The summer has arrived at last, and with the
fine weather, we all feel like having fun in
the open air, going to festivals and enjoying
concerts! Italy is a country very rich in
history. We are known, not only for our masterpieces
of art and monuments, but also for our food and festivals,
where we preserve many of our traditions. It's
impossible to write about them all, because they are
present in every corner of Italy, but I'll bring you with
me on a short and imaginative journey, that will make
you fall in love with our ancient traditions and entertainment-
so come with me!
To those who love music, food, and culture, the Italian
summer promises to be full of events.
Concerts. If you love music, Italy has the honor of
hosting the biggest Italian and international stars
with concerts that fill our stadiums and theaters. You
can catch stars like Tori Amos, Miley Cyrus, Pearl
Jam, The Rolling Stones, Giorgia, Laura Pausini, and
Jovanotti. For lovers of classical music, the calendar is
full, and the city of Verona is particularly well known
for these concerts.
For all of us who love good food, there are a wide
variety of festivals and fairs stretching from the
northern points of Italy all the way down to the south,
and from the mountains to the sea.
The Cherry Festival. In the summer months, it's time
for cherries, and particularly in June, in the cities of
Vignola, Emilia Romagna and in Pastena, Lazio, there
is a charming cherry-festival, where we enjoy delicious
cherries, and other kinds of food like Parmiggiano-
Reggiano (Parmesan cheese) and ring
shaped cake.
The Feast of Harvested Grains. In Sardinia, summer
begins with the famous feast of the harvested
grains, which has ancient historical roots. The end of
the wheat harvest is celebrated, in the little village of
Sadali, with a typical local dish called "I Culurgiouis,"
a handmade pasta and a real delicacy for the palate.
In August, the village of Aosta, located high in the
mountains, organizes the beacon of festivals, with lots
of animations and taste workshops: .
The Pizza Village Festival. As we all know, pizza is
the ruler of every Italian dining table. To get your fill
of this famous Italian staple, we have to hop on the
picturesque road to Caracciolo – the waterfront of
Naples, where it is served in the "Pizza Village," the
biggest festival of pizza in Italy.
After tasting some of the best and most famous Italian
foods, let's take a peek at our most popular film,
theatre and music festivals.
Tournaments. In Siena, in August, on the famous
Palio, the ancient tournament takes place with a costumed
medieval horse race.
The Clown & Clown Festival. In Monte S.Giusto,
in the Marche region we have the "Clown & Clown"
festival, where many international artists perform
and mimic the famous medical doctor, founder of the
Gesundheit Institute and clown, Dr. Patch Adams.

The Festival of the Two Worlds. In July, Spoleto, in the Umbria region, has the "Festival of the Two Worlds," with dance and musical performances. Audiences can enjoy not only a wide range of concerts, but also opera, drama and the arts.
The Umbria Jazz Festival. Each year, we have the Umbria Jazz Festival, where the biggest names in jazz music perform. This includes such artists as Randy Sarles, Jorn Swart, Frank Polacchi, and Bob Raynolds.
Go to Tora and Piccilli, little villages in the Campania region, and you can spend the day immersed in the evocative atmosphere of the past centuries. There is an event reminiscent of the assault on the old Tower that took place in the Middle Ages. Many stands are set up, showing ancient works of art and the streets are filled with performances of jesters and dancers. You can also visit the archaeological site and find some of the oldest traces of man.
The Rimini Wellness Fair. If health and wellness is your thing, then the beautiful seaside town of Rimini is where you want to go. One of the biggest fitness
trade fairs in Italy, it features everything from sports to spas!
The Beer Festival. In my home city of Cassino, the long hot summer offers the Beer Festival. In fact, for two weeks every night we have all kinds of shows while enjoying various renowned beers, both local and international flavors.
The Atina Jazz Festival. A little distance from Cassino, in the country village of Atina, in July, the famous Atina Jazz festival, has seen some of the world's most extraordinary artists, like the mythical Al Jarreau, Tito Puente, Jane Morris and Lenny White.
This is just a small taste of what's coming this summer in Italy, so come on down everyone as I shout with joy: "welcome summer!"

Festival ed Eventi dell'Estate Italiana.
Finalmente l'Estate è arrivata e con la bella stagione viene una gran voglia di stare all'aria aperta, andando per feste, eventi e concerti.
L'Italia è un paese molto ricco di storia non solo per i suoi capolavori d'arte e monumenti millenari, ma anche per le sue feste , fiere e festival gastronomici dove noi italiani manteniamo le nostre tradizioni.
E' praticamente impossibile scrivere di tutte quanto sopra, perché esse sono innumerevoli in ogni angolo d'Italia.
Ora vi porterò con me in giro per l'Italia con un breve ma fantasioso viaggio che vi farà certamente innamorare delle nostre antiche tradizioni ed i nostri vari divertimenti, cosi venite con me!
Per tutti quelli che amano la musica, la gastronomia, la cultura e lo sport, l'estate italiana si preannuncia ricca di eventi.
Se amate la musica live, l'Italia avrà l'onore di ospitare le più grandi stars della musica internazionale ed italiana, che sicuramente riempiranno gli stadi ed i teatri.
Verranno ad esibirsi qui da noi stars internazionali come Tori Amos, Queen of Stone Age, Miley Cyrus, Billy Idol, Linkinn Park, Pearl Jam, Rolling Stones, John Mayer, Ben Harper, Aerosmith, Eagleas, Jamens Blunt, Ligabue, Laura Pausini, Giorgia, e Jovanotti.
Inoltre per gli amanti della musica classica è ricchissimo il calendario in ogni città italiana, ed assolutamente non dobbiamo perdere quelli che la città di Verona ci offre nella sua stupefacente Arena Romana.
Per tutti noi che amiamo il buon cibo ed i prodotti tipici , le sagre e le fiere popolari sono davvero innumerevoli e si svolgeranno su tutto il territorio della Bella Italia, da nord a sud, al mare ed in montagna.
In Giugno è tempo di ciliegie, ed a Vignola in Emilia Romagna ed a Pastena nel Lazio, in questo mese si svolge la suggestiva sagra, dove poter gustare le deliziose ciliegie con tutte le altre specialità locali, come il Parmiggiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Modena e le ciambelle ed i formaggi della ciociaria.
In Sardegna l'estate si aprer con la famosa festa contadina che ha radici storiche antiche. Al termine della mietitura del grano si festeggia a Sadali con piatti tipici come i "Is Culurgiouis" un tipo di pasta fatto in casa, accompagnata con formaggi pecorini, che sono il simbolo di questa regione.
Ad Aosta, in alta montagna, in Agosto viene organizzata la sagra del lardo dop, qui si svolgono varie animazioni e laboratori del gusto.
Ad Ancona sulla costa adriatica, in tutte le vie della città ci saranno stands gastronomici in cui potremmo mangiare le gustosissime Pappardelle al Cinghiale.
In Sicilia a Piana degli Albanesi, la vita è dolcissima, con il famoso cannolo siciliano, tipico dolce regionale che attira tanti turisti.
Nella bellissima e suggestiva Amalfi, si celebra in Settembre la sagra del limone tipico della costiera. Qui oltre il profumo della brezza marina si mescola all'aroma delicato e fresco dei limoni che vengono adoperati per produrre il famoso liquore Limongello.
In un piccolo paese della campania, Pizzolano potremmo degustare la delicata e morbida mozzarella di bufala, che ancora calda ci verrà servita in un ambiente rurale e caratteristico.
La pasta, simbolo assoluto della cucina italiana, la potremo mangiare a Ferentino, nel Lazio, pittoresco e carino paese vicino Roma, e per due settimana ogni sera mangeremo tutti i tipi di pasta.
Per mangiare la Pizza, regina suprema delle nostre tavole, dobbiamo andare al Pizza Village, dove sul lungo mare di Via Caracciolo si svolgerà la più grande sagra della pizza in Italia.
Dopo aver assaggiato alcuni tre i migliori cibi italiani, non ci resta dare una sbirciatina a feste polari, rassegne cinematografiche e teatrali.
A Siena, ad Agosto si svolge il famoso Palio, una festa e competizione antica, dove si svolge una suggestiva corsa di cavalli con i costumi medievali, in Piazza del Campo.
A Monte S.Giusto, nelle Marche, le vie della città si svolge il festival Clown & Clown, dove per le vie della città artisti internazionali si esibiscono con spettacoli come il famoso clown Dottor Hunter Patch Adams.
A Spoleto in Umbria, in Luglio si svolge il festival dei due mondi, con spettacoli internazionali di danza e musica classica.
A Perugia da non perdere Umbria Jazz Festival 2014, dove i più grandi musicisti si esibiranno: Randy Sarles, Jorn Swart, Frank Polacchi, Bob Reynold.
Se andiamo a Tora e Piccilli, un piccolo e caratteristico paese in Campania, certamente trascorreremo una spendida e suggestiva giornata immersi in una atmosfera che rievoca i secoli passati. Infatti in luglio si svolge una manifestazione che rievoca l'assalto alla torre avvenuta nel periodo medievale. Vengono rievocati, nei borghi del paese, gli antichi mestieri, spettacoli di giullari e danze dell'epoca. Qui potrà essere visitato anche il sito archeologico con le orme più antiche dell'essere umano!
A Rimini, sulla costiera adriatica, per chi ama il Fitness ed Wellenss, non può mancare alla più famosa e grande fiera del fitness, ricca di eventi tutti dedicati al nostro benessere fisico e sports on stage.
Anche la mia città, Cassino in questa lunga estate calda, offre tante manifestazioni a cominciare dal Festival Beer. Per due settimane, tutte le sere potremmo assistere a spettacoli di ogni genere, mangiando e bevendo delle ottime e rinomate birre anche internazionali.
A poca distanza da Cassino, in un piccolo e suggestivo paese Atina, ci sarà in Luglio la famosa kermess musicale Atina Jazz. Gli artisti che si sono esibiti in passato sono stati straordinari, come il mitico Al Jarreau, Tito Puente, Jane Morris, Lenny White.
A questo punto non mi resta che invitarvi tutti a trascorrere le vs vacanze estive qui, e farvi assaporare le notti magiche di una estate italiana.
