Raintail is quiet. He has extreme trust issues, but is calm. He is not social, but smart, and charming.

He was originally a loner, guided into the clan after his mate died bearing his kits Riverkit/Riverpaw/Riverwing, and Silverkit/Silverpaw/Silverpelt, and his mentor, Mokey. Mokey taught him and River the same ways of a medicine cat, minus Starclan. He does not believe in Starclan, but that of a different place he refers to as 'Beyond'.
