Hey if you guys could leave comments or messages and tell me what you think so far I'd love to hear some feedback!! <3

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I arrived at the astronomy tower, walking into the classroom; Draco sitting at a desk near the front. I walked up to him and sat down, opening my book.

"What are we going over today?" I asked, looking up at him. He was staring at my necklace: the gold chain I'd received for Christmas. "What?" I said, touching the chain.

"Nothing." he quickly looked away, flipping through the pages of the book. I furrowed my brows, looking down at the book.

I woke up and couldn't help but smile. It was finally my birthday! I sat up and spotted something on my bed stand. It was a single rose, red and perfect in every way.

"Who's that from?" Delia asked, intrigued.

"I have no idea." I said, picking up the flower. I smelled it, taking in its sweet perfume which put a smile on my face.

I walked up to the astronomy tower, opening the door to the classroom we always met in. Draco was sitting at the desk he always sat at, but this time he had a worried look on his face.

I sat down next to him, studying his face carefully. He looked pale. Paler than usual and his eyes didn't have the sparkle of life they usually held.

"What's wrong?" I asked simply.

"We can't meet anymore." he answered. My heart sank which took me by surprise. I was getting used to our tutoring sessions and wasn't sure I could pass without him.

"Why?"

"We just can't." he said standing up.

"Draco-" but he cut me off.

"I'm serious. It's better if we don't see each other anymore." I shook my head and stood up.

"Is this your decision or someone else's?" he stayed silent. "That's what I thought. You know, if you let others rule your life for you, you're not really living." I left, hurrying back to the common room.

School ended with me barely passing potions and Draco and I still not speaking. Delia and I promised to write to each other every chance we got. Ron and I agreed to continue writing over summer even though he was visiting Romania.

"I'll see you later!" I hugged Delia. She smiled then walked over to her parents. I turned to leave, walking into someone.

"Sorry." I mumbled.

"You need to watch where you're walking." Draco smirked down at me. Why do I keep running into this boy? Literally!

"Maybe you shouldn't be such a stalker." I retorted, stepping past him. He stayed silent as I continued to walk away.

Summer was relaxing. My parents wanted to know everything about school. They were so impressed with everything, constantly telling me how proud they were.

Delia and I wrote every week. Her telling me all about news in the wizarding world and me telling her about things in the Muggle world. It was amazing how many things she'd never heard of.

Ron and I even wrote, although his letters were less frequent. Every time I saw his scribbly writing on a letter, my heart couldn't help but flutter a little. He told me about how Romania was and the dragons his brother worked with. I'd never even known about dragons until I met Ron. Then again, I'd never known about magic until I got that letter.

I received my new list of supplies I needed, meaning there were three weeks until school started and I needed to go to Diagon Alley. Since my parents were Muggles they couldn't go, but Delia agreed to meet me the next week so we could go together.

"Well, that completes the list." Delia said, stuffing the Hogwarts letter into her pocket. We walked around the corner towards the entrance. I stopped dead in my tracks. "What?" Delia asked, looking in the direction I was staring.

Malfoy was walking our direction with his father Lucius. It was ridiculous how much they looked alike. Both pale with pointy faces and extremely pale hair.

"He looks creepy like his dad." Delia said, pulling my arm. "Come on, we'll go in here." she pulled me into a side alley, stopping just inside. She turned to face me, her back towards the main street. "One day I'd really like to hit that kid. Smack that smug look off his face."

I laughed, staring at the street as he walked by. Delia was talking about something, but I couldn't help but stare as Malfoy walked by, his eyes locked with mine. That pointy face of his had an almost human hint to it.

"Oh shoot, I need to get back home." Delia said looking at the big clock over Gringotts.

"You go ahead. I still want to walk around. My parents aren't coming for another 30 minutes." I smiled. She gave me a hug, walking away towards the entrance.

I wandered in the opposite direction, not really going anywhere, but not wanting to leave just yet. I spotted Malfoy ahead, his dad and him turning down an alley. I scrunched my eyebrows together, picking up my pace until I reached the alley.

There were posters of a wanted man everywhere and a strange sickly smell coming from deep within. A cold wind picked up, blowing my hair back as I stared down the alley. I looked back, nobody watching and nobody really caring.

I walked into the alley, walking slowly and listening carefully. The alley twisted and turned until it reached a store. Borgin and Burkes the sign read, but there was no sign that it was open or anyone was inside.

"Draco!" I stopped, squeezing into a side alley. "Wait for me out here." Lucius ordered.

I peeked my head around to see if they were still there. Draco was standing alone at the side of the store. Right past where I needed to go. I sighed and slumped down to the floor. I'd be here awhile.

Draco's POV

I waited outside Borgin and Burkes, staring hard at the ground. Another year at that rat hole Hogwarts was about to begin.

Suddenly I smelled something I hadn't smelled all summer. Quendie. That sweet smell of flowers that always hung around anyone she passed. But the only time I'd seen her was on the main street. Our eyes locked and it took everything in me to keep walking.

But why was I smelling her here?

Quendie's POV

My heart stopped as I heard steps coming my way. I stood up, pressing myself against the wall as hard as I could. The footsteps got closer and closer and I knew they would find me so I pulled a book out of my bag, pretending to be reading.

I didn't look up as someone walked up, standing outside the opening.

"What are you doing here?" I looked up at Malfoy. He looked around, his face nervous. He stepped into the side alley almost too close for comfort.

"How did you know I was here?" I answered his question with a question.

"If someone sees you here-" he stopped, his gray eyes worried.

"Why? What is that place?" I asked, pointing at the store behind him.

"You really need to get out of here." he grabbed my wrist, his touch gentle and begging me to listen. I went with him, walking away from the alley we came through to the other side of the store.

He led me through another alley, twisting and turning, his hand still around my wrist. I stared at his fingers which were long and pale, like the rest of his body. I shook my head. The last thing I wanted to think about was Malfoy's body.

We stopped at a door. "Just go through here and you'll be back in the Muggle world." I looked down at the ground.

"Thanks, but if it's so dangerous why are you here?" I looked back up, his gray eyes staring back into mine. He must've noticed he was still holding onto my wrist because he dropped my hand, putting his behind his back.

"I-" he stopped. "Never mind. But never come back here." with that he left.

The rest of the summer went by faster than I would've liked, but I was excited to see my friends again. I hugged my parents goodbye and walked to platform 9 3/4. I dropped off my luggage and found an empty compartment on the train.

"Quendie!" I looked up at Delia who sat down next to me, giving me a tight hug. "So how were your last three weeks?" she asked.

"Fine. Uneventful. Yours?"

"Same." she shrugged.

The train let out a great amount of steam and the whistle sounded, signaling we were leaving.

"Hey mudbloods get out of our cabin!" we looked up to see Crabbe, one of Malfoy's goons. Malfoy soon joined him, smirking. Our eyes met and his smirk vanished.

"Your cabin?" Delia raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, we-" but Malfoy cut him off.

"Let's go. We don't want to take this compartment." his smirk returned. "Too much Muggle blood." his goons laughed and they walked away. My chest felt tight and I wanted to scream.

"That boy is terrible." Delia said breaking the silence.

"Someone ought to teach him a lesson." I added, wishing someone would do it soon.
