Mr. Blackbourne's POV:
I had a lot to explain to the Toma team today. Last night when we decided to camp out- instead of keeping our car stuffed to the brim with a bunch of full grown men- Mr. Griffin shot out if his bed in a panic screaming for Miss. Sorenson, or more specifically his "peanut" which of course woke the big, one man Russian mafia- Raven- to wake up amd panic, pulling out a knife while letting out a terrifying roar as he prepared himself for a full out blood bath.
Sean- ever the mature adult he claims to be- of course damn near busted a gut he was laughing so hard, while the others looked between him, Mr. Griffin and Raven in confusion.
After I calmed Mr. Griffen I had explained to Mr. Axel Toma and his team that we would discuss everything in the morning. They let it go, reluctantly, and went back to sleep for about an hour before we had to pack up and leave again because of all the undead we managed to attract from the outburst during the night.
Now though, it's morning and time for an explanation.
"So about last night." Axel commented but the hidden question mark was there. I sighed as Sean barked out a loud HA! while Mr. Griffin turned red from embarrassment, and Raven started to grumble in Russian as he stroked Miss. Sorenson's kittens. They've taken a liking to him, surprisingly.
"Our bird, Miss. Sorenson is in another vehicle at the moment and I believe Mr. Griffin had some sort of nightmare that involved her well being...am I correct Mr. Griffin?" I asked as I arched a brow and turned from my spot in the passengers seat to look at him.
"Yeah, Mr. B." He replied with a nod.
"So, malen'kaya ptitsa (little bird) is name peanut?" Raven asked, his Russian accent weighed heavily with every word. Nathan and Sean had the good grace to blush and I shook my head shooting them each a look.
"No, her name is Miss. Sang Sorenson." I corrected before continuing. I told them about Max, and how we had met her, about her saving my life to which Sean added the story about her saving him and Nathan added how she saved North.
By the end of the story they all had a dazed look on there face and smiles.
"Don't worry Nathan, if I had a girl like that, I'd be screaming her name in my sleep too." Marc joked as he wiggled his brows at him. Nathan turned red and flipped him off causing everyone to laugh even I let a chuckle slip past my mask.
"So when do we meet malen'kaya ptitsa (little bird)?" Raven asked with a big grin before continuing.
"Maybe I find zhena (wife) in America all after." He winked. Corey rolled his eyes but had a smile on his face.
"Its after all Raven, not all after." He corrected but Raven just shrugged it off.
"Same." He replied and we all rolled our eyes at that.
"Well, if everyone's on time you all should be meeting Pookie in about 3 more days." Sean replied to the original question and they all nodded. Brandon who had been sitting quietly watching the interaction finally spoke up and I wasn't prepared to answer his question.
"So which one of you lot is claim her?" He asked curiously and the three of us froze before shooting loaded looks at each other. I wasn't sure any of us were quite ready to, or had been expecting to explain the dynamics of the relationship we were hoping to obtain with Miss. Sorenson. I cleared my throat as the silence began to turn awkward and steeled myself.
Well, here goes nothing...
Axel's POV:
After an awkward silence and a few loaded glances Owen, Sean, and Nathan explained that they were hoping to obtain a relationship with Sang like the Anderson team have.
From what I understand they dogs of that team all fell in love with their bird- Lily- during an assignment and in turn found out that she loved them as well. I had admired their loyalty to her and each other and from an outsider's perspective it seemed to glue their team together. Lily was the heart of their team and I had hoped on doing something similar with my team but Kevin had met his fiancé Mindy and the rest of us didn't really care for her much.
I had talked to my team as I noticed Kevin starting to distance himself a little and we came to an agreement that finding a bird and having a relationship like the Anderson team might be what's best for our family.
The rest of the guys agreed.
So hearing the Blackbourne team's plan didn't really surprise us too much and I told them so. I explained to them our reasons for wanting to do the same and they nodded in understanding.
"We've all pretty much fallen for her or in the midst of doing so. She's an extraordinary woman, so falling wasn't hard." Owen commented, while Sean and Nathan began to ramble on and on to my team about their bird.
I looked around at my team through the rearview mirror and could see the interest they had in this bird we hadn't even had the pleasure of meeting yet, as they all smiled and listened to the stories being shared.
I looked back an Owen to see he was already examining me. He had a calculating look on his face but other than that his mask was up and his expression blank, he have me a mid and a loaded look. We'd be talking about this later. I just wondered how well the talk would go over.
Raven's POV:
The malen'kaya ptitsa (little bird) that the Blackbourne team sounded perfect. Moi brat'ya (my brothers) and I had been looking for a bird such as this Sang as well before the world went to der'mo (shit) but hadn't any luck yet.
Now I wondered if we would ever find a malen'kaya ptichka (little bird) of our own. I was envious that in these times when the grebanyy mertvyy (fucking dead) walked around, they could find what moi brat'ya (my brothers) and I had been searching for. They're bird would blend well with us. I knew it. I could sense it from what I was told of malen'kaya ptichka (little bird).
I smiled as they told us about how she found and saved the little koshechka (pussycats) from a carriage house and how she convinced everyone even west (North) to keep them. They told us the koshechka (pussycats) names and I had to stop from laughing, instead settling for smiling to myself while cuddling the koshechka (pussycats) when I heard the little ozornik (Hellion) that tried to attack me the first day I got here was named after reminding her of West.
Oh yeah, malen'kaya ptichka (little bird) I see what you meant.
She's smart from what I understand. Brave? That's an understatement based on what she's done to help the others. A girl like her back in mat' Rossiya (mother Russia) would be receiving 100 fruit cups a day, so yeah. I could definitely see her on our team.
I hope the Blackbourne team learned that american expression...how does it go? In Russian it's translated Obmen yavlyayetsya zabotlivym (sharing is caring). Taking a look around at moi brat'ya (my brothers) I can see their thinking the same thing as I am because, well if not...The Blackbourne team is going to find themselves having one hell of a Konkurs (competition) for malen'kaya ptichka v serdtse (little bird's heart)...
