Grant's POV-
Exactly one month ago my baby girl turned four the years have flown by from her first words to her first steps and now she can finally walk without any help my girls are both growing up so fast and now by baby girl is obsessed with baseball and that's all she wants to do and anything that has to do with baseball she wants. I really like how she likes baseball because that was my favorite sport in high school and still is to this day is my favorite sport. The only reason she likes it so much is because Caleb started playing two years ago when he was three and she likes doing whatever he does since they are so attached to the hip. She loves going to watch his games I think it's cute how much they do together
"Daddy" I hear my daughter say walking over to me with a little baseball and a small mitt on her left hand
"You want me to throw it to you?" I ask her and she nods throwing me the ball it's only a squishy ball so no one gets hurt. I toss the ball to her gently and she catches it she's been getting really good at throwing and catching since we have been doing this for a year now. I throw it to her for about 30 minutes while thinking about the years with Olivia and Emily. Ever since Olivia's first birthday when Caleb gave Olivia her purple bear and she took her first steps to him they became even more attached then they were before that. She takes that bear every where she goes and she doesn't go to sleep without it. Every day Caleb and Olivia are always hanging out either playing baseball or playing something else they do everything together it's impossible to take the other away from the other for a long period of time.
"Honey it's already 2:00 we have to be there at 3:00" Liz says to me she's talking about Caleb's baseball game we go to everyone of them and Olivia gets so happy to watch him play.
"Okay I'll get Olivia ready can you make sure Emily gets ready?" I ask her since Emily is already 10 and doesn't think she needs help at times
"Yeah and I'll get the drinks ready too" she says walking into the kitchen after telling Emily to go change for the game then kissing me
"Eww that's gross daddy" Olivia says about me and her mommy kissing I just laugh and pick her up
" ready to go see Caleb play baseball?" I ask her and her eyes light up
"Taleb?" She questions me and I nod laughing at how she still calls him Taleb even know she can say her c's
"Yeah you ready to get dressed?" I ask her she nods as I pull out a purple and white jersey that says Caleb's team name on it the Tigers it has his number 7 on the back but our last name cooper on the back instead of Walker we made Olivia her own jersey so she could be matching with Caleb and I also pull out a pair of jean shorts and some sandals for her to wear to the game after I help her dress she grabs her bear that's only 4-5 inches shorter than her
" ready to get in the car baby" I ask her holding her hand so she doesn't fall down the stairs
"Yep" she says as we reach the bottom of the steps
"I'm getting in the car with Olivia" I say to Liz and Emily when passing the kitchen when we get outside I open the trunk of the mini van and put three chairs in the car since Olivia normally sits on my lap or on the ground with her bear
"Get in the car baby I'll buckle you up" I say to Olivia and as I'm buckling her up I see Emily and Liz come out with a cooler and look to see what Emily is wearing to see a pretty purple dress I get in the car and wait for them to get in the car to get ready to leave
15 minutes later
It's was 2:50 when we got to the baseball field Olivia was super excited and was bouncing in her seat to go watch Caleb play baseball when we got here we wen to go put the kids down next to Annie who is five and Joshua who is eight and sat next to their parents and let the kids sit in front of us to keep a eye on them
"Hey guys" I said to rose and Jimmy sitting down after finding Caleb throwing with one of his friends on the team Luke who is 5 just like him
" hey" Jimmy and rose said at the same time 10 minutes later Olivia was sitting in my lap watching as Caleb was playing first base since it was coach pitch and they didn't need a catcher which is what Caleb was awesome at playing he's an all around good player he can catch throw and hit really well
2 hours later
After the game was over with Caleb's team winning 6-4 we were planning to go over to the walkers house for dinner since by the time food will be done it will be 6:30 and the kids would want to hang out like every day since everyday we are at each other houses eating lunch and dinner when Caleb comes walking up us after the game with his stuff
"Taleb" says Olivia out of my lap as soon as Caleb is close enough for her to run to him he laughs hugging her as she flies into his chest it's a every game thing they have been doing that since Caleb started playing.
"Good game buddy" I say to him after Olivia lets go of him ruffling his hair
"Thanks uncle grant" he says to me even though I'm not his uncle but he's know me since he was born I let him call me that all of the Walker kids call me and Liz by aunt and uncle and ours do the same for rose and Jimmy
"Yeah you did really good at first" Jimmy tells his son smiling at him
"Thanks dad" he says to him as he grabs Olivia's hand while she holds her bear in the other they hold hands all the time we have tons pictures of them holding hands. When ever they are around each other they are always holding the others hand. Normally we take him with us back to his house or ours so Olivia and him don't have to be apart and when we get to one of the houses he showers and changes clothes. We even have him a car seat in the car since he is with us so much. When we get to the car I move Olivia's seat to the bench in the back so she can sit next to Caleb. I hand Jimmy Caleb's bag so he can put it in their car so he has it for the next game.
"We will see you when we get home" I say to Jimmy after buckling Caleb and Olivia in the car and making sure Emily gets buckled before shutting the door and getting in the driver seat and turning the car every once in a while I look back to see how the kids are doing and when we are almost home I look in the mirror and see Emily on her tablet playing some game but behind her I see Caleb and Olivia holding hands but Olivia has her head on his shoulder and his head is on her head and they are both sleeping
"Can you take a picture of them on my phone for me?" I ask Liz and she nods looking back at them after taking my phone from me and snapping a picture of them right as I turn into the driveway. Since Olivia doesn't need to change but Emily wants to change into something more comfortable I take Caleb and Olivia with me over to the walkers house who live right next door to us. I unbuckle both of them and pick them both up then walk over to the walkers just as they pull into the driveway.
"Hey Liz went with Emily to go change real quick" I say to rose and Jimmy shifting Olivia over a little bit so her head didn't fall off my shoulder Jimmy takes Caleb from me and takes him upstairs so he can take a quick shower since he started waking up.
"Look at the picture Liz took for me in the car of them" I say to rose showing her the picture.
"Aww they are so cute" she says I nod smiling at the picture just then Liz walks in with Emily who is now in a pair of shorts and a shirt. All of us just walk into each others house without knocking anymore since we have known each other for so long.
"Daddy I want down" Olivia says after waking up I put her down just as Caleb comes walking downstairs in a pair of shorts and a old baseball shirt. All the kids walk into the living room going to watch tv or play with their toys.
"We are making hamburger and hotdogs does that sound good?" Jimmy asks us we all nod it's 6:00 now so food will be done in 30 minutes
2 hours later
Dinner was good we are all now sitting in the living room watching the kids play something and talking we need to get going soon since you can tell all the kids are tired since its been a long day for all of them.
"We are going to head out guys you can tell all the kids are tired" I say to Jimmy and rose
"Yeah they are almost falling asleep over there" rose says and I nod as the littler ones yawn rubbing at their eyes as they yawn.
"Emily and Olivia say goodbye to everyone" Liz says to everyone as I pull out my phone just thinking something might happen and I want to catch it on camera. They all start walking to the door with us after Emily says bye to everyone Olivia has already say bye to Joshua and he went upstairs going to bed.
"Bye livvy" Caleb says hugging Olivia and her purple bear, he kisses her cheek still hugging her which I take a picture of cause it's super cute and why not.
"Bye Olivia" Annie says quietly when Caleb is still in the process of hugging Olivia and kissing her cheek but Olivia hears her say bye and goes to say bye but turns her head and ends up meeting Caleb's lips totally on accident but I still take a picture because my little girl just had her first kiss.
"Oh my god" I hear Liz mumble "aww it's so cute"
"Yeah it's super cute they are each others first kiss" Rose says smiling
As soon as their lips meet its like a second before they both pull away with wide eyes staring at each other which I also take a picture of. He's still hugging her but slowly lets go as Liz tells her it's time to go and she walks over to me and I pick her up.
"Bye bye Taleb" she says smiling at him cutely and holding that bear he got her in one hand tightly.
"Bye livvy" he says again to her waving and smiling back at her.
"Bye guys will see you tomorrow" I say to rose and Jimmy as Liz nods following Emily out the door and I follow closely behind them.
30 minutes later
After getting both kids a shower and Emily going to sleep I see Liz walking into the bathroom to shower as I take Olivia to her room in just her towel to change her into some pajamas that have little baseballs on it. And putting her on her little purple bed tucking her in after handing her the purple bear that she hugs onto.
"You had your first kiss baby"I said to her smiling because if she ended up with Caleb I would be okay with that since he's a good kid and they are attached at the hip so I really couldn't tell her no especially to her big brown eyes. "I thought you said kissing was gross" I say to her laughing
"When you and mommy kiss its gross" she says and I laugh because she's four and doesn't know what any of it leads to when your older
"Goodnight baby girl" I say to her kissing her cheek
"Night daddy" she says falling asleep in matters of seconds I walk into the bedroom to grab some clothes to change into and go to the bathroom and brush my teeth real quick then walk back into the bedroom and see Liz laying down looking at the pictures of Caleb and Olivia from today
"I can't believe she had her first kiss today and we caught it on camera" Liz says
"Yeah my baby girls growing up" I say " but he's a good boy and I trust him and they end up dating I know that he would take care of her because he's been doing it since she has been born" I say to her thinking of how much he helped her with through the years. He's held her and gave her a bear she adores, she took her first steps for him and he's let her sleep on his arms and shoulders all the time.
"Yeah he's a good kid" she says " I just can't believe we caught all of Olivia's firsts on camera which surprises me because we didn't catch Emily saying her first or second word or even her third word" she says to me and I nod thinking of Emily's first word being mama then her second word being dada then baby since that was right around when Joshua was born.
"Yeah it surprises me too" I say thinking of how Emily always has been more of a mommies girl where as Olivia is a daddies girl for sure since she is always wanting me to hold her and play catch with her which I love since that means she hasn't grown up fully where she doesn't need me as much like Emily has.
"Goodnight" I say to my wife and kiss her for head when I see her yawn
"Goodnight" she says " I love you" she says falling asleep
"I love you too" I say then start thinking of how great of a family I have from my kids to my wife then to my best friends that have been there forever that's my last thought before I fall asleep.
Thanks for reading I think that is the last chapter of their younger years I just didn't really want to have to add flashbacks and with this you can get parts of their childhood you wouldn't be able to get with the flashbacks like how close they are and how Olivia's dad actually likes Caleb and isn't like one of those dads who threaten the guy for even talking to his daughters and now you got most of their background and all her first thanks for reading Everlark2000
