Your Pov
"Hey watch out Iruka" I yell. Signaling at a branch in front of him.
"Thanks." He says scratching his neck.
"You always were a clumsy one." I laugh.
"Till the day I die" he says laughing as well.
It was a hot summer day and me and Iruka were out practicing our ninjutsu.
It had been almost 4 hours and the sun was beginning to set. It was time to return back to the leaf village.
We both head back on the path to go home. We were both dead beat tired. My feet were sore and it felt like I was walking on needles. The heat was giving me a headache. And to make matters worse, we had finished all of our supply of water.
"So I heard Kakashi's back from that mission with Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto." I say
"Yeah it was a difficult battle. He fought Zabuza." He says wiping the sweat from his forehead.
"Didn't he have an accomplice or something? He goes by the name of Haku." I ask
"Yeah. They had history together. The way the battle ended was pretty sad. But something good came out of it." He said smiling.
"Naruto must've really been happy." I say laughing.
"We all have those moments." He says smiling.
"If you don't mind me asking, what are yours?" I ask curiously.
"It's honestly moments when I can be at peace. You know, those times where you can forget about everything." He says looking down.
"Yeah, I understand ." I say
He smiles at me and I do the same. When we both looked up we begin to notice that we might have taken a wrong turn or something. We came across a dark and eerie part of the forest. I sensed a bad feeling.
"I don't like the looks of this." I say in a ready stance position.
"Me either." He says.
We turn around and head back. As we retrace our steps to get back to the right path, Iruka trips and falls. I immediately react by taking out my kunai knives.
"Iruka please tell me you're just being clumsy again." I beg.
"I'm sorry" he says getting up and dusting himself off.
I begin to laugh really hard that I had to hold my stomach. I was relieved yet a bit mad that he had worried me.
"You idiot!" I yell.
"Yes m'am" he says in a robotic voice.
"Why am I even friends with you?" I ask.
"Beats me. You just always seem to stick around." He smirks.
"That's not true! You always follow me." I state.
"Oh really? Tell me when exactly have I done just that" he says
"Well for starters you always send a request to the third hokage to pair us up in missions." I say crossing my arms while trying to look annoyed.
He looks at me with surprise and he begins to blush. "That's not true! I really don't know why we always end up together." He says making circles on the ground with his foot.
"Don't lie to me Iruka." I sternly say.
"Okay fine I may have done that" he says sending a cheeky smile.
"I thought so." I say laughing.
"Wait but , how did you find out?" He asks.
"Well I may have accidentally eavesdropped one time." I say trying to look innocent.
"Yeah sure." He says turning the tables.
Suddenly we hear a rustling noise up ahead of us. We could sense the chakra and noticed it was a bit unusual.
"Stay here." He says with a stern look. He goes to check behind the bush while I get ready for an attack.
After awhile or so, I stand there. Not being able to know what's going on. Should I go find him? I ask myself. After a few more minutes of debating I decide to go on ahead.
I pass the bush where we had first sensed the chakra. There was no one there. It was just a big open space except that there were less trees. I start to walk up a tree to try and get an aerial view. As soon as I reach the top, I notice nothing out of the ordinary.
"This is really weird." I say to no one.
I begin to panic as the time passes by. There was still no sign of Iruka.
Suddenly there was a big thump. I quickly run to that direction. With a kunai knife on my right hand.
"STOP!"
I look down and see an injured Iruka. My first instinct was to rush over to him and help him. But he had told me to stop. Which most likely meant I was being led to some sort of trap.
"He's fine." I hear a voice behind me say.
It was a shinobi from the hidden rain village. He looked calm and polite. But there was something about him that made me feel uneasy. He realized that I looked tense and decided to approach me.
"Stay where you are!" I yell.
"I'm not here to hurt anyone. I just so happened to be on the same path." He says with his arms raised.
I look at him and then at Iruka. He was wounded in his chest. Blood spilling from his knee. I decided to go down and help Iruka. Even if it meant having to battle this weirdo.
"Iruka are you okay? Talk to me please" I say while shaking him. I quickly gather myself and begin to tend to his wounds. I wrap his headband on his knee to stop the bleeding.
After I finished, Iruka began to wake up. His eyes were beginning to open. But when he did he looked behind me with his eyes wide open. Before I could even begin to comprehend what was going on, Iruka pushed me forcefully to the ground.
I then heard a big blast and was knocked out unconscious.

"Where am I?" I ask rubbing my forehead.
"You're alright!" Someone says hugging me tightly.
I then move away to get a closer look at this stranger. It was Naruto.
"What's going on ?" I say. Then it hit me. I remember that shinobi who spoke to me and that Iruka was hurt.
"IRUKA!" I yell. I struggle to get up but my body aches. Nevertheless I shrug it off and attempt to stand up. I had to know if he was alright.
"Calm down sensei. I'll take you to him. Just take it easy." He assures me.
Naruto helps me up and puts me in a wheelchair. We go out of the bedroom and straight down a narrow hallway.
I begin tapping my finger against the wheel as we wait for the elevator.
"What happened?" He finally asks.
"He saved me." I say looking down.
We both enter the elevator and he presses the button. He was only one floor above. Naruto continues to push me and we finally reach the door.
As soon as we were about to enter, Lady tsunade comes out with a worried look. She spots me and smiles.
"You're recovering." She says happily.
"Yeah. If it weren't for him.."
She dismisses herself and leaves. Me and Naruto both enter the dark room. There was a curtain covering the bed where he lay.
I finally got the strength to get up and walk towards the bed. Naruto opens the curtain for me.
There he was. All bandaged up. His headband was lying on a table, full of blood. His clothes were in a pile next to a chair. I approach the chair and hold up his shirt. There was a huge hole on it. I begin to tear up realizing that he took a great impact. More than I had predicted.
"Oh Iruka I'm so sorry." I say as I lay on the floor, crying.
"Y/n?" He whispers.
I quickly get up and look at his beautiful eyes. He had a few cuts here and there, but he looked perfectly fine.
"I'll be outside waiting y/n sensei." Says Naruto.
I nod and when he closes the door, I continue to cry again.
"It's my fault. I'm so sorry."
"I'm fine" he says with a weak smile.
I wipe away my tears and caress his cheek. I then hug him tightly.
"Thank you." He says.
"For what?" I say confused.
"Giving me one of those moments I enjoy. Being at peace and forgetting about everything." He smiles.
"I love you Iruka." I say.
"I love you too y/n." He reaches out his hand and pulls me in for a kiss. Then he lets go.
"I'll be here everyday until you get better, I promise." I say hugging him again.
"Y/n stay with me. Forever." He pleads holding onto my hand.
" I will." I say kissing his cheek. "That's if you stay with me forever and ever." I say smiling.
"I promise." He says.
He begins to gasp and cough like crazy.
"Naruto call a nurse!!" I yell.
He opens the door and nods, then closes the door again.
"Stay with me.." I say.
But after awhile he stopped. I check for a pulse but there was none.
"Please, don't break your promise." I say crying.
Shortly after a doctor and nurse walk in. I step away as they take a look at him.
"He's dead."

I always think of Iruka as a nice guy. That's how I kind of got the idea for this.
