~ Chapter 8 ~
Confession time. I hung around, just to make sure Bekka would be okay. I mean, seriously. First the Kraang and then she got jumped by Fong.
I crouched down on a building across the road from where Bekka entered an Apartment.
'Her 'rents picked a bad place to live.' I thought. They lived of the edge of Purple Dragon turf. What their luck!
I watched and watched and watched and watched. Finally a light flickered on, on the third floor.
"Took ya long enough." I muttered.
I jumped off the building and used my flying abilities a little to get the fire excape next to the apartment with the light on.
"Dad?!" I heard Bekka shout.
What was going on?
I opened the window next to my fire excape and climped in.
I stood in a room with a busted cage on a nightstand and a bunch of dirty blue clothes on the floor. Bekka's room.
I flung open the door and ran into the hall. Bekka stood to my left with her eyes wide with fear. She seemed to be staring at something.
"Sorry! Did I scare you?!" I asked.
She pointed right at me.
"Bekka, calm down. It's me, Nick."
She shook her head. Oh, shell I'm stupid! She wasn't pointing at me, she was pointing behind me!
I twirled around to get tackled by a pig.
"What the shell?!" I yelped and I hit the floor.
The pig snorted at me.
"What do ya want, Pork Chops?!" I growled and shoved it off of me.
I glared at Bekka. "You have a pet pig?!" I demanded.
"N-n-no! Thats my dad!" She said.
I looked at the massive big. It had tusks coming out of its mouth, a brass ring hung from its nose and, oh ya, it was about five foot ten.
It squeeled angrly at me and charged.
"Get out of the way, Bekka!" I snapped as I shoved her out of the way.
I thrusted my hand out and a gust of wind shot out of it, making Porkers ram into the wall.
"How is your dad a mutant?! And how is he a mutant pig?!" I demanded.
"He-he must have found my mutagin and drank it! And he works at a buchery shop down town. Maybe thats why he's a pig!" She stammered nerviously.
"Why does everyone's dad's get mutated except for mine!" I growled. I want my dad mutated!
I looked at Bekka. "You got any rope around here?" I asked.
"No, we just moved! And why would we need rope?!"
I shrugged. "Always come prepared." I said as Porkers let out another angry squeel and ran into the Living room.
"He'll rip the whole Apartment up if we don't stop him!" Said Bekka.
"Yeah, I got an idea. Distract him." I said.
"How?!"
"I dunno! Maybe if he sees you and heres voice, he'll calm down!" I said.
"Fine."
She ran into the living room. "Hey! Dad! Its me, Bekka! Your daughter!" She said. I really wished she didn't yell. A soothing tone would have been much more useful.
It squeeled and ran at her. Hopfully she dodged. Because I heard a loud CRUNCH!
I pushed my thoughts and my mind became empty.
'Focus, concentrate.' I thought in my head.
I stared at my hands. A rope. An old fashion rope, maybe steel.
My hands began to glow a harsh light and when it died a rope was in my hands with a cowboy hat which I thought was quite unnessisary.
I cluched the rope in my hands and ran out of the hall.
"Hey Porkers!" I shouted.
It turned and glared at me. I held up my rope.
"Wanna play a rodeo game?" I asked, smirking.
"Where did you get the rope?!" Asked Bekka in amaze meant.
I mouthed 'Later.' And focused back on her dad.
I threw the rope and it acted like a whip and lashed around its fat, chubby neck.
It squeeled again which was getting pretty annoying and started running. The rope yanked me with and the next thing I knew, I was on the floor being dragged by a mutant pig.
I slowly stood up and dug my heels in the carpet.
"Slow down, you stupid piece of bacon!" I snarled at it. From some reason it listened and I rammed into it.
"Nick? How did you get it to stop?" She asked.
"I don't know. But I do know this: pigs rears smell disgusting!" I said and tied Porkers to a column that helped hold up the roof.
"Bekka?! Whats going on?!" Said a womans voice. I turned and saw a middle aged woman standing in the door way with a very surprised expression.
"Uh, hi mom. This is Nick! My new friend!" Said Bekka nerviously.
"I-i-i-is that a pig in my dinning room?!" She demanded.
"Uh, actaully Mrs. Smith, thats your husband." I said.
Bekka glared at me like, 'Why did you have to tell her that?!'
"What?!" She shreeked.
"Pfft, mom. Don't listen to Nick. She has a wild imaganation." Said Bekka quickly.
"But you found that ooze and it turned Charlie into a huge beast!" She said.
"Whose Charlie?" I asked.
"Pet. And mom, I found that pig. It was so lonely." She said.
Mrs. Smith gasped. "Bekka, why does that pig have a very large ring that looks like your fathers one-of-a-kind wedding ring?!" She demanded.
"Uhhhhh, it was wearing that when we found it?" Asked Bekka.
It snorted and started running around as far as it could go.
"Well, glad we got that all sorted out!" I said.
Mrs. Smith eyed me cautiously. "Is that a sword on your back, Mick?" She asked.
I glared at her. "Nick. My name is Nick. And no, its not a sword, its a Katana!" I pointed out.
"A Japanese sword." She said distastfully.
"Uh, yeah. Whatever. I really should get going-" I started to saw but my T-Phone started ringing. A picture of Raph popped up. The nerve of him.
"Excuse me. I gotta take this." I stepped into the hall.
"What is it Raph?" I hissed at him.
"Just wanted to check on you. You dissapeared without saying where you were going." He said.
"I'm at Bekka's. I really have to go Raph. I'll talk to you as soon as I get back. Bye!"
"But-" I hung up on him.
I walked back into the Living room.
"Mrs. Smith, just out of curioustly. Whats your job?" I asked.
"I'm a scientist for hygenic animals and process their DNA." She said calmly.
"Mmm hmm. And do you test chemical on the animals?" I asked also.
She nodded. "Yes that is why we moved. I needed a bigger lab to test...certain things on the animals."
I looked at Bekka. What didn't she tell me that?
"Why?"
"Oh, well Career day is in a few weeks and I wanted to ask people about their jobs. I thought I would ask you first." I said quickly.
Mr. Smith in pig form started to squeel and run around again.
"What is with that pig?!" Demanded Mrs. Smith.
"Uh, its a little wound tight. Maybe in the morning it will be more peaceful!" I said.
She lifted an eyebrow. "Oh really?" She turned to Bekka. "Bekka, I need to talk to you. In private." She grabbed Bekka by the ear and dragged her into the hall.
I heard a tapping on the window in the living room.
I ran over there and lifted up the window.
"Raph?! What are you doing here? How did you find me?" I yell whispered.
"Well, Donnie is a wiz at the computer stuff and we need to get home, now."
He tried to grab my wrist but I swatted it away.
"No, I can't just dissapear! Wait on the roofs until I get out."
He rolled his eyes and then nodded. "See ya in a few."
I closed the window and stood in front of it. Hopfully Raph left.
Bekka and her mom came back and by the glares on their faces, it wasn't a happy conversation.
I looked at their clock on the wall. "Well, would you look at the time! I better get going..." I started to say.
"Oh really? Such a shame. Oh well." Said Bekka's mom, not so sorry.
"Yeah, bye Bekka." I quickly waved good-bye but before I even turned the door knob, disaster struck.
A window smashed open and ten Kraang droids came in.
Bekka's mom crumbled to the floor when she saw the Kraang in the stomach.
Bekka looked at me like, "Help, please!"
I growled at the droids and took out my Katana.
"Time to bash some 'bots." I said and swung.
I smashed though them like they were made of warm butter.
But the last one decided to fight back.
It shot at me. Obviously I dodged. But they aimed at Bekka.
"Move!" I yelled as I shoved her out of the way and the bullet barley missed her.
"Thanks." She said trying to catch her breath.
"Yeah, now you owe me twice." I muttered.
I threw my Katana and it sliced through the Kraang's head. I walked over and yanked it out of its head.
"Great, they know where you live." I growled.
"W-w-what am I suppose to do?!" She asked.
I handed her a piece of paper and a pen. "Write you mom a note and your coming with me." I said.
She quickly scribbled down some words and put it on the table.
We jumped out onto the roof.
Raph was sitting there, with his arms crossed.
"Took ya long enough. Why is she with ya?"
I gave him the short version. "Kraang attacked, know where she lives, coming with us."
Raph rolled his eyes. "Great, just great. Where is she going to be?!"
I crossed my arms. "In my room. She can sleep on my bed and I can get the floor."
"Uh, thats okay Nick. I can take the floor..." Bekka started to say.
"No, your our guest. I get the sleeping bag."
"Well, lets just head back to the Lair. Kraang or cops, possibly both, will be coming soon." Snapped Raph.
I nodded my head.
"Is he always that grumpy?" Asked Bekka.
I smiled. "Nah, this is just his 'off' day." I joked.
And with that we ran from roof to roof al the way to the Lair. Even though Bekka had a few hard times jumpimg with the big spaces.
