My Wasteland

I'd rather lay dead then to watch you turn and leave
Your four wheeled drive kicks up dust as I turn and cough
The Nevada desert my home
The Saharan Plains my world
The nights are cold
The creatures stay away
For they know a danger is lurking near
The days are toxic
My throat dry
I scream but the wind screams louder
The burning heat is my answer
Is this what you meant
by my wasteland
