His eyes especially popped because of the candles, they illuminated his eyes and made them seem to glow.
"I'm fine thanks" I smiled as I looked down at my menu. I was so overwhelmed with the selection of dishes they had to offer. I scanned up and down each and every page till I came to a decision.
"Aight girl, what chu getting, cause I can't figure out what to get" He laughed
"I'm getting the twin lobster tails"
"That shit sounds hella good, I'm getting that too" He closed his menu and stacked it on top of mine. Our waiter came back and placed the sprites right in front of us.
"Do you know what you want to order?" He asked as he shifted his glare from Joey to me. We nodded our heads and told him what we wanted. He nodded his head and walked off, leaving Joey and I alone
"So how was your day?" I asked as I examined him
"It was pretty good actually, but the best part is right now and possibly later" He wiggled his eyebrows and I broke out in laughter. He is the corniest guy I've ever met, but he's so cute when he is corny
"Awh I'm so glad, so are you going to tell me about why you're in a gang?" I finally calmed my laughter down
"Alright, Alright. So I been in the gang since I was a youngin and it started when I was out in the streets. My mama and dad was always arguing so I was mainly out in the streets just to get away from all their yelling. I never went looking to join a gang it just kind of happened. Well that day came when I was jumped in and I've been in since then."
"Someone as sweet and funny as you, I just can't see being in a gang though" He reached across the table and grabbed both of my hands.
"When I'm doin jobs, I'm a completely different person. I keep my personal life out of what I do. The only thing the gangs turned me into was a killer and that's not what I'm proud of."
"The chances of me seeing the killer side of-"
"It'll never happen because I won't allow it to happen."
"You'll probably never take me back to your trap or anything huh?"
"Nope. The closest thing you'll ever get to being near the gang scene, Is when you're with my boys. Otherwise I'm keeping you far away. Loved ones are usually what other gangs go after and you are a loved one, so I don't want to lose you" My boyfriend was a killer but had that protective feature that made him even more attractive
"I see, why don't you just leave the gang?"
"It's not like saying, I quit, then going off and living life. The only way you leave a gang is if you get killed, or you kill yourself. When you join a gang you're forever entitled to that gang till your last breath"
"Oh my god. Well I want you know, whether you're a killer or not, I still love you regardless"
"That's all I needed to hear"
~2 Hours Later~
"Your parents ain't finna be mad you're still out right?" He asked me. We were sitting on the beach wrapped in a blanket he brought
"Nope, they think I'm with Simone for the night" I rested my head against his chest and closed my eyes. The sound of the soft waves and his heart beats were so soothing I felt myself drifting in and out of sleep.
~Joey P.O.V.~
I looked down and saw she was fast asleep in my arms. I swear this girl loves to sleep.
I picked her up carefully and carried her back to my car. I set her in the passenger side and hopped around to my side.
~A Few Minutes Later~
I tucked her into my bed and walked back downstairs to go find something to watch. It was only 9 o'clock so I wasn't tired and the night was still hella young.
I was channel surfing for about 10 straight minutes until I felt someone's familiar hands start to massage my shoulders.
"What's this for?" I asked in between soft moans that escaped my lips
"Since you treated us to such a nice dinner, why not give you a neck massage" I felt her nails glide across my neck and she knows anytime she drags her nails across my skin, that shit gets me hot
"Watch what you're doin with your nails, this time if you get me goin, I ain't stopin" I laughed. I turned around and pulled her down onto my lap and attacked her with kisses
"You would stop if I said so" she said as she played with the corners of my mouth
"Don't push it. I already want you bad enough as it is"
"If you catch me you can have me" she said as she got up and took off running throughout the house
"I ain't running girl! I do enough of that with the guys!" I laughed as I settled down deeper into the couch.
~The Next Day~
"Fuck!" I yelled as I held my arm in pain. I looked down and saw a deep gash right where my deltoid was. I heard a loud crash and saw the second story of the trap cave in.
I felt someone pull me by my other arm and drag me outside. I looked up and saw Marcel. I watched him pull his bandana back up and run back inside the now burning trap.
I looked around and saw Ace but not Dacari.
"Where's Dacari?!" I yelled as I pulled my bandana down
"I don't know, he was upstairs last I saw him" He said as he hung his head low "come on we needa get out of the smoke" he said as he pulled me with him
Within a few minutes Marcel and Decari came running out coughing hard with a few minor burns
"Never again are we busting this kind of a fuckin trap" Decari said in between deep breaths
"I know" Ace said. We turned around and watched the entire building collapse and burst up in roaring flames
"I'm done with jobs for the next month" Marcel laughed
"Word up on that" we got in our cars and sped off back to our trap to clean ourselves up
~Kira P.O.V.~
I walked back home after I woke up and saw Joey was no where in sight.
I walked inside and saw my family sitting at the table eating breakfast. I smelt the buttermilk pancakes and bacon that nearly made me drool.
"Good Morning Kira, come eat breakfast with us" My Dad said without taking his eyes away from his usual morning newspaper
"I'm not hungry but thanks" I remember I was probably covered with hickies around my neck. This morning I did know for a fact Joey was feeling incredibly affectionate before I fell back asleep.
"Is everything okay?" He asked as he looked up, but I had already started making my way up the stairs
"I'm fine! Just not hungry!" I yelled from the top of the stairs. The only downside with my relationship with Joey is I can't quite tell my parents about him. Being sneaky I never really liked just because I was always open with my parents but this topic I know would lead to a huge argument.
I sighed and flopped down on my bed. I sat there staring up at the ceiling thinking over the past 2 months.
I think I was actually in love with Joey.
