Chapter 3
Fletcher followed my gaze towards the locker area. “What are you doing?” I scowled. “Just intimidating you” he said gracefully. “ok. I guess that’s not the same as being annoying” I said looking for Rosie. He looked at me startled. “Wait, you’re looking for Rosie? I didn’t think you meant it!” I rolled my eyes. “I’m not going to hurt you Fletcher, I’m too weak for that you know” I said while he held himself for protection. He looked flushed. I spotted Rosie at an empty desk. “Oh, she’s still working on that test” Fletcher said. “Wait a minute” I said coming up with some kind of theory. “She didn’t nag anything about a test” I said calculating the days she had said something about a Science test. “She nagged me about some thing sad I think” I looked as far as my memory could go. Nothing. “Wait, Fletcher. I need you to do some work for me” he nodded. “And that is…” he said waiting. “Go crawl and see what that test is named. He gulped. “Me? Why not you? Huh? Why are you the lookout? Huh? Why do you hate me?!” he whispered. I put my cold dead finger on his lips. “Shut it, you made fun of me right?” he nodded. “Good memory, now go do what I ask. Don’t make it a struggle” I said frowning. “Ok, fine.” He got into a position. “Ok count down.” I nodded. “Three-Two-One-Go Go!” I whispered. He quickly crawled and looked over Rosie’s shoulder. His jaw dropped as he came back. “I-I can’t believe it” he said covering his mouth. “What? That she’s still on the first page yet she’s on the super advanced Math Science History Reading And algebra, then no, no I can’t.” Fletcher uncapped his mouth. “No Jasmine, She’s a girl on the first page of a college application that’s advanced at Science, History, Math, and reading.” My jaw dropped. Was my best friend leaving me?
