James POV
" How are you mom?"
" I am fine dear. I saw the newspaper. The pictures of you two have covered the pages. So when will you propose to her?"
" Soon enough..." I smiled.
" I am so happy right now. My son is going to propose. Let me give this news to your father and sister."
" I will talk to you later mom. I gotta go and pick out a ring." I ended the call. I want to do the perfect proposal for her.
Right now I am keeping this a secret from her.
I dialled Cloè. "Hey, James how are you? And did you two make up?"
" I am fine. Yeah, we made up. Mia told you about it?"
" Come on we are besties she tells me everything."
" I wanna tell you a news Cloè but you have to keep it a secret from Mia okay ?"
" Okay, but what is it?" She asked me.
" I am gonna propose to her."
" OMG!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh " she screamed.
" CLOÈ! I have gone deaf now." I put my finger in my ear.
" Oh sorry I got excited. So when will you propose to her?"
" Soon enough. I am choosing a ring right now."
" My gosh...okay keep me updated and will come back to New York soon." She said happily.
" The reason I called you to cause do you know her favourite stone? I couldn't ask her that you know."
" yeah, I know it. She loves sapphire."
" Okay, thanks. Gotta go" I ended the call.
"I will take this ring please."
"Yes sir. Do you want to engraved something in it?"
" yeah...my angel" I was in the tiffany store right now.
"Your order will be ready soon. We will give you a call when it's ready."
"Thanks " I went out of the store.
I reached home. Mia was in the office. I took the pen and paper and started doodling.
I kept the doodle notepad on the table and went to the kitchen.
Today I will make dinner for her. I sent Maria home. It was not easy to work. I took 15 minutes just to pick out the right utensils. Then it took more than half an hour to get the ingredients to cook ready. How does Mia manage these things?
I started cooking and burned my finger in that process. I was going to start a fire but thank god it didn't destroy the kitchen.
It's a lot more work than it looks on the T.V. I put the food on the table and set the table.
I saw Libby holding her bowl and looking at me. She is hungry I guess. I put some pedigree in the bowl.
I looked at the clock. It's time for Mia to come home.
I hear a car stop outside our home. It must be her.
I opened the door. " Hey, angel." I kissed her.
"Hi, baby...umm...I smell food. Did you cook?" She asked me.
" Yeah. I did."
We went to the dining table. I already had arranged the table.
I pulled her chair and she sat down." I made Confit de canard, Ratatouille, Salade and Chocolate souffle with red wine"
She took out her phone and started taking pictures of it. " what are you doing? " I asked her.
" I am taking pictures. It's the first time you cooked. So it's a memory." She smiled.
" No need for that angel."
"I want to." She took many unrequited pictures. She looked at me and said," wow my chef. Everything looks so delicious. All lovely french cuisine." She digs in saying that.
Pictures of the food James cooked.
Chocolate souffle.
Confit de canard.
Ratatouille.
Salad. And
Red wine.
" Yum ....everything is delicious James." She said taking one bit after another.
I started eating too. This is not right why this is sweet? " Mia, why does the Ratatouille taste sweet? I am sure I put salt in that."
" which jar did you take? The one below the upper cupboard or near the sink?"
" bellow the cupboard. Why?" She laughed.
" The sugar was kept there."
" shit." That's why it tastes funny. "You don't have to eat that. It's not good. " I going to take the plate away but she didn't let me.
" No way this is a lovely meal. I am gonna eat it all."
We had dinner then I took the plates to the dishwasher." James, what happened to the kitchen? " She looked at the wall." Was there a fire?!"
" Don't worry about it angel. I will call the painter and house decorator to repair the kitchen as it was. I had a bit problem cooking. I hope you not angry" I said guiltily. I knew the disaster I caused in the kitchen.
She hugged me," baby why will I be angry? It was your first time cooking these foods and you did a good job. You cooked a lovely meal for me. I am happy" she smiled.
" Thanks, angel."
" So Mr Chef and more hidden talent I should know off?" She giggled.
" well, you have to dig deep and find out" I smirked.
We went to bed after that. I cuddled with Mia. Her warm and soft and small body is very cute.
I love her blond hair. It's long silky, smooth and shiny. She faced me. " James I love you."
" I love you to the angel." I kissed her. I drifted in deep slumber hugging her.
Mia's POV
The dinner was lovely. James is the perfect and sweetest boyfriend anyone would ask for.
Every time I am with him I just forget about the world and time.
I couldn't have ever thought that Lorenzo would plan something so cheap to tear him and me apart. I feel very angry and sad at myself cause I fell for it.
Lorenzo is becoming very dangerous as time is going by. First, Leo gets in an accident then James and I get tricked. His next more will be some dangerous I can feel it.
I will not forgive him if tries to anyone I love now. This time I will protect the ones I love.
I looked at James. He was fast asleep. "I am sorry love I doubted you. I will never again. Now I will protect you" I whispered touching his face.
I cuddled with James and drifted to sleep.
" James" I called him.
" Hey, angel." He turned around.
" How do I look?" I twirl around to show him my wedding dress.
" it's a lovely angel. You an angel sweetheart." We embraced each other.
" Mia!!" Someone shouted.
I turned around to see who was shouting my name. It was Lorenzo. He was holding a gun and pointing it at James.
" Your mine!! And mine alone!!!" After shouting that he shot James.
James lifeless bloody body was lying in my lap. I was sobbing endlessly "wake up ...James wakes up...WAKE UP JAMES!!" I shouted.
I woke up by James shaking me. " Angel...I am here!" I looked at him.
I hugged him."James..." I cried.
" Sshhh. ...angel I am here" he rubbed my back. I stopped crying.
" what happened angel? I woke up hearing you shouting and crying for me to wake up. "
"I had a nightmare. You weren't waking up"
" Shh. ...I am here baby. See I am awake. Nothing happened to me." I hugged him.
That dream scared me. I loved James very much and if something happened to him then I won't be able to live. Everyone is suffering cause of me. All because of Lorenzo.
My hate for him is getting stronger and stronger by minutes.
I am feeling both angry and scared of what he will do next. James pulled me to himself " try to get some sleep angel. I am here with you..." he patted my head.
I closed my eyes tried to sleep.
Morning sun rays hit my eyes. I woke up and saw James was getting ready for work. I climes on him," Hey love..." I kissed him.
" Hey, angel." He smiled.
" Do you have to go to work today? " I asked him.
" I wish I could lie here with you in the bed today but have to run. The foreign investors have filed a case because their products were damaged by one of our workers. So I have to go to Vancouver today."
" Do you have to go? " I was not feel good that he was going after the dream I had.
" Yes, angel. I don't wanna..but I have to."
"Oh...so when you will be back?"
" within one or two days. I will come as soon as I finish my work there." He kissed my temples.
" I will miss you..."
" I will miss you to angel."
I got out of bed too and got ready.
I was not going to work today so I dressed in something simple.
We had breakfast and James left for his flight after that.
One day passed by. I was standing in the kitchen making apple pie.
My phone rang and I saw James message." Got down from my jet and will be home soon. I miss you♡ :) "
" I miss you toooo love can't wait to see you.♡♡ :* " I texted back.
I made dinner and waited for him. I looked at the clock and it was 11 o clock. He is late. It shouldn't take that long.
I called him but he is not picking up his phone. I was getting worried.
Suddenly my phone rang and I picked it up hurriedly.
" Hello, James?..."
" hello. Excuse me...Am I talking to Mia Lindcon?"
" yes who is this?"
" I am the police. James Henderson has got into an accident. We found the car at the side of the road and all his belonging inside it. I looked at his phone and since your the last person he texted I called you. Can you get down here ma'am?"
My heart jumped stopped hearing that.
" I am coming."
I drove there. My heart was jumping up and down in my chest. I was on the verge of cry. I reached there.
" what happened? " I went towards the police.
" His car was hit by a truck coming from the wrong way." I looked at the car. It was crushed. My tears fell.
" where is James? Is he okay?" I asked them. They looked at each other.
"We couldn't find him...or his body anywhere."
I gasped and my heart stopped.
