Chapter 15
School was weird today. I kept on seeing shadows when I was alone.
During lunch we decided to go out to eat.
We were walking in a straight path like a couple of miles away from school. When Mia said,
"Dang it, I forgot my money. Can you guys wait here for me?"
"Sure."
"Ok."
"Thanks."
Sarah and I sat along the wall while Mia ran back to the school.
"So how's your job?" I asked Sarah
"It's awesome!"
"How does it work? Like you always have time to hang out and things."
"It goes by time, like I have to work in the morning and night for a couple of hours. But on weekends I also have to do noon."
"That's cool, spending time with your crush."
"Do you have a crush?" She was staring at me very closely and was excitedly waiting for my answer.
"I don't, yet." I looked down.
"There's no one you like?"
"I don't know, I'm just waiting for the perfect someone. You know?"
"Yeah, I understand."
We were talking and in the middle of my sentence there was a loud scream.
"What was that?" Sarah asked
"It sounded like Mia! Stay here!" I was already running back to school when I heard her answer.
"This can't be!" I yelled.
I ran faster and faster. Everything around me became a blur.
There was another scream.
"I'm coming Mia! Just hold on!"
I was at the school, but she wasn't there.
There was the scream again and I ran after the sound. I even saw the guys follow.
I ran and stopped. It felt like I can sense this things aura.
In front of me was a thirty foot tall monster that looked like a giant blue jelly.
The monster had Mia around the waist. Her head was hanging down and she was unconscious.
"Mia! Let her go!"
"Nice to met you, I thought that this would call you out." He smiled
This was the worst, I might accidentally get Mia, but I had to save her!
"I summon the rose sword." I held my hands out, palms facing down.
Roses came down and formed the shape of the sword.
I grabbed it as the pedals left, creating a sword.
The others came and something was different about them.
They each had a weird uniform. Which matched their element.
Zack was dark red and black costume. Kai had on blue with one white stripe on his arm. Alex was completely white with some yellow stripes here and there. And Nathan was brown and dark green with yellow around his waist.
I'll have to tease them later.
I charged at the monster, but all it did was stand there. My sword went into him.
"What the.." I was blasted backwards with so much force that I took out Kai. I got back up and helped him up.
"You ok?"
"I'm fine."
Zack called for his sword and a line of fire showed up. Kai called for his and the clouds seems to move and water formed.
A blue dragon was the handle. It grew and grew until the blade was formed. There was water that was wrapped around it, like a blue dragon that wrapped around the blade.
Alex summoned his and a whirlwind appeared in both of his hand. Two light swords with a sharp blade appeared.
Nathan summoned his and his hand was touching the ground. When he raise his hand up, a ground shaped sword rose out of the ground. He gripped it and the handle was brown. It was way bigger then anyone else's.
I charged again and cut the hand that was holding Mia. Alex caught her and put her far away from the battle.
Zack's fire sword went for the eye. But the jelly grabbed him and now he was in the jelly.
His anger rose his fire and he burned out of it. Nathan jumped from a tree and summersaulted into the jellies head, but he went right through.
He managed to go underground and come back up in another place.
I tried to slice his other arm and it fell to the ground.
But it was still moving and it formed a tiny version if the monster.
"What do we do?!" I yelled
"We can't even scratch this thing!" Nathan yelled.
"Let me try," Alex said.
A whirlwind formed under him. He was kind of flying with the whirlwind. Then with a swipe of his hand, another whirlwind was formed. This one was as big as his.
It reached the monster and when Alex closed his hands, the wind turned faster and started to slice the jelly.
The wind was like tiny blades, slicing the target to pieces.
The wind died down and Alex was back on the ground.
"Nice." Nathan said. But it was far from over.
The little pieces of jelly came back to life. Now there was about a million pieces of tiny jello monsters.
"How are we suppose to destroy these monsters?!" I asked.
Then one jelly bit me.
"Ow!" I grabbed it and threw it in a tree. It made a thump and splattered.
The little pieces turned into smaller jelly.
"Stop breaking them or there would be more!" Zack said.
"That jelly bit me and now I'm dropping blood!" I cursed
"There has to be a weakness." We were surrounded by jelly.
The five of us were back to back holding our swords out.
Jellies jumped to bite us but we were dodging and avoided slicing.
I saw jellies jumping tiny steps at a time towards Mia.
"No!" I did cartwheels over there and stood in front of Mia.
But it was a trap. All the jellies jumped on me and started to form together. They started from my foot and going up.
I sliced them out but they kept on coming.
The other one thousand was distracting the guys.
"Shailey!" Kai yelled. He was coming after me, but the small jellies grabbed his foot and was rising on him.
I was being bitten little at a time. They were sticking to me like lichens. I ripped then off and threw them farther away. But it wasn't working.
Mia moaned and was opening her eyes.
No! I thought. She'a gonna find out.
She focused on us, but then something covered my face. It was like a helmet or a hood. But I was glad for it. Everyone else had one too.
Zack had a blazing red mask. Kai had glittery black mask. Alex had a white mask tied behind his head. And Nathan had a green mask.
Mia screamed.
"Wha- what is that?!"
"Go! Run!"
Mia got up, but fell back down. A jelly was stuck on her foot and sticking to the ground.
The jelly was up to my waist I moved my feet as hard as I can and I fell to the ground. I used my sword to get up and the jelly on her foot seems to be pulsing, like someone's heart!
I couldn't reach Mia but I threw the sword at her and it landed right next to her.
"Hurry and destroy that jelly!"
I was fully enveloped and I couldn't breathe. My heart stopped and I was about to faint.
I thought this was the end, but the jelly melted into water.
"Nooo!" The monster yelled, but he was gone.
Alex and Nathan helped me up while I was trying to catch my breath.
My sword turned to pedals in Mia's hands. And she was breathing hard like she just did the hardest work ever.
Why at this time! I thought. But I was turning pale and I fainted. While Mia yelled for my name and didn't dare to come forward.
I whispered, "Don't..take..me..to" then I was out.
