I shook my head backing away from him. Why now? Why would he do this to me now, when I'm about to leave?

I turned quickly, walking out of his large house. I was leaving for Florida tomorrow to live there and he thinks now is the appropriate time to say I love you? I don't think so. I closed my eyes tightly before driving away from his home. I couldn't stand it, not now. Not when I was about to start over and be okay. Not after Jacob. He knew what that did to me. He knew it crushed me to have him leave me like that.
