Niall's pov
"So why are you actually here?" I asked after her surgery, I knew maybe too quick. but I was concerned alright.
"Doing surgery isn't nothing." I added, she rolled her eyes at me.
"I'm used to it now, I guess." she smiled widely at me, as her eyes lit up. would she really be that happy about it. did she really had to go into surgery more than once. I'm a horrible friend.
The only thing she did today was smile. smiling at me. I was happy seeing her smile that much, when we were younger she never did it that often, but the did though, and I loved to see it when the time was there. it was a beautiful smile.
"You're used to it? what do you have Carmen?" I asked, as I sat down next to her, she smiled brighter, but this time it wasn't the smile that reached her eyes, but pain.
"It's nothing really." she gave me a reassuring smile, and squeezed my hand, the pain disappearing in her eyes, and she seemed to be calm.
Her hand was really soft, and warm. I liked it how our hands fitted together. maybe even perfect. like our song said. 'your hand fits in mine like it's made just for me'
"Why were you here?" she blinked her eyes curiously. but her smile remained, she was a positive person
"Well funny story." I laughed nervously, this was kind of embarrassing so if I just told the truth, but not all of it.
"I fell, I fell hard." I say vaguely, making sure it was true, in fact I had fallen.
"In which world is that funny." she giggled.
"In mine, and yours." I stuck out my tongue, and she giggled.
"I like your laugh." I wanted to face palm myself.
You don't say that to your friend, that's weird. You're a weirdo horan.
"You like my laugh?" She raised her eyebrow. "What is that supposed to mean."
she frowned and crossed her arms over her chest. She seemed so determined and I started at her. She looked so beautiful, I was looking at her way to creepy.I wanted to look away, but something held me from doing so. I tried closing my eyes, but again I couldn't. What is happening with me? am I falling for Carmen. Never! that would be a weird thing to do. She is just my friend. Nothing more.
"Like what you see?" she let her arms fall beside her, and I could look away again.
"Hmmm."
Niall horan your officially the most stupid person in the world, no doubt. You just said to your best friend that you liked her. How much worse could it get?
I looked up from my embarrassment and I saw Carmen, blushing?!? why was that, why did she blush.
"Because it's...uhm...weird...that...uhm...you know..uhm.yeah." she fumbled at her white over dress the hospital gave her. Her cheeks burned red and I could see her avoiding my eyes.
"You like me?"
Okay I was wrong, it could get worse. What are you Niall. Stupid!?
"What, no." Carmen giggled. And the little bit hope in me died.
She didn't like me.
So I had to make her like me. We were friends before, now we would be again or we already were friends. We found each other, it was fate.
