"How come you don't age?" Bella asked as she drove back to Forks.

Next to her sat Aleida with her hands covering her eyes. She hated these vehicles, and would much prefer walking everywhere. She could feel her heart slamming in her chest from her fear and panic.

"At first I was just as clueless as you were, but then the other elders and myself decided it must be because of my soulmate." Aleida's came out muffled. "Are we almost there?"

"Almost," Bella replied absently. "You told the other elders, council leaders of whatever?"

Aleida nodded. "Of course, they were my host. It would be rude to lie."

Bella nodded in understanding, coming to a stop once she reached the treaty line. On the other side stood a deadly furious Edward. His body shaking in anger.

Feeling the stop, Aleida peeked through her fingers and let out a giggle at the sight before her.

"Oou, you're in trouble," Aleida sings playfully.

Bella shot her a look. "Aren't you suppose to bee this all wise being or something?"

"I'm still technically eighteen, I'm allowed to have fun." Aleida opened her door and landed gracefully on the ground. "Come along now, Bella. This should be interesting."

Aleida stepped just before the treaty line and gave the vampire a goofy grin. Her heart was beating crazily in her chest, reminding her of how close she was to her soulmate. She pushed the little detail away.

"It's a beautiful night," she chose as conversation starter. She stood just out of reach, waiting for Bella to join her. "Much clearer than usual. Perfect night for a couple to fight n the middle of the road."

The human girl jabbed Aleida with her elbow when she reached her. Not at all enjoying the way she was antagonizing Edward and making the situation worse.

"You can have this little couples spat later. Right now I have some things to discuss with you coven." Aleida spoke, her voice regaining her serious composure.

She sent Bella a wink before hopping back into the truck, buckling herself in securely before covering her eyes.

She was amazed at how large the home was. She didn't understand why they need something this fancy or big. Climbing the front steps, she was aware of the eyes watching her. She could feel his eyes as well, never once has he looked away from her.

Squaring her shoulders, she walked into to the room emitting her familiar aura. She would demand respect from these people. They were not her friends and she didn't want hem to be.

Ignoring everyone else, she turned her focus to the woman of the house. Moving forward cautiously, she gave the woman a slightly tense, slightly awkward hug.

"Many greetings," Aleida spoke clearly. "May the gods of old and new grant you blessings. I can already tell the Mother shines her light through you by the way you care for you... family."

Stepping away, she placed herself at a safe distance and in a position from which she could not be easily attacked. "May the gods look kindly upon you all."

"May they see you," Carlisle replies.

Aleida felt her lips quirk at his slightly awkward blessing. She could tell that it was strange to him and the others. He had tried, however, to come up with an appropriate response. It was a bit more personal, but still acceptable and kind in nature.

"It's a beautiful night. Much clearer then usual," she repeated the same words as earlier. From the corner of her eye she saw Bella shake her head. Aleida had to hold back a laugh. "It appears that you have found yourselves in a bit of trouble. I can't say I'm all that surprised. You should have been more careful, taken more precautions. You call yourselves a family, yet i still hear that you stand apart instead of united. Respect, loyalty and unity are the pillars on which a family stands yet-"

"Aleida," Bella calls. "Stop scolding them."

The girl looked around at their faces, taking in how a few look slightly guilty. Her Emmett looked like a kicked puppy.

Catching his eyes, her gaze softens. She could feel her heart speed up and she was sure the others felt it as well. A sense of longing grew inside of her, her fingers twitched to touch his soft curls. He looked like he was carved by gods just for her.

Pulling her eyes away, she looked towards the small woman next to Carlisle. "You will not be losing your family anytime soon. The pack stands with you."

A low growl broke through the room. Startled, Aleida faced Emmett. His eyes pain and angry.

"No." Hi voice was firm, but Aleida could hear the emotions behind it.

"We will fight by your side for Bella, as well as the protection of the town," she stated. Her soulmate took a step forward, she countered y taking her own threatening step. "I have made a vow to them, and to the gods. It must be honored."

Emmett shook his head. "I won't let you."

"I do not need your permissions."

"Women are made from iron and blood," Bella spoke. "I don't want her fighting anymore than you, but she can stand her own."

Aleida flinched as she heard a door slam. Looking around confusedly, she realized that Emmett had left the house in a fit of anger.

"The wolves want to make arrangements for training, practice. They will only watch, not trusting themselves to fight you," she spoke to Carlisle, a wicked smirk spreading across her face. "I, however, have no doubts concerning my self restraint. I will be fighting with you as a representative, of sorts, for the pack."

She turned to leave, not having anything else to say. "We will meet you later tonight. I must pass on the plans before we meet, so the wolves will follow your scent in," she called over her shoulder.

"How will you get back? I'll drive you!"

"No way am I getting back in that death machine! I'll walk."

It felt slightly odd to Aleida, walking in the trees on this side of the treaty line. They were unfamiliar, yet still very welcoming. she was mainly guessing on where she was going, but she felt it was the right direction.

She sighed in relief when she came across the meadow. The flowers and plants were still as beautiful as they first where.

in the middle she could make out tense, broad shoulders. He had his back to her, and he was still just as beautiful as ever. Bits of moonlight broke through the trees, landing on him, his marble skin twinkling softly making her lungs clenched. She would never get over the fact that he was hers, yet she could not have him. At least not now.

"Emmett," her soft was soft and light. She flinched when his shoulders tensed even further. Stepping towards him carefully, she lifted her hand. The urged to touch him grew stronger, she was unable to dismiss it. Her hand barely grazed is shoulder before he was standing before her in a flash. His eyes looking into her own. "I just- I need to touch you, please," her voice trailed off.

He didn't move. Taking it as an okay, her hand stretched towards his face. Ever so gently, her finger brushed along his jaw. The muscle tightened and his eyes closed. Both cherished the moment.

She made slow, precise work of it. Treating him like he was the most fragile piece of art. And he was, under her fingertips, he felt like he would break, shatter, if she willed it. Trialing her fingers over his lips, she saw his slightly longer canine.

Jerking backwards, her hand fell away from his face abruptly. Her eyes wide, she breathed heavily.

"I shouldn't have- I apologize," she spoke while taking steps away from him. "I need to leave."

"Wait!" Emmett called desperately. "What's wrong? You- I don't understand."

"I'm sorry. I'm so very sorry." She whispered.

"You can't go, not again," his voice trembled with tears he would never be able to shed. "Don't just leave me again, I can't bare you leaving me again."

Aleida shook her head sadly, tears welling in her eyes and fled to the other side of the treaty line. She made a vow, an oath, and she was going to honor it.
