"You're still burning up"
Oikawa let out a groan as he turned to his side and placed the covers up to his head
"I know ma" he said and he frowned as his voice got even more hoarse. He placed his hand on his throat as he coughed slightly "I'll just rest, I'll get better soon" he murmured as he closed his eyes
His mother sighed as she left his medicine on the table "Alright, just rest" she said before she left him
It took one week for Oikawa to recover.
"Morning Iwa-chan~"
"What the hell happened to your voice?" Iwaizumi said as he frowned
"Ah this is nothing" Oikawa said as he cleared his throat "I just got this along with my fever" he said and tried to laugh but nothing came out
Iwaizumi shook his head "You better rest your voice. Don't talk much"
"Alright Iwa-chan" Oikawa said as he gave the raven haired boy a thumbs up
"One more!" Iwaizumi yelled
Oikawa tried to say "Yes Iwa-chan!" But all that came out of his mouth was silence.
It surprised him and he wasn't able to connect with the ball, resulting in the ball falling on his face. He tried to yell out in pain but again, no sound came out of his mouth
"Shittykawa!" Iwaizumi yelled "What the hell was that?!"
"I don't know!" Oikawa tried to say but no words came out
"What?!" Oikawa let out a silent groan as he gave a shrug to Iwaizumi. The raven haired boy went towards Oikawa and frowned
"Why aren't you speaking?" He asked
Oikawa tried to respond but again, nothing came out
Iwaizumi sighed as he quickly understood what was going on
"Rest your voice, it will come back eventually" he said as he gave the brunet a pat on the shoulder
Oikawa nodded his head sadly as they returned to practice. The others found practice weird seeing as Oikawa was silent all the time. They weren't used to the silence the third year setter gave. They weren't used to it and they knew they never will.
