Emma's POV
I woke up in the morning and walked into the bathroom. When I walk in there I see Jeremy brushing his teethe.
"Sorry" I tell him and I am starting to walk back out when he stops me
"Oh no that's cool. I'm done" he tells me and I walk over to the sink
"Your up early. Where are you going?" I ask him as I grab my toothbrush
"Police station" he says "we're going to organize a search party for Vicki" he says and starts to walk back into my room
"Wait! Shouldn't you be going to school?" I say to him and turns around to look at me
"You're kidding me right?"
"No you should go to school. If they find her they will let us know. That's what cellphones are for" I tell him
"Your lips keep moving and I don't know why" he says with attitude and then walks back into his room.

After I get ready I head over to the Stefan's. I walk up to the door and ring the bell. The door opens and there stands Damon Salvatore
"Is Stefan here?" I ask him
"Yep" he replies
"Where is he?" I ask him trying to get on with it
"Well good morning to you too little miss 'I'm on a mission'" he says to and I narrow my eyes at him
"How can you be so arrogant and glib after everything you did?" I ask him
"How can you be so brave and stupid to call and vampire arrogant and glib?"
"If you wanted me dead I would be dead" I point out
"Yes you would be"
"But I'm not"
"Yet"
"... Where's Stefan?" I ask again
"Upstairs, singing 'the rain in Spain.' Knock yourself out" he tells me and walks through the door. I go in and close the door behind me
I walk to the bottom of the stairs "Stefan!" I call out and then I hear something behind me. I turn around "stefan?"
"Yes" I turn back around to see Stefan on the stairs
"Where's Vicki?" I ask
He puts his finger to his lip telling me to be quite "she's upstairs" he tells me as he walks down the stairs
"What happens now? Because my brother is out there looking for her" I tell him "what do I tell him?"
"I'm working with her" he tells me "it's going to take time. She has a very vital and impulsive personality. Plus she's a drug user. All that plays into how her body reacts"
"So she's a vampire with issues" I state "what am I supposed to do because I am lying to everyone I care about. What am I supposed to tell them?"
"I'm going to keep her here with me until I know she's safe" he tells me
"How long is that?" We look up the stairs to see Vicki coming down
"We can talk about that later" Stefan tells her
"Hey Vicki how are you?" I ask trying not to push her buttons
"How am I?" She says snarky "your kidding right?"

We are in the kitchen now and she is sitting at the end of the table with Stefan on her left and I am sitting on his other side.
"Coffee is our friend" he tells her "it circulates through our veins. Keeps us warm so we're not cold to the touch"
"What if I want to drink human blood" Vicki says and that makes me nervous
"Your going to have to learn to control that urge and fight it on a daily bases" Stefan tells her "one step at a time"
"Ugh don't start with that whole 12 steps thing" she says "school counselor has been down that road trust me it doesn't work" she looks down at her nails
"It can work. You just have to want it to" Stefan said
"So you've never tasted human blood?" She asked with a smirk
He doesn't talk for a while "not for a long time"
"How long?" She asked
"Years and years" he said and I looked shocked "look I am not proud of the things I have done in my past"
"Ugh does this sketchy feeling ever go away" she complains "it's like I have a massive hangover. And this daylight thing is a bitch!" She continues and then stands up "I need more blood. Where's your bathroom? I have to pee wait! Why do I have to pee I thought I was dead?" Stefan points behind him to the bathroom and she walks out.
"I'm going to get her some more..." He trails off and I look at him slightly uncomfortable "right. I'll be right back" he gets up to get more blood
Vicki walks back into the room "false alarm. My body is being funky. It's a good funk though" she picks up her phone to call someone and I stand up
"Who are you calling?" I ask her
"Jeremy" she tells me
"Vicki you can't see Jeremy" I tell her
"Oh come on" she says to me "I'm going to see whoever I wanna see"
"Even though you could hurt him" I tell her
"I would never hurt Jeremy"
"I know you believe that but I can't take that risk" I tell her trying not to make her mad "your going to need to let him go"
"Oh really" she slams her phone on the table "how long have you been preparing your 'You're not good enough speech'? I suppose it predemts to the whole vampire thing"
"All I'm saying is Jeremy is not getting involved in any of this" I tell her walking closer to her and she scoffs "I mean it Vicki"
"Or what?" She challenges and I glare at her. She grabs onto me by the throat and pushes me into the wall and lifts me up "let's get one thing straight you perky little bitch. Your sister had my brother whipped for 15 years. 15 years. And then she dumped him" I'm confused I thought it was mutual "and since you guys look exactly alike when I look at that is all I see. Just so you know. And I'm going to see Jeremy whenever I want to see Jeremy" she leans forward in my face and I turn to the side "because I have some new toys to play with. And I will rip your little head off without thinking twice" she then drops me to ground and walks off. I start to breath heavy.

Me and Stefan are now on the front porch
"She threatened me Stefan" I tell him while I am rubbing my neck
"She's on edge" he tells me "imagine every sense operating on super speed. I mean she is uncomfortable in her own skin. And then you throw in her other issues-"
"How long before it settles?" I cut him off "hours? Days? Weeks?"
"There's no rule book"
"How long before you did?" I ask him
"A while but I didn't have somebody helping me. I had to do it on my own" he tells me "the thing is it is hard to resist certain people especially when you're new. It can be difficult to separate your feelings. Love, lust, anger desire, can all be triggered into one thing... Hunger"
"What does that mean?"
"It means that Jeremy can't see her. Not now. She could hurt him"
"Or worse" I state a little scared
"I'm not going to let anyone get hurt" he assures me
"I need to get going" I say starting to turn around
"Emma-"
I turn back around to face him "please Stefan. There's only so much I can take" I say and then walk off.

I walk into the kitchen to Jeremy and he just left Vicki another message. He gets the juice out of the fridge and walks over to the counter. He pours some in the cup.
"Hey" I say to him when he hangs up. He doesn't answer "do you want to hang out tonight? You, me, and Lena? We could go to the Halloween thing at school? Could be fun"
He turns around to look at me "uh sure. That sounds fun. Can't wait" he said and then starts to walk out of the kitchen
"I know you're upset with Vicki" I say to him causing him to turn around "but I heard she called Matt. She needs to get better Jere. The best thing you can do for her is let her go"
"What does that even mean? Let her go?" He asked "oh because we're such experts at letting people go"
"I know you don't see it but trust me Jere it's for the best" I tell him
He walks closer to me "for months after mom and dad died I felt like crap. Like nothing mattered crap. Then suddenly I get these moments where everything started to feel better and Vicki was in every single one of those. So you may not see it but trust me keeping me away from her is not for the best" he tells me and then walks out of the kitchen.

Me, Lena, and Jeremy arrive at the Halloween thing at the school. Me and Lena are dressed as nurses because we went as that for Halloween last year together with Matt, but Jere didn't dress up. We were walking and passed by some kids that Jeremy just had to scare so I hit him on the chest. We were walking and saw Matt walk over to us in his doctors costume as well.
"Went as last year's costume too?" He asked me and Lena
Lena didn't answer because things are still a little bit awkward between them "ya didn't know I was coming until an hour ago"
"Me neither" he replied and then turned to Jeremy "and you're going as you" Jere rolled his eyes and walked off
"His mad at me. We got into a fight" I tell him
"Ya so did me and Vick when she got home" he tells us and my eyes go wide along with leans " I'm trying not to smother her tonight but part of me didn't want to let her out of my sight"
"She's here?" Lana asks finally speaking up
"Ya you can't miss her, she's dressed as a vampire" he tells us. How ironic
"Where's Jeremy?" I ask getting nervous
"Hey Emma, Elena what's the matter?" He asks seeing our faces
"We gotta go" I say and pull Lena along with me.

Me and Lena are looking everywhere looking for Jeremy or Vicki to make sure they are not together. We decided to split up to go look for them. I see Stefan and Vicki is with him.
"Oh thank god" I say as I walk over relived.
"What's the matter?" Stefan asked me
"I lost track of Jeremy" I tell him "I was so worried"
"What's going on?" We turn to see Matt coming up to us
"Hey uh everything is fine" Stefan assures him
"I told you to quite bothering me" Vicki says to Stefan trying to start something
"Vicki don't do this" I tell her
"Matt he won't leave me alone" she tells Matt
He then turns to look at Stefan "you need to back off man"
I put my hand up to stop whatever is going to happen "no Matt it's ok" I assure him but he doesn't listen
"No it's not ok!" He yells at me and the turns to Stefan "what the hell is your problem?" He asked getting in Stefan's face
I then notice that Vicki is gone "Stefan! Vicki's gone" I tell him and run off to find Lena and Jere.

I found Lena and now we are searching for Vicki and Jeremy. We pull down a bunch of hoodies but none of them were Jeremy. We then hear screaming and it is Jere. We run outside to where the buses are and I grab a price of wood. When we get to where they are we see Vicki trying to bite Jeremy.
"Vicki no!" I yell and then she comes at me and I pull Lena behind me. I try to stake but she grabs it and shoves it to the side and then grabs me and throws me into the wood. I see Lena run towards Jere. Vicki starts to walk closer to me but Stefan comes and shoves her into the bus.
"Vicki!" Jere yells while Elena is still with him. Vicki over powers Stefan and shoves him off of her and vampire sped away. We start to look around for her.
"Go! Get inside!" Stefan yells at us. I run over and grab Lena and Jeremy.
We start to run for the door. Lena opens it but Vicki comes back and shoves them to the ground. She grabs me and bites my neck. I let out an ear piercing scream. Suddenly she stops and I look at her and see she is starting to turn grey. Then I see a stake in her back. I put my hand on my neck to stop the bleeding.
"Vicki! Vicki!" Jeremy starts to yell and Stefan goes over to hold him back along with Lena "vicki!"
I look at Vicki and then look up to see Jeremy, Stefan, and Lena "Get him out of here" I tell them and they start to walk off while Stefan calls someone.
I just stand there looking at her and felling bad. I don't just feel bad for her but for Matt and Jeremy too. I sit down on the ground and start to breath heavily.
"You should go. I got this" I hear someone say and I look up to see Damon
I stand up "you did this. This is your fault" I tell him
"You confuse me with someone with remorse" he tells me as he continues to stare at Vicki. I shove him and he looks up at me. I try to slap him but he grabs my hand "none of this matters to me... None of it" he then let's go of my hand and looks back down at Vicki
"People die around you" I tell him "how could it not matter? It matters and you know it" I bring my hand back and slap him across the face
He looks back up at me, smells the air, and makes a 'mmm' sound "you need to leave. Your wounds are bleeding and. You. Need. To. Leave." He tells me and I bring my hand up to my neck. I walk away from him.
As I am walking to my car I hear someone say my name and I turn around and see Matt coming towards me
"Have you seen Vicki? Wow what happened?" He asked referring to the blood
"Oh some idiot got me with some fake blood. I am actually going to go home and shower" I say to him as I point back to my car
"Have you seen Vick? She kinda bailed on me"
Right after he said that I instantly felt bad "I haven't seen her" I lie
"It's this what I'm in for? A life time of worrying about her?" He asked
"Your a good brother Matt" I tell him
"Ya" he says to me "maybe she went home?"
I nod "maybe" he then turns around and walks away

I walk up the steps to our house and see Stefan standing on the porch
"Where are they?" I ask him
"Inside" he tells me and I nod
I walk inside and go upstairs to his room. I see him and Lena together. She is rubbing his back. I walk over and sit right in front of him.
"Do you understand what happened tonight?" I ask him
"No" he answers "I don't understand. I mean I know what I saw I just... Don't understand"
"She was going to kill me" I tell him
"Now she's dead. Vicki's dead" he says more tears running down his face
"I'm so sorry Jere" I tell him and try to bring him into a hug but he shakes his head
"Make it stop it hurts"
"Shh shh it'll be ok" I assure him
"Why does everybody have to die around me?" He asks and I bring him into a hug not wanting to let go. I look up at Lena to see she has tears as well and bring her into a hug with us.
After a little while I walk outside leaving Jeremy and Lena. I turn to see Stefan
"Are you ok?" I ask him
He walks over to me and nods "I wanted to help her" he tells me and I nod "but instead uh... How is he?"
I shake my head "he's a mess" I tell him on the verge of tears "I don't want him going through this again. He's just a kid"
He grabs onto my hands "Emma what can I do?" He asks me "what can I do to help? I'll do anything"
"Can you make him forget" I ask him
"Emma.."
"Please Stefan. I just want if to forget everything that happened" I tell him
"If I do this there is no guarantee that it would work" he says "because of who I am. Because of how I live I don't have the ability to do it right"
"I can do it" I hear someone say from behind me and I turn around to see Damon coming up the steps "if you want me to I'll do it"
I turn back around and face Stefan "it's what I want" I say looking at him
"What do you want him to know?" Damon asks and I turn back around to face Damon
"I want you to tell him that Vicki left town and she's not coming back... That he shouldn't look for her or worry about her. He's going to miss her but he knows it's for the best" he nods and walks into the house.
I turn around to see that Stefan sat down on our porch swing. I walk over and sit next to him.
"Part of me wishes that I can forget too" I tell him honestly looking out into the yard "forget meeting you, finding out what you are, and everything else"
"That's what you want?" he asks to me
"Yes, it is" I tell him tearing up "because I don't want to be like this... I don't want to feel like this... But I can't... With everything that happened I can't lose the way I feel about you" I finally turn my head to look at him
I hear footsteps and I turn my head to look at Damon "it's done" he tells me and I nod. I look at Stefan again before I stand up and walk back inside shutting the door behind me.
