"But Deeerrreeekkk!! It's so cute!" Stiles pleaded, scratching the beagle behind her ears. She yipped happily.
"Stiles, dogs are a lot of work to take care of."
"You're just saying that because you want a hamster!" Stiles scrunched up his nose in distaste. He'd screamed a little too loud however, as he attracted the attention of some of the other customers around the pet store.
"Hamsters are less work!"
"Maybe that's true, but your wolfy ass would probably just eat it anyway!" Stiles flailed at him, causing his hand to knock a leash off of a nearby display rack.
Derek sighed and ran his hand over his face. "Alright, fine. But only because I love you."
Stiles flushed and wrapped his arms around Derek's neck. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!!" Derek smiled into Stiles' shoulder and hugged him back.
What had he gotten himself into?

Stiles: Look what Derek bought me!!
Scott: YOU LUCKY BASTARD ISAAC REFUSES TO BUY A DOG AHA DEREK IS SO WHIPPED
Stiles: Got any name ideas?😏
Scott: Is it a girl or a boy?
Stiles: Girl.
Scott: I don't know man, you and Derek should decide.
Stiles: K. Love you dude
Scott: Love you too
.....
"Scott says we should choose together," Stiles said, shoving a handful of curly fries into his mouth.
"I can't think of anything, babe." Derek pressed a kiss to the dog's little head and smiled up at Stiles.
"Maybe Talia?" Stiles said, smiling back. Derek reached over and took Stiles' hand in his, giving it a squeeze.
"Yeah, yeah I like that."
.....
"You do it."
"Stiles, you're the one who wanted the dog."
"Oh, don't act like you don't love her." Derek just chuckled lowly and snatched the bag from Stiles' hand.
"Fine, I'll do it," Derek said, bending down to pick up Talia's poop from the ditch. Stiles laughed.
"Thanks, Derbear!" Stiles sang, skipping down the street with Talia's leash in hand, said dog running after him excitedly. Derek had to restrain himself from chucking the poop bag at his fiancé. Probably wouldn't end well.
When he finally caught up to Stiles, he shoved the poop bag into his hands and snatched Talia's leash away from him. Stiles pouted but didn't fight to get the leash back. "You're mean," he murmured. Derek laughed and pressed a light kiss to Stiles' temple.

"Derek, what do you think dog food tastes like?" Stiles asked randomly one day at the dinner table.
Derek sighed. "I don't know, Stiles. Probably not very good."
"Have you ever had it? You know, because you're a wo--"
"No, Stiles. Wolves don't eat dog food."
Stiles huffed. "Well it's never too late to try it!"
"I'm not going to eat dog food!"
"But Derbear!" Stiles whined. Derek had to bite back a laugh at his childish behaviour.
"No. If you're so curious, why don't you try it?" He asked, taking a sip of his water. Stiles crinkled his nose in disgust and flicked a piece of rice at Derek. It landed right on his nose, which Derek quickly wiped off. Talia came running to eat it off the floor eagerly.
Derek scratched behind her ears and continued eating, listening to Stiles' pointless rambling.
He had no idea what Stiles was talking about, but all he knew was he had never been so happy.
