"What are they gonna to me, mom?" Said Alexa, who sat alone on the couch in their living room as her stomach ached in anxiety. Her mother was beside the TV that was a few feet in front of her. Her mother turned to her and then walked to Alexa to kneel down to her level as she tucked a strand of her brown hair. Alexa looked straight into her mother's blue eyes that she as well had.

Her mother smiled sadly. "I don't know, but I'm sure they'll take good care of you."

"Alright... Of course... We'll get her ready." Alexa heard his father in the background as he hung up on the phone. He saw Alexa and then smiled sadly as well. He walked towards them and knelt down to Alexa's level as well. His hand went up to her cheek and he ca-ressed it gently and slowly frowned. "You're... too young." His voice shook as he said it. Alexa's mother looked away for awhile then back again to give her to a tight hug. Her father joined in and she could hear their slight muffles and sobs. They were trying to keep it together. Of course they were. Alexa hugged them back, but she did not cry. She didn't quite understand the situation yet. Of course she was still 10 years old and not even a teenager yet.

Suddenly, someone was banging at the front door loudly and everyone stopped crying. "Hide her quick." Her father said, sternly.

"But what if–"

"Just hide her." He cut her off. "I'll deal with them."

Alexa's mother just nodded and hurried Alexa off to the attic. Alexa heard her father open the door as he talked to the people who were there. Alexa and her mother made it just in time in the attic and her mother had her hand over her mouth. Alexa's heart was pumping fast and maybe even so loud that her mother can hear it.

BANG!

Her heart skipped a beat as she heard that very loud bang. She wasn't sure if it was fire-works or a gun. She only heard a gunshot once or twice in her life, but she sure hoped that it was fireworks that fired. She heard her mother gasped and then she was instantly pulled up by her mother. Her mother peaked through the door for a moment and then she opened it and pulled her with her. There house was quite big, but not too big though. They ran across their hallway to the front door, but they stopped when someone held her mother by the arm, pulling her away from Alexa. She saw that several guards in all black took hold of her mother, who was kicking and screaming, demanding that they let her go. Alexa tried to get through the buff guards that held her mother, but her mother told her to stay away. Alexa didn't know what to do next, but to walk backwards. Then she tripped on something hard making her fall. Her hand felt wet and she looked at it to see blood printed on her hand. She stood up immediately in fear as she looked down to check what she tripped on. And to her horror she saw her father on laying limp on the front door. A pool of blood surrounding him. The worst part of it all was that his eyes were open and it showed a look of frozen shock that would paint his face forever.

"ALEXA, LOOK AWAY!" Her mother shouted, but it was too late. She saw everything clearly and right before her eyes. It was almost impossible to look away. Another loud bang that was so close that it made her ears ring. She turned to see where the source was and she saw her mother with the same look of shock as her father. A gun was pointed at the back of her head. She feel, knees on the floor, until finally her whole body faced the floor and Alexa saw a big bloody hole at the back of her head. Blood was dripping and squirting everywhere, and all Alexa could do was stare in horror.

Alexa was breathing faster, her heart was pumping hard, the world seemed to stop. "MOMMY!" She screamed, tears started flowing. Faint sounds of marching and walking and shouting were heard and it was like they were in slow motion. She felt someone pull her by the arm as she looked up to see a blonde woman who was looking at her now dead parents with a look of disgust.

"Pity." She said. "They had to do it the hard way." She then looked down at Alexa and that made her panic. She tried pulling away from her, but grip was as strong as iron. "Don't be as dim witted as your parents, child."

"Let go of me!"

"Dispose of their bodies before anyone sees this mess." She said plainly as she turned around pulling Alexa with her. "What a disgrace..."

"I HATE YOU!" Alexa screamed as she tried her very best to release herself from her grip. Alexa's blood was boiling. She had never been this furious before. She kicked and then screamed, not minding the blonde lady's look of annoyance.

"You twerp!" She shouted, and with one hand, the lady slapped her across the face. She almost cried, but refrained from it. The pain burned, she bet it left a big slap mark on her face. She found herself staring back at the doorway as she was dragged away. Everything was fading away. Like all the tiny particles that made the things she was seeing, were being blown away by some kind of wind that had the ability to do such things. And when she slowly blinked her eyes, she found herself floating in darkness. It felt... cold... What happened?

Six years later...

Alexa awoke, gasping for air. She found herself back in the wide white room and weirdly enough, she was laying down on the floor. Quickly, she stood up, and found a blonde woman with blue eyes about the age of 30-40 staring at her coldly across the metal table. She recognized her. Her name was Dr. Rose. A lovely name, not suitable for a monster like her. Every time she saw her face she would be taken back to the pain and misery she went through as a child. The experiments. The operations. The cold stares of scientist as she was presented on stage like a doll. She remembered those days very well and she re-membered the emotions she felt experiencing a line of such traumatic events. She re-membered not caring about what happened to because... Because of what again?

Alexa didn't realize it, but Rose was calling her attention. She snapped out of her reverie, only to find Rose looking at her vexingly. "I'm sorry." Alexa replied apologetically and sincerely as she could as she bowed her head. Alexa caught a glimpse of Rose's reaction and all she did was shake her head, and as usual, Rose did not recognize her politeness or efforts, and Alexa knew what lies ahead.

"State your name." She said as she deposed her attention on one of those high-tech clear glass tablets that was all hologram-like. Alexa knew that it was risky to ask questions, but curiosity won her over like a tsunami. "Why do you want me to state my name? You already know it." Then Dr. Rose looked at her with such indignation that Alexa thought she was going to send her to the tribulation room.

"State your name." She repeated in a very stiff tone. Alexa was relieved and at the same time surprised.

"Alexandra Jayden Maxwell." Replied Alexa, calmly and quickly.

"Date of birth?" She asked with the same stern voice.

"November 20th."

"Age?"

"16"

"Parents?" And with that question, Alexa didn't know what to say. She kept silent, afraid of herself that she couldn't remember who they were. But at least there was one thing she wanted to keep in mind. Her last name was Maxwell.

"Answer the question." Rose nearly shouted, but Alexa still stayed silent, even though she felt the urge to tell her why she couldn't answer her question. Rose slammed her hand on the table making a loud bang that echoed around the room. "NOW!"

"I DON'T KNOW!" Shouted Alexa in frustration.

"Hmm..." Rose mumbled as she looked back the hologram-like tablets she was holding. Alexa stared at her in anger and wondered if she could arose angry without being punished. Why not?

"What do you call that clear thingy you're holding." Alexa asked to see if something would happen.

"It's called a work pad, not a 'clear thingy' imbecile." She replied not looking away from her 'work pad.'

"Why do you have to say mean things to people?" Alexa didn't know why she was asking these questions. She knows what would happen if she opened her mouth without being told. But somehow she felt rather daring. Like she's willing to do anything.

"I'm supposed to be the one asking questions. Not the other way around." Rose answered, annoyed, as she furrowed her eyebrows. "Although... Since this is the Veracity room, we are forced to say what our minds think. So you are forced and obliged to say what's in your mind. That's probably why you feel daring to say what you think. But that does not mean you won't suffer consequences."

"So that's what this room is called." Alexa blurted out. "You could've told me earlier and save me all the worrying."

"I see your personality reflects more in your mind." Rose said, not taking her attention away from the work pad. "I find it highly annoying and would you just stop."

"How do you work those things?" Alexa kept on going. "Can you play video games in that thing or something?"

"16 years of age and you still have a mind of a four year old. Pathetic..."

"At least my mind hasn't changed a bit, unlike your rotten mind." Alexa said sarcastically. Making Rose look up, eyes widened.

"Excuse me?"

"Well, I'm sorry, grandma. It won't ever happen again. Do you want me to make some tea?" Alexa retorted, rolling her eyes.

"This is not how we taught you, Alexandra." She said in anger.

"You didn't teach me anything." Alexa replied in a stiff tone. "All you taught me was how to torture someone and make their life a living hell. The worst part of it all is that I was the example and I felt the pain. The needles, the operations, the near madness."

"All of it would benefit you in the future." Rose stated, emotionless.

"Benefit?" Alexa repeated in disbelief. "Are you saying that you did all those test because you wanted to make me a torturing machine?"

"Enough!" Rose shouted in anger. "Guards!" And in an a near instant, a group of soldiers in white came in with guns in their hands as they crowded Alexa and forced her up. "Bring her to the Tribulation Room!"

Even though Alexa was sent there countless of times, she was still afraid of that place. Usually she would stay calm and show no signs of fear, but oddly enough she lost her calm. "NO!" She kicked and screamed. "PLEASE! DON'T SEND ME THERE!" She tried to free herself, but there was no budging these guards.

"SEND HER OUT NOW!" Rose shouted in the background.

Alexa's heart was pounding. She was breathing fast, as she was kicking and screaming non-stop. When they reached the door, they went out and strangely enough, she stopped screaming. Her heart slowed, and she was breathing normally. Tears were running down from her face knowing that she will be punished mercilessly than before.

The doors opened and inside Alexa saw people in weird suits ready to give her pain. It was just how Alexa remembered it. It was dark so it was hard to decipher what was there and what wasn't and alien looking tools and weapons were hanging in all kinds of places. Of all the rooms Alexa's been to in this facility, this was probably the messiest one.

Alexa's heart started to pound again and she felt her hands getting sweaty. "Welcome back Alexandra." A familiar voice said. A woman stepped out of the dark. She had brown hair that was tied into a bun with white streaks showing on the side, blue eyes that indicated the lust for pain and madness; she also wore that same white clothing as her companions. She was the same woman from before she Alexa hated her the most. All Alexa could do was shake her head.

"Please don't do this Fiona..." Alexa whispered. But instead of mercy, the guards pushed her down to the chair that was in the center of the room and tied her down.

Flashback...

"W-what's that chair for?" Alexa asked in a small shaky voice.

"It's for electrocuting people." Fiona said who was wearing all white and had brown hair that had white streaks on it. "But we won't use that on you since that would cause major complications to the experiments."

"W-what are you gonna do to me then?" Fiona then looked at her with a

menacing smile as she revealed a black leather whip that she was hiding behind her back and in a blink of an eye it went crashing down on her arm sending a wave of excruciating pain that made her scream.

End of Flashback...

"I thought this would cause complications?" Alexa asked in fright.

"Oh... Alexandra..." Fiona said. "You never do stop asking question do you? It's why you're always being sent here." Alexa stayed silent once more as Fiona smiled. "Don't worry. You won't be doing any further major experiments... Crank it up!" The brown haired lady put a cloth inside Alexa's mouth as she was breathing heavily. In an instant, a wave of electricity went through her body making her scream. It was unbearable. Alexa felt like her whole body was burning and she could her insides being set to fire. It went on like that for hours, Alexa almost thought she was going to die.

These people were merciless. They didn't care. They will keep doing this until she dies. So why don't they just kill her? A river of tears went streaming down her face as she made sobbing noises. The people who were tutoring her probably heard her sobs because they suddenly stopped and asked the guards to bring her to her room. The guards went to her and untied her from the chair. Alexa couldn't move an inch. She was still too sore from the pain, she couldn't even stand. And every time she tried to move, a wave of pain would just go through her and it make her cry more. So they put her on a stretcher and they just threw her on there without even caring if she broke a limb or not. They exited the room. Alexa near to fainting. Her sight had become blurry. She stared into the blurred white ceilings of the facility. She doesn't look at the ceilings that much since she was afraid of punishment. So it was interesting to look at something new for once, even though it looked just like the walls and floors.

Finally, their endless walk to her room, which Alexa liked to call her "cell" was over as they neared. She heard the slow opening of the door— the sound of a spaceship opening their airlock —then her view changed to white to completely dark. Her room was dark and hexagonal in shape; in the right corner you would see her average sized bed, in the left there was a desk with nothing on it. Alexa would spend weeks alone in that cell, she liked it and at the same time it drove her mad.

They put the stretcher down and then set her down to her bed, after that,

the guards finally left as Alexa stared once more at the dark ceiling and then everything was black.
