Usually my parents and I would spend our Fridays together, whether it be going out for dinner or staying home and watching a movie. There was one night when I came downstairs that my parents where in the kitchen arguing.
"You can't just bail on our family night, you know how much Angel was looking forward to watching that new movie!" My mother whispered.
"I know, I know she's been looking forward to it but, I can make it up to her next friday. And this is the first time in months that the boys and I have had a guys night." My dad replied back.
Before my mother had a chance to respond I walked into the kitchen and interupted there conversation.
" Sweetie, your father and I were just talking about family night. It seems that he has other plans with his friends tonight." She said sharply, glaring in my fathers direction.
"Angel I won't go if you don't want me to, the guys an I can reschedule, I wouldn't mind staying with my favorite girls." My father said to me while smiling at my mother. She seemed to have softened at his expression and soon lost the glare off her face.
Although I do wish he could stay tonight, I don't want to deprive my father from a social life.
"Dad it's fine, you haven't seen your friends in awhile, go and have fun" I said to him watching a small grin appear on his face.
"Thank you sweetheart, I'll be sure to make up for it next week" he said with a gleeful tone running up the stairs to get ready.
"Angel that was very nice of you, are you sure you ok with it? I know how much you love our family nights." My mother said sweetly.
"Yes it's fine" I smiled back at her.
My father raced down the steps just in time as the door bell rang. He kissed us both goodnight and said " I love you" but who knew that was going to be the last time we saw him alive.
