The entire weekend, Logan found herself worrying about Kellan's reaction. She knew she was wrong for what she had said, and there was no taking it back. The deed had already been done, so the only choice she had was to simply apologize.

It was a Sunday night, and she laid in bed, thinking of how the next morning was going to go. She didn't know how Kellan would react when he saw her, would he be professional? Would he ignore or acknowledge her? Would he try to have his way with her in the break room? Now the thought of that brought a tingling feeling to her core that had her heating up in anticipation. She didn't know what to expect from him, and she was a little too eager to find out.

On the fateful Monday morning which she was meant to begin working as his Personal Assistant, she eagerly got herself out of the bed with a spring in her step. It had been a little over a year that she'd been without a job, and she knew it'd take a while for her to get back into the swing of things and forming a well balanced routine every morning. She went through her morning quickly, not having enough time for breakfast, but the excitement bubbling within her helped her ignore her growing hunger.

Upon entering the large establishment, she took the time to take in her surroundings. Her nerves hadn't let her examine the place the first time she had been there, and now that she did, she couldn't help but appreciate the beauty. Whoever chose the color scheme for the place definitely had a thing for glass, mirrors, grey, black, and silver. Remembering the directions given to her on her first visit, she followed them, going up to the floor she knew was Kellan's. She approached the friendly receptionist she had met on the first day who had wished her luck, and smiled.

"Hi, I'm Logan and it's my first day. I'm supposed to be shadowing a Ms. Reagan Shaw." She introduced, looking at the name plaque that rested on the desk reading "Linda Sheridan."

The receptionist looked up, sending her an equally friendly smile. "Yes, Ms. Dennis we've been expecting you. Reagan is currently in a meeting with Mr. Keys, and it'd be impolite to interrupt that. In the meantime, I'll show you around so you can get acquainted with everything."

At the mention of Kellan's name, her heartbeat quickened. Her eyes involuntarily strayed towards the long hallway which she knew housed his office. She was eager to see him, but she had to put on a poker face. This was a working environment, and nothing said unprofessional like an employee blatantly lusting after her boss.

As the assistant showed her around the place, she couldn't help but admire the empire Kellan had built. This was what she aspired to be. A formidable force to be reckoned with in the business industry. She already knew the ins and out of business. Hell, she'd been groomed by her father right alongside her brother, but her only problem was finding out how to put that knowledge to good use.

She wanted to own her own business, but she just didn't know what kind of business she'd be into that she could enjoy while simultaneously making her money. She'd spent nights on the drawing board, drawing up business plans, but nothing ever made sense. Seeing Kellan's accomplishments around her lit a fire in her that had been dimmed for a while. She was determined to go back to the drawing board to figure something out because one thing was for sure, not only was she not a big fan of a 9-5 job, she definitely didn't see herself being someone's employee forever.

After being shown around the office and being introduced to the temporary office space she'd be occupying until the current Personal Assistant vacated hers, she begun setting the room up to make it more suitable for her. A knock on the open door startled her, and she looked up at a tall dark haired, mocha skinned beautiful woman impeccably dressed in what she knew to be the newest Gucci spring women's line paired with Dolce pumps. She only knew this because she always spent her time watching videos of runway shows online, fantasizing about clothes she would no longer afford.

"Hello, Logan. I'm Reagan. You'll be shadowing me for the duration of two weeks until I leave, or maybe less, if you get a handle on everything quickly."

Logan walked up to her with a slight smile and outstretched hand, wanting to shake her. If this woman could afford these expensive clothes and shoes on a Personal Assistants salary, she could not wait to take her job.

"Nice to meet you. I can't wait to start. I've been looking forward to it all weekend."

"Good, now follow me and I'll give you a rundown of things." She stepped away from the door towards her office, and Logan followed. They walked past Kellan's office, and she tried to sneak a peek to see if she get a glance of him, but his blinds were shut.

"Is Mr. Keys in?" She finally asked.

"Yes, he is." Reagan replied without pause.

"Can I step in and say Good morning? Just so he'd know I'm here."  The tall beauty stopped and turned to face Logan apprehensively.

"He's already aware you're here, you don't need to announce your arrival to him." Eyebrows raised in apprehension.

"Oh." Was the only reply she could form as she twiddled her thumbs. "How do you know though? Did you tell him?"

"There are cameras everywhere in the office that feeds directly to a computer in Kellan's office. Believe me, he's seen you." She continued walking towards her office, rolling her eyes and Logan reluctantly followed.

In his office, Kellan watched the interaction closely, and already knew the wheels were turning in Raegan's head. She probably thought Logan was there to be a seductress, and he knew she'd be bringing it up later.

He was gladdened at the fact that she had asked Reagan about him, and he smiled, watching her discomfort at the apprehensive nature which Reagan regarded her. Reagan had a very domineering personality, and although he knew Logan could hold her own, he was pretty sure she couldn't when it came to her.

Staring at Logan on his screen, he admired the way the olive form fitting pants suit delicately enhanced her curves. He'd always liked the color olive, and now he liked it even more seeing how radiant it looked against her chocolate skin.

What on earth is this woman doing to me? He thought.

He continued about his day, trying to keep busy to keep her off his mind. As he went over a few important documents he would be filing away for Reagan and Logan to go through, his ringing phone caught his attention.

"Hello." He answered.

"Kellan Keys." The familiar male voice on the other end greeted, causing him to frown.

"And who do I have the pleasure of speaking to?" He questioned.

"It's been less than a year, Kellan. You couldn't have forgotten me that fast." The voice taunted.

Kellan took a deep breath, his anger rising upon realizing who had called him. "Wale."

"Bingo!" He exclaimed tauntingly. "Listen, I was just calling to say say hi, you know maybe catch up when my girl and I come back into town. How does that sound?" He laughed.

Kellan took notice of Wale's emphasis when mentioning his "girl", and he gritted his teeth in annoyance. Wale was just taunting, and he knew that, but he couldn't control his emotions when it came to him, and he didn't understand why. The taunting had been going on for a while, but it'd always been through emails, letters, passive things. This was the first actual contact he had made. The thought of those two coming back in town had him burning with rage, and he knew he had to take some kind of action.

"Well, I'll take your silence as a yes. I look forward to seeing you old friend." He laughed, before the line went dead.

Just like that, Kellan's day had taken a turn for the worse. He couldn't concentrate, and he couldn't get anything done. That call had brought back a lot of memories that he'd tried to suppress for months. The anger, the rage, the betrayal, and above all, the hurt. The emotions he was experiencing were too much for him to handle, and he finally snapped, pushing his laptop off the table, watching it crash to the floor.

"Fuck!" He cursed. "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!"

He picked up his coat, deciding to call it a day since he already knew he wouldn't be getting anything done. On his way out of his office, he ran into Reagan who immediately picked up on his foul mood.

"Kellan, is everything ok?" She asked worriedly.

Kellan grunted in return, his eyes speaking the words his lips couldn't form. She gently grabbed his arm, pulling him back into his office.

Logan stood there, raging with jealousy. He hadn't even acknowledged her, and she was standing right behind Reagan. The way Reagan talked to him, and how comfortable she was grabbing him, Logan couldn't help but conclude that there was something going on between them which only confirmed why Reagan seemed apprehensive of her. They had to have been intimate or something, because that was not a regular employer and employee relationship. She wondered if Kellan had a habit of hiring women he'd been intimate with.

Suddenly, she found herself feeling uncomfortable. Did he make it a habit of hiring women he'd been intimate with?

She eased closer to the door, settling her ear against it, trying to pick up on anything they were talking about, but she heard nothing. She groaned in frustration. What was she thinking? Of course his office would be soundproof.

As Kellan listened to Reagan ramble on after he'd explained the problem to her, he stepped away from her, deciding to pick up the mess he'd made in his office. As he was tidying up, something on his monitor caught his eye.

He watched as Logan paced back and forth in front of his door, obviously in deep thought. How long had she been out there? He had actually succeeded in getting her off his mind all thanks to Wale and his unwanted troubles.

He watched as she placed her ear against his door, obviously trying to listen in, and his brows creased in annoyance. To him, there was nothing more annoying than a nosy ass person.

Reagan, noticing his mood, walked up to him, placing a soothing hand on his shoulder.

"What's up?" She asked, following his line of sight.

She chuckled lowly before turning to him. "Whats up with her? She seems awfully interested in things concerning you. She never missed an opportunity to ask about you or where you were, or if she could stop by to thank you for getting the job." Reagan mocked, causing Kellan to laugh at her failed imitation of Logan's voice.

"Maybe she's just interested in her new boss, nosy." He mocked, flicking her nose with his index finger.

Reagan couldn't help the smile that formed on her face when she took notice of his lightened mood. She hated seeing him down.

"She's pretty, Kellan. And from the small time I've spent with her, she's definitely your type. That alone screams trouble. If I'd met her when she came in for the interview, I probably wouldn't have picked her to be frank with you. You don't need that type of distraction."

Kellan smiled at her, amused. Reagan had always been protective of him, and he appreciated it greatly.

"I'm gonna take the rest of the day off, Rae. Since I'm leaving, if you're done showing Logan all she needs to learn for the day, you guys can leave too. I'll see you tomorrow morning." He picked up his stuff and made his way towards the door.

At the sound of the door opening, Logan jumped away and stood to the side with her head down.

"Logan." Kellan greeted when he saw her and sent her a slight smile when she looked up at him.

"Hi, Kellan." She greeted, and he nodded in acknowledgment.

He continued on his way, not having anything else to say to her. He just needed to be out of the building to get some fresh air. He knew if he engaged in any conversation with her, he'd probably take his anger out on her.

"Where are you going?" She called out to his back. When he stopped in his tracks, Logan backtracked. "I...I mean, are you leaving?"

Kellan turned towards her with raised brows. Again with the nosiness. He took a deep breath making sure his tone would be leveled before speaking. "I'm taking the rest of the day off."

"Ok." She mumbled. "Is everything alright with you? I heard Reagan ask you that while we were in the hall, and I was just wondering."

"You were there?" He asked, surprised.

"Yea. I was standing right behind her, Kellan. I know this is work, and we have to be professional, but you didn't have to ignore me." She couldn't help it. Thinking about how he'd ignored her irritated her all over again, and she couldn't hide the bitterness from him. And the fact that she felt like he only ignored her because of Reagan sparked her jealousy.

Kellan could feel his anger rising again. He had been to caught up in his emotions when he stepped out of his office, and he hadn't noticed Logan with her. The fact that she was coming at him with the rubbish, especially at this moment, would only serve to push him over the edge. He really wasn't in any mood to deal with her or her problems. Fuck, I really should've just continued walking out of here. He thought. He took another deep breath before replying her with a tight smile. "Have a nice day, Logan. I'll see you tomorrow."

Logan was stunned. She couldn't believe he'd just blatantly ignored her. She made a move to follow him and put him in his place when a voice behind her halted her movements.

"Logan." Reagan barked, causing her to roll her eyes before turning towards her.

"Mr. Keys' personal issues are not your problem. His professional issues however, are. Which is what you're here for." She chastised, turning away from her.

Logan stood there, staring at the jezebel. She wished nothing more than to put her in her place, but being that she had to deal with the woman for another two months, she didn't want to start off in the wrong foot. She took a deep breath, calming herself before following after Her.

Reagan let her know they'd be leaving early, and she couldn't have been happier. She was starving, and she was in dire need of some good food. She packed up her stuff, purposely ignoring Reagan. On her way out, she waved goodbye to the receptionist and made her way outside to her car.

On her way home, she began to think. This was her first day of work, and she was already overstepping boundaries. In the beginning, she was the one who was quick to judge Kellan, thinking he'd hired her for personal reasons; but he'd been professional all day. He hadn't even sought her out like she thought he would, and here she was, being the one overstepping the professional boundaries.

She sighed, mentally face palming herself for being so stupid. Tomorrow is a new day, and she was prepared to go in with a new mindset and a different attitude.

Is anyone reading this rewrite? I made a lot of changes, and I'm not getting any feedback, so I don't know if I'm wasting my time writing this.
