Luna's night

She jumped up before panting and looking around her. It was completely black, as if no light were allowed anywhere near her. She shivered before standing up, trying to find some way out, only to find out that there were no doors or windows. The young woman looked up, noticing that the night sky was right above her, stretching as far out as possible, and then some. She smiled as she opened her wings, flying up into the sky and pausing. The air was deathly still and something about it screamed danger.

Suddenly, something wrapped around her ankle, weighing her down before curling around her body. Too late did she realize that the mystery feeling was a rope, tying around her wings and body, forcing her back to the ground with no breaks. She screamed as the floor got closer, knowing that if she hit it, everything would end. She couldn't get out of the ropes, not before the harsh impact that forced her to jump away, panting and searching her room.

It was the familiar blues and blacks she had painted herself, with a small pride flag painted on the corner, out of sight from others. The ceiling was decorated with glow in the dark stars, all of which were losing their glow. She turned to her dresser, only to find that her computer was still on, the battery life almost gone and flashing, warning her to charge it.

"Stupid computer. Why is it still on though, wouldn't it have turned itself off," She asked herself before curiosity got the better of her. She checked the computer, finding it open to YouTube and an old video of the YouTuber Markiplier. After a moment of confusion, she realized what the video was and why it was open. 'Raspy Hills' was a short spooky game that Mark had played a while ago, and she was watching the video to try and help with a reference on something or other.

She sighed softly before turning off the computer and left her room. She had made it a habit of getting something to drink if she woke up in the middle of the night. She yawned softly as she wondered through the house, rubbing her arms as she couldn't help but feel like something was wrong. The house was too empty, too quiet. She shook her head, pushing past the paranoia and focused on her goal. She walked into the kitchen before getting herself some tea, more than happy to have something so cool and sweet. It helped her relax and made her a bit more tired than before, something she had hoped would happen.

She finished her tea before going back to her room, laying down and tried to fall asleep again. She stared up at her ceiling, daydreaming about something or other, her thoughts always returning to how unhappy she was. She didn't like her life, having thought of herself as a runt and thinking that there were too many expectations set on her, while others might argue that there weren't enough.

She couldn't help but let out a shaky sigh as she thought of everything in her life, how she wanted to start a new life, or just reset everything...but she knew it wasn't possible. After a few moments of thinking, she finally started to fall asleep again, but not before noticing movement. She opened her eyes again and looked down at where the movement was from, the bottom of her door. She looked at it, studied it before deciding that it was an intruder. Her mother wasn't up, and even if she were, she wouldn't have stood outside her door like this.

She glared at the shadow before silently getting off her bed and carefully opened the window. It was large enough that she could climb out of it if she needed to. She was honestly grateful for that. She climbed out before realizing that she couldn't just leave. As much as she wanted to, her mother was still inside, sleeping and unaware of the intruders. She couldn't just leave the older woman alone like that.

She moved to the front of the house, checking to see how the intruders got in. Surely they'd have had to open the door. But it wasn't. The door was closed and locked, as if no one had opened it and gotten into the house. She wondered how this was possible before going to the back of the house and checked the back door, which they sometimes forgot to lock. Yet again, the door was locked.

She growled softly to herself before climbing through her mother's bathroom window, one of the secret ways to get into the house. She stayed as silent as she could, opening the bathroom door to check on her mother before realizing that there was nothing there. It was as if the house had gone back to being empty, as if she and her family had never lived there.

She growled to herself before listening closely, trying to see if the intruders were close.

Nothing.

She walked out of the room and back to hers, finding that it was normal. She searched through her closet, trying to find her weapons. She pulled out her bow and arrows, ready to attack when a hand suddenly held onto hers and held her close. She tried to scream out when another set of hands pushed against her mouth, forcing her to be quiet.

She growled deeply, heat slowly starting to build, which made the second pair of hands pull away, letting her bite the first pair of hands, letting her go. She spat before turning and aiming the arrows at the man who held her, finding that he looked familiar.

"Who the hell are you? How did you get into my house," she hissed, the air around her getting warmer and a bit more uncomfortable to be in.

"That's for me to know, and you to find out. If I'm not mistaken, you're not human, are you kid?"

She hissed at those words. She hated when people called her a kid.

"Yeah, you were misinformed dip-shit."

"Ha, dip-shit, oh I like her~" another voice said, laughing very loudly. They had an accent, something familiar but she couldn't quite place it. They were male, their voice deeper than a female's but still light and soft...a strange combination.

"Shut up. I don't think that's language you should be using little one-Don't call me 'little one', I'm not a child," she interrupted, growling as her wings rose above her.

"Shut up kid. You don't want your mother getting hurt do ya~" the second voice purred, making her pause for a moment.

"You lie. My mother is safe and out of harm's way. Just leave us be, and you won't have to deal with me," she growled, pulling the arrow back farther, getting ready to shoot.

"Guess we'll have to do this the hard way," the first man said with a slight growl. She hadn't been paying close enough attention, otherwise she would have noticed the second male getting closer. She realized too late when they held onto her, making her fire her arrow, nicking the first man on the shoulder.

She tried to scream out, only to have a rag put on her mouth and nose. She breathed in for a moment before realizing what it was, trying to force it out of her system. It was too late, the chemical was already taking affect and making her drowsy. She struggled for a moment before slowly stopping, groaning softly as she felt herself being lowered to the ground.

"Thank you, I thought we'd never get her to stop," the first voice said, causing the second one to laugh.

"She's really good with bows and arrows, she still got your shoulder, even with the chloroform!"

"Lucky shot, just pick her up and we can go."

"Hey Dark, what exactly is she? She has wings, but she doesn't feel very powerful."

"A young demon or something? How the hell should I know? Just pick her up and we can go back."

"Ey, ey, captain."

She let out a soft sigh when she felt someone pick her up, the only sound she was currently capable of making. She was just too tired and the chemical worked too fast.

"Such a shame something like this isn't any more powerful. Might have actually put up a good fight," the second voice said softly, a slight laugh evident in their voice.

She couldn't hear the two men's conversation, her senses slowly turning off and she fell into a world of darkness, something she welcomed now. All she wanted was to sleep and to wake up the next day, to find that it was just a crazy dream and nothing more.

But a part of her knew that it wasn't a dream, that nothing would go back to normal and that her life had changed forever.
