[_Natsu's POV_]
<~The Next Day~>
"Yo, Gray!" I say as my voice bounces off the walls of the school hallway until they reach him at the other end.
"What do you want?" He said slowly spinning around and leaning his back on near by lockers.
"Me and Lucy started a club. Do you want to join?" I say as I reach the position where I'm right in front of him.
"That's a funny joke Natsu, but it's so obvious that it's not true. I mean you two can't stay in the same room for 5 minutes without starting a fight."
Somehow I knew it wouldn't be as easy as I thought.
"I wasn't kidding." My voice flat as a board.
His eyes grow wide. "What? You guys actually made a club??"
"Yup."
"Dude I can't join a club! It will totally ruin my street cred!"
"Cut the crap already! We both know you don't have any street cred."
He looks away embarrassed. "Fine I'll join your stupid club! What the hell is it for anyways?!"
"Broken Hearts." I say smirking.
"Are you kidding me! I don't even have a broken heart! Sorry bro I can't join your club."
"Too late you already agreed besides we both know you want a girlfriend and that's kind of the other reason we made this club. To bring people together."
"Okay. Fine. When should I be there and where should I go."
"Good choice. It starts next week. Be at Jason's at 7 on Monday." I start to walk away before he could say anything else.
[_Lucy's POV_]
"Hey Levy-chan!" I sat to the bluenette as I walk through the door of the classroom.
"Hey Lu-chan! I saw the poster! That's so exciting!" She squealed cupping her hands together.
"It kinda is actually. So I was wondering if maybe you could do anything to help get people to join?"
She put her finger on her chin to signal that she was thinking. "Ah! I know just the person! I'll be right back." she raced out of the classroom and down the hallway because all I could hear was the fast clacking of her shoes.
Two minutes later Levy jumps into the classroom dragging another bluenette behind her. The other girl was practically a puddle of tears when she stepped into the classroom.
"Common Juvia! Pull it together!"
She just sat on the floor and sobbed.
I got up from my chair and kneeled down beside her. "Hey, I'm Lucy. Why are you crying?" I say very softly and comforting.
"Her boyfriend broke up with her yesterday." Levy whispered.
"I," she sobbed, "hate love." She slammed her fist hard down on the floor
"Don't say that," I say patting her shoulder, "I can help you."
I said it but I don't think it was the truth. I had given up on love yet I was still saying these words to her. I had no idea how I could help her but I couldn't stand to see her in this mess on the floor.
"R-Really? You can?" She said trying to stop crying.
"I can surely try."
She gave me a big hug right there on the floor.
"Thank...you." She cried into my shoulder.
I guess this was kind of the point of the club wasn't it. To help people. But can this really help myself?
I look up to Levy and she's smiling at me. I can tell she's proud of me and what I've done.
I pull Juvia off my shoulder to where she's looking at me. "Now let's get you cleaned up, okay?"
She nods and we stand up and make our way to the bathroom.
<~Back in the classroom~>
I managed to tell her about the club and all the information she needed to know without her turning into a bucket of tears which was a relief.
"That was Juvia. I met her at one of Gajeel's football games. Her boyfriend broke up with her yesterday and she hasn't stopped crying until right now. Are you some kind of miracle worker or something?" Levy questioned pointing a blue painted fingernail in my face.
"I wish. Then I could fix this own stupid broken heart of mine." I gesture to where my heart would be.
"Seriously though Lu you have some kind of gift. Even I couldn't make her stop crying."
"Well anyways we're kind of short on guys. Do you have anyone in mind? Maybe one that's not sobbing uncontrollably this time."
"Hmm, I'm not sure but I can ask Gajeel if he knows anyone."
"That would be perfect! Thank you Levy-chan!"
"Any time LuLu."
Just then the bell rings and class starts.
<~After School~>
When the last bell rings to signal the end of school I retrieve everything from my desk and make my way to the door. I step outside the classroom and notice a boy leaning on the door frame of the classroom across the hall way. When he notices me he perks his head up and starts to walk over.
"Hey, are you Lucy Heartfilia?" He said.
"Yes that would be me."
"Gajeel talked to me at football practice and told me to talk to you about a club?"
"Yeah sure common." I say gesturing down the hallway.
I'm a few steps ahead of him but he catches my pace and matches my footsteps.
"So what makes you want to join The Broken Hearts Club."
"Well... My girlfriend moved to the U.S. and I kind of never heard from her again so I'm still a little sore. I'm slowly trying to put myself out there again and I heard that your club is supposed to help bring people together."
"Yup that is the reason for the club. So what I'm hearing is that you're interested in joining?"
"You heard correct. Oh, I'm Jellal by the way." He said sticking out his hand.
I took his outreached hand and shook it.
"The first club meet is at Jason's next week on monday at 7. Don't forget."
"Sounds good to me."
I wave my goodbye and walk towards the stairs to the roof.
I step out onto the loose rocks of the floor and look up to the giant endless sky that surrounded me. Infinities surrounded by smaller infinities. The giant blanket that hangs over the world only waiting for someone to cut the strings and have it come crashing down.
It seems to me things happen for a reason. So what could possibly be the reason for why my heart still feels so empty. Without love I guess there's nothing else that can fill it.
The sun began to set across the city. Purple, pink, and orange rays of light bounced across the buildings until they were absorbed by the clouds. How could life be so full but so empty at the same time?
My elbows scrape against the soft concrete of the ledge while I rest my chin in the seat of my palms. The vastness of just this one infinity. It amazes me.
Just then a picture of Natsu pops into my head. I've been thinking about him a lot lately... Why? Maybe me and Natsu have our own little infinity. Ug this is weird. Why do I keep thinking about him. He's just a stupid idiot that happened to be there a year ago! He's nothing special! He's my rival!
Huh. That's kind of funny. Here I am contemplating the fact of infinities and Natsu pops into my head and I start yelling like a child in my own thoughts. I smile slightly at the thought. Why do you make me act like a child you pink haired idiot?
I decided that that was enough thinking for one day. I raced down the stairs and hopped onto the bike that I recently bought and pedled down the street.
I let the air flow around me and cover me in its vast blanket. My hair flew behind me as I pedled faster and faster down the street until I just let go. I let the wheels carry me away.
