If I Die.

If I die,
I don't desire tears and heartache,
I don't desire a calm vigil and a peaceful funeral.

If I die I don't want silence,
I don't want you to leave them with a smile on their face.
I don't want you to be sad,
Or think that my life was worth the message.

If I die,
I don't want you to move on to another name.
I don't want you to remember to "#SayHerName",
I don't want you to let me rest in peace,
I don't you to let them rest at all.

If I die,
I want fire.
I want their lives changing for the worst in front of their eyes,
I want their children to be afraid,
I want them to stay inside their suburban homes and fear for their lives.
I want their world to become a hell,
But hell to them is home.
I want their schools to burn,
Because after all - they taught me I deserved to be hung from a tree,
Swing on a branch like strange fruit that never is picked.
I want their systems to become taboo,
I want their skin to become a crime in which punishable by death.

I want you to be violent,
I want you to take and steal,
And conquer,
Much like they did to us.
I want you walk,
Run to the freedom we damn sure deserve.
I want you to cry,
Not because I'm planted in the ground of Natives,
But because we won.
Because we fought for this to happen.

If I should die before I wake,
Pray to God,
My soul to take.
