*Soul's POV*
The wind blew through my hair. It was nice to finally get some time alone, where i didn't have to think about my problems. If only it were like this everyday. Sadly, life is never fair nor perfect. I sighed and I drifted my motorcycle into a parallel parking position. I liked doing that, since it made me feel cool. I got off my bike and strolled down the path to where you entered the forest and into the park. This place always let me relax. I kept walking and came to a halt, deciding to take in a deep breath of fresh air. Around me, I could sense the life of the small forest. It seemed at peace and for once, i finally felt at peace too. Then I remembered that in this life, there's no such thing as peace. My mind wandered, and so did I. I had reached the exit of the forest and the entrance to the huge park.
A strong breeze came towards me and made my clothing and hair ruffle the same direction as the wind. I closed my eyes to savor the soothing, icy touch the breeze had left on my skin. Childrens' laughter filled the air. I opened my eyes to reveal a group of kids chasing a full grown black and white dog. I began to walk when i noticed a bench and i made my way towards it. I took a seat and stared into the open. There were people strolling down the bricked path together, smiling, laughing, holding hands. That made me remember about Maka. I do miss her, but its just, i cant believe she'd let this happen. Its not like her. Oh wait.... Its mostly Kid's fault. Should i just forgive Maka now and remain uncool with Kid? After all, i really want to talk to Maka again without us having awkward moments. I sighed as my eyes fell upon a couple, holding hands, and holding eachother on the lush grass that sat a long way across from me. Envy burned in my stomach. That's a cool way to be with someone in the park.
Well done man, well done. If only i knew how to use Soul Perception without having Maka to help out. Only when im in my Scythe form and am resonationg with her can i actually hear the soul's wavelength. Id want to see how the guy's soul is like. He must be a more sensitive, yet subtle guy. Who knows. I could be wrong. He could be two faced. I shook my head. I shouldnt interfere with this type of thing. My eyes wandered some more until I felt something bump into my arm. I rubbed at it and looked down to see a football. "Watch where your throwing the ball!" I called out while i was looking down to pick up the football.
"Sorry mister... I cant catch the ball. Im trying to impress this girl by catching a football but i cant seem to catch it. Ive never played football." I sat up and saw a boy with dark brown hair and dark blue eyes. I handed him the ball and stared at him.
"Which girl are you trying to impress?" He turned around and described the girl.
"Shes over there, the one with long, pale brown hair and a light pink ribbon holding some of her hair. Her name is Lynette." He looked at me and i saw that he was slightly blushing. I could tell this one liked her.
"Thats actually a pretty name for a beautiful girl like her. Whats she like?" His eyes brightened as i asked him the question.
"Oh thats easy! She's very sweet and smiles all the time. Sometimes she can be quiet but other times, she's real fun to be around. Mostly every boy in my grade wants her to be theirs. I wont let that happen though because I'm in love with her!"
I couldnt help but grin. "Wow kid, you really are determined. You got spirit. Here's a tip for you. If you want to impress Lynette, dont show off for her. Stick up for her. To me, it sounds like Lynette can be a bit too sweet and can have a hard time sticking up for herself."
"Mr. Your right. She does have a hard time doing that."
"My name is Soul. And i figured."
"What a strange name. I like it. My name is Jason. And i guess. Well thank you, Soul. I hope-" He was cut off by a loud scream. "LYNETTE!" Jason screamed out. I turned to see some girls surrounding Lynette. Jason ran straight to them. He squeezed himself into the middle where he tried to defend Lynette. Suddenly the girls backed away and called out to someone. That's when a bunch of older boys came running towards them.
This cant be good. I got up and ushered myself to keep a fast pace. When i got there, I saw someone clench their fist and blow a punch. Jason's head lurched forward. I couldnt take it anymore. I had to help him. I jumped as high as i could and landed squarely right next to the hurt boy. I summoned my arm to turn into a blade and quickly it responded. A metal clang went off and my blade was huge. Everone backed up except for Jason and Lynette. One boy was brave enough to hurl himself at me. I thrusted my blade and hit me with the side of it, avoiding to injure the boy. The crowd gasped and turned to flee. The boy i hit got up and ran away too. My arm went back to normal and i heaved. "Are you two alright?"
"Y-yeah, i think so." Jason said holding his stomach.
"No, your not fine. They hit you hard in the stomach. And it's all because of me." Lynette said as she lowered her head and began to cry. Jason extended an arm to her shoulder and looked at her.
"Im fine, i promise." He smiled while clutching his abdomen. Lynette looked up and hugged him.
"You were so brave. Im glad you were here to stick up for me. Thank you, Jason." Jason blushed furiously. He glanced at me and i gave him a thumbs up.
"No, Lynette, thank Soul."
"Soul?" She turned to face me. "Oh right." She bowed. "Thank you, Soul. For your help."
"No problem. Its all good for small lovebirds." Jason and Lynette both looked at each other and blushed. "Well, I should be leaving now." "Why?" He asked disappointed. "Well, Jason, I have some business to take care of. I just needed a break, but my time is up."
"Wait! Before you go, how'd you learn how to make a blade come out of your body!?" Jason asked in amusement. I shrugged. "It's something i was born with. And i put it to good use by capturing bad souls." "I wanna learn how to do that. Then, I'll be able to protect Lynette!" I grinned and ruffled his hair. "Like i said, I was born with it. I suggest you'd become a Meister for a Weapon like me. Meisters wield them. Theyre the ones that do all the work. You do have determination and spirit. Those are good qualities to become a Meister." Inside my mind, Maka came to thought. She really has those two things in the bag. "A Meister. That sounds awesome! I know what i want to be when i grow up now! I want to be a Meister so i can save the world from evil!" Jason shouted. I laughed. "Then you need to get ready. If those are your plans, then i have a feeling i'll see you soon." I winked at him and gave him a fist bump. I walked away and heard him say, "Soul, I'm going to be just as great as you! Your my role-model!"
...........
I hopped on my motorcycle. Jason reminds me of myself in a way. And Lynette reminds me of Maka. How they both act towards one another is similiar to how Maka and I are. I smiled, eager to come back to Maka and reunite with her, for Jason has helped me realize that the one I love should always be cared for, even if were not next to each other. This right here made me realize too that Maka did care about me when the whole incident with Kid happened. All that i felt, was me being a total ass. Now i know that next time i see Kid, he's getting a real ass-beating. I sped across the city wanting to see Maka once again.
*Maka's POV*
"Nyaa, Maka, wake up." My eyes trembled as sleep was wearing out of them. I opened them fully and saw Blair in my face. "Hey Blair. Ive been sleeping alot lately." Blair purred. "Hey, Maka. I forgot to tell you that your dad gave me this book to give to you. I saw him on my way here earlier today." I smiled. "Really? Another book! Give it here. Ive been so bored lately too." Blair ran across the living room to the kitchen and back. Floating magically through the air above Blair was a hard-covered dark red book. I took it and read the title. "The One for Her. Strange book title." "I think its a good book title if ya ask me." She trotted to Soul's room and disappeared. My dad was probably the worst dad a girl would want, but he sure does have a knack for finding very interesting books. But why did he give me a love story? I read the prolouge.
'Teenage Anaya always kept her distance from guys. She knew how cruel some boys could be to girls like her. Not once did she ever experience the feelings of loving someone who wasn't family. That is, until one particular boy bumps into her. No literally, bumps into her. After awhile, Anaya has had strange feelings towards the boy known as, Kayto, who somehow, always brought trouble. She later finds herself attracted to him and she lets herself get in trouble with him. But will the trouble make Anaya think twice about the relationship between her and Kayto, or will it just take things farther for them both?"
I was left amazed. This book really did seem interesting after all. I smiled, reminding myself of Soul. I paused. Soul's mad at me. I dont even think he'll ever forgive me. Why should i be happy about it. I just wish this were all over.
I clutched the book as i feared for the worst. What if he did break up with me after all. A few tears almost escaped my eyes, but i quickly rubbed them, preventing it from happening. I sighed and placed the book down, knowing that I'd read the book later, but not too late since we had school tomorrow. Today was Sunday. Tomorrow would be Monday, and i think me and Soul have to pick a mission to do again. Me and him usually pick atleast two missions a week. But now, theres not a lot of missions out there. Once in a while, yeah, there were loads, but that wasn't so often. Soul and I were still working on making him a Death Scythe, but we havent encountered a witch yet, ever since Medusa and Arachne both died. I turned on the TV and watched some Criminal Minds.
After about three episodes of it, my eyes were half open. I was getting drowsy again. Whats up with me lately? Im for sure not pregnant, since im still a virgin, but whats making me like this? Maybe stress. That seemed to be the most considerable reason. Right when i was about to close my eyes fully, i heard a click from the door and it flung open. My whole body jerked up, and my eyes became wide with astonishment. Soul was walking in pretty quickly and shut the door. He sighed. "Home, sweet home." I ignored. "Boy, where did you go? Took 4 hours....." yeah it was already 5:30. Soul shrugged. I paused to look at him. I was longing to hug him, but i knew it wasnt right. He was still mad at me. "Maka....." I looked up, scared.
"I miss you.... Like a lot. It was uncool of me for being an ass to you. Your the one that has the right to be mad at me. After what ive done to you, your the one that really doesnt have to talk to me." Soul sighed and began to walk away. Inside, I realized he apologized and that we didnt have to fight anymore. Our problems have been solved. I jumped up and ran to Soul. I hugged him from behind and tucked my face on his back. He turned and placed his arms around me. "It's good to have us back, babe." I looked up and saw Soul smirking. How i loved that smirk! I couldnt help but stand on my toes and kiss him. We made out for a long time until Blair walked in as a cat. "Awwww, geez Soul. Why dont you ever do these things with me, nyaaaa?" I looked at Blair and threw a random book at her. She was terrified and sprinted off. Soul looked at me surprised. "You havent done that to Blair in a loong time..." I smiked and blushed. "Well thats because you are mine." Soul blushed a bit and smiled. He was mine..... That made me feel warm inside.
