CHAPTER 10

 *Harry’s P.O.V*

I watched her walking towards the elevator before the doors shut leaving her standing there. I know I shouldn’t have acted like that or said those things but I couldn’t help it. Was I ever going to see her again? Probably not, so why make the goodbye more painful than it had to be. I want to see her again, I really did, I meant everything I told her yesterday but I was scared. There, I admitted it. I was scared that I was falling to fast for this girl I had only just met and I didn’t want to hurt my heart more then what was necessary.

When I got home Louis and El were watching some film in the lounge so I went straight to my room and lay on the bed, feet touching the ground over the bottom and I crossed my arms over my face. I was so frustrated and annoyed at myself for just walking away from her.

After about 10 minutes of lying there, drowning in my sorrows I heard the door open and felt someone sit next to me on the bed.

“What happened?” Louis asked me. “I thought you guys hit it off?”

“We did!” I said still not looking at him.

“And you stayed the night at hers I’m presuming?” I nodded in response.

“But then I went and fucked it all up and now she thinks I hate her. I don’t, Lou I can’t stop thinking about her. What am I going to do?” he just sat there waiting for me to explain what happened.

When I had finished he said, “I feel we need some help with this because I have no idea what you’re going to do.” He stood up and walked out, back towards the living room where I presumed Eleanor was still watching the film. “Eleanor,” he said in a happy voice, he went and stood in front of the TV whilst I hovered awkwardly in the doorway. “You’re a girl.”

“Nooo, never,” she said sarcastically.

“Well young Harold here seems to think he has ruined his chances with this girl and I think it would be helpful if we got a females opinion on the situation. Plus you’re smarter than both of us put together…” he finished because it’s Louis even when he’s helping me he feels the need to flirt with his girl.

“Okay,” she smiled and turned to look at me. “What’s the problem?”

I walked in and slumped down in a chair creating a triangle between the three of us. “Pretend you’re Beth.” Louis began. “And I’m Harry, I spent the evening with you, then we went home and got to know each other by asking each other questions in a drinking game you made up. Then whilst making out you pass out due to all the alcohol and I look after you and put you to bed. Then in the morning I wake up, go shopping to buy food to make you breakfast, cook the breakfast, eat it with you after giving her aspirin to cure your hang over only to have your time together cut short by an annoying cousin of yours interrupting us, I then claim I need to go and leave. What are you feeling?” Louis finished.

“First of all, I wouldn’t call her family members annoying because that is not going to end well. Second did you say goodbye before you left of did you just storm out?” she asked me. I told her exactly what happened and waited for her response. “In that case, I am feeling horrid. I am hung over, just had the guy that looked after me and cook me breakfast leave like a complete asshole and I probably am currently destroying all things that remind me of him that could be in my apartment.”

“I was scared you were going to say that.” Louis mumbled under his breath.

“Uggg!” I groaned into my hands. “What am I going to do?” I asked them both. They exchanged a look before El started speaking.

“You really like this girl, huh?” she asked me.

“So much it hurts.” I told them truthfully. “I’ve never felt like this about anyone before especially someone that I barely know. And I’m scared that I’m gonna fall too hard and too fast and end up getting hurt.” I told them. I was aware I sounded like a teenage girl but I trust both of them with my life and I really needed their help.

“Then you need to show her. Show her you care about her. Tell her exactly what you’re feeling.” El said before standing up and slipping her arm around Louis waist whilst he rested his on her shoulder.

“And how am I going to do that?” I asked them desperately.

“You’re going to have to figure that one out on your own.” Louis told me. I stood up and went to leave but I did catch a bit of their conversation. “I feel like we just gave our son advice about a girl.” He told her kissing her cheek.

She replied, “It’s all just practise for the future.”

*Beth’s P.O.V*

Nicole had gone out to the super market to stock up my junk food selection. After she had calmed me down, I explained everything I could remember, every tiny detail about that morning and the night before. She decided we were going to treat it like a bad break up and watch chick flicks and eat chocolate all day. Reluctantly I had agreed but truthfully I just wanted to curl up in bed and cry until no more tears came and I fell asleep.

It was ridiculous me getting this upset about a guy I barely knew. I guess it hurt more because he was the one who walked out and just gave up, not me. I was not ready for him to leave. I wanted more to our relationship than just one night. I wasn’t going to give up that easily. But then I remembered it was his decision, I had obviously misread the situation and thought he cared about me a lot more then he actually did. I, once again had fallen for a guy I didn’t know. As my dad use to tell me when I was little, if you play with fire, you’re going to get burned.

Sometimes I miss my family. I find myself longing for my mum to hug me, stroke my hair and tell me everything was alright. I missed having my dad there ready to come to my rescue at a moment’s notice. Just because they preferred my siblings didn’t mean they didn’t care for me at all. They did, I just realised too late.

When Nicole went into my kitchen to get chocolate she was shocked when she saw my cupboards were empty. She tried to persuade me to go to the supermarket with her but I refused. I told her to go buy me whatever would last me a week and I told her I would pay her back. She left after I had promised not to start the film without her.

She had been gone for half an hour when I decided to turn on the TV to find something to watch as she wouldn’t be back for another hour or so. I was flicking channels when I came across a teen gossip show that was talking about One Directions concert last night.

“Liam and Danielle were spotted leaving the club early at around 12:30, presumably to return home and relieve their babysitter. Zayn and Perrie were next to leave at 2:45, they were laughing together and hopped straight in a taxi.” The reporter said. I knew I should turn it off but I wanted to know what she was going to say about me and Harry. “Our other three heart throbs are said to have left the club at 3:30, Eleanor driving, Louis in the passenger seat. Then Harry and a dark head beauty in a stunning red dress climbed in the car. We don’t have any confirmation but we believe it is the same girl he was photographed kissing outside of Starbucks on Thursday morning. Last to clamber into the car were Niall and his girlfriend Zoe.” They liked my dress. Good, it was meant to be liked I thought. “Harry was also spotted leaving an apartment block at 3PM this afternoon. It is believed to be where the girl he left the club with lives. This suggests he had breakfast and lunch with her. Is Harry finally thinking about retiring his player name and settling down?” Ha. Yeah right. I thought, he couldn’t have made it any more obvious that he didn’t want to settle down.

I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water. I looked around and saw I had one more box of kitchen stuff to unpack. I put the mugs in one cupboard and the plates I had in another. Lastly there were a few utensils left, I grabbed the wooden spoon and the ladle and opened the drawer I had placed the rest of the utensils in. That’s when I noticed the shiny black iPhone that was in the drawer. Harry’s phone.

It had to be, mine was a white iPhone and was on the sofa in the other room. I picked it up and clicked the button that lit it up. A photo of him holding a baby with a little girl climbing on his back flashed up. They must be Liam’s two girls he was telling me about. Seeing him with little kids just made my heart break even more and I felt like crying all over again.
