The Model and Her Personal Assistant by Jade Roldan
Chapter Ten | First Date
I'm getting ready for our first date. Well, my first date ever. I've never been into girls, as in ever. I don't really like interacting with girls who aren't family related or Krisean. I actually feel so nervous, for once in my life. The feeling that others say when they're having their first date, I'm feeling it now!
But I'm still keeping my angry act up. I'm not going to lose. Should I go for the formal or informal? Ugh! I sound like an irritating girl.
With nothing else to choose from, I settled with black jeans and v-collared gray shirt. Covered with a black leather jacket, and I topped it up with a pair of dark blue vans.
I lose the glasses and settled with the free contacts I got from the editor. Gotta look good to have a great first impression.
Satisfied with my look, I got out of my room and waited for Krisean to come out from hers - but she didn't. So I called out her name.
She did go out, and I've never been this disappointed to see her like this.
°°°°°
I didn't want to go out since this was my day-off, and I wanted to lay here all day. In my room, on my bed, in my PJs. And eat ice cream while watching TV. But I don't have a choice, do I?
I don't care if the date is in a resto or a walk in the park, I'll wear what I wanna wear. I'm gonna be the bitchiest bitch in this town today. I know he's outside his room, I'm purposely making him wait while I'm laying pretty here on my bed. I only got out when he called my name in a dying matter.
When he saw me, disappointment was written all over his face.
"Why'd you decide to dress-up like that now, Sean?" He said, frustration coming to the scene.
"Don't call me that, I hate you. And I don't care what you think about what I wear." I stated, fixing the tiny dress I wore.
"Can't you atleast put on some pants?" He asked me, almost sounding like he's begging for me to do it.
Beg more, and I'll think I'll reconsider what I'm wearing. Since, I'm not that comfortable too.
"Do I have to repeat what I just said?" I sternly asked back.
I saw him shook his head before holding my hand, leading the way in silence.
°°°°°
We walked on the sidewalk for a few minutes before we got to the city and I noticed people looking at us, this is a bad image.
"Don't slouch." I whispered to him, smiling.
"What?" He asked before obeying.
"Smile at me, stupid. If you want to make this work, act like you want it to work." I instructed him more.
He suddenly let's go of my hand.
"I thought you wanted this to be... Your instant fame." I said, more calmer on the end as he wrapped his arm around my waist.
"You were saying?" He asked, his eyebrows going up and down - playing on his face.
I gave out a light laugh, kissing his cheek. He looked shocked, then his cheeks turned red. Wow, now that's what you call great acting.
"Now, where do you want to eat?" He suddenly asks me.
"I want to eat ice cream!" I shrieked excitedly, still keeping my composure though.
I grabbed out my phone and I pressed twitter, gonna type a new tweet for this relationship thing-y to go faster.
'Having a date with my super, duper hot boyfriend! Guess who.' -(put krisean's twitter account.)
There were a lot of replies, but only several got my attention.
'Is it Harry Styles? You too will look good both with curls <3' - Sandy
'Omg! Zayn Malik? Tell me it's him and I'll kill you!' - Mina
I couldn't help but laugh at what Mina said, getting a confused look from Andrew. I couldn't help it! Why would she think that it was Zayn when he's already taken? That kinda saddens me though. He was first on my list. Enough of the that. And last but not the least,
'Is it your assistant? I heard he's hot.' - E
Who's this E? Gooosh. It makes me get anxious!
I typed in once more before I kept the phone in my purse, 'Oh gosh. Somebody guessed it right. Whoever you are, you're awesome!'
"What did you do?" Andrew asked me, kissing the top of my head.
"Twitter, hun.' I answered. Practically dragging him the rest of the way to the Ice Cream Parlour.
I sat down on one of the chairs, I'm gonna let him order.
"What flavour do you want?"
"Anything you think I'd like." I smiled back, playing with the flowers on the center of our table. I thought this would be fake, every store actually has fake. Well, this is the first time I had gone here, it does look a lot more classy than the others.
A few minutes later, he came back with two tall glasses. Sitting down on the chair infront of me, placing both glasses on the table.
"What's this?" I asked, looking carefully at the green-ish thing infront of me. It was adorned with choco-bits on top, and a wafer to the side.
"Choco-Mint. They said this is the first time they're serving this kind of ice cream, here." He explained.
"And yours is?" I asked once more, now inspecting the light-brown substance in his glass. This one was adorned with brownies on top.
"It's coffee." He smiled, holding my hand on the table.
"Hey, let's take a picture!" I suggested, comfort left me knowing I'm holding my childhood friend's hand. He was about to get his phone from his pocket when I signalled him not to, and grabbed my own out.
I stretched out my arm, the phone on a landscape form, so that both of us can be in it.
I stuck-out my tongue in a wacky form and he faked a grumpy face on and I snapped a shot.
Another one was the two glasses still full. And somebody walked beside our table, "Excuse me!" I called out.
"Yes?" The man said. I smiled at him, satisfied he heard me.
"Can you, uh. Take a picture of us?" I asked, kinda embarassed for asking a stranger.
"Sure." He said, getting my phone that I handed out.
I posed looking out of the window for dramatic effect, and I was thankful that Andrew caught up with what I wanted the picture to look like. Looking at my hand where his was still on, holding it.
After the guy took the shot, he handed me back the phone and asked for me to sign even the tissue. He was lucky I brought a pen with me.
I uploaded the collaged photo in Instagram
'Eating ice cream with my baby Drew!'
and stuffed it back in my bag, not waiting to see how many likes I would get.
When me and Andrew were done eating our ice creams, we chatted for a little. We didn't just eat our ice creams for ourselves, we shared it. Feeding one another once in a while.
The Choco-Mint actually tasted reaaally good. The mint-y stuff in it refreshed my mouth over and over again, making the chocolate taste so good that you can't get enough of it. I craved for another glass but I knew that I needed to watch the calories, crave comes later.
"So, where do you wanna go next?" He asked me again.
"You're not really boyfriend material, aren't you Drew?" I stated, giggling.
"I'm sorry okay!" He said, grabbing my hand and leading me somewhere he didn't said we would go.
The next thing I know, we're standing inside a a Channel store.
"Why'd you bring me here?" I asked.
"I really don't like others staring at you." He stated, the sterness really could be heard in his voice. Sounding like a real boyfriend, pointing to everything of me.
Well, just to irritate him, I purposely put on a tiny black tube dress that ends on the half of my thigh. With a air of gold heels and messed up my hair. I wanted to show how trashy I can be, but I guess it just made my image look bad.
"Maybe you haven't noticed it, but I did. So pick anything you'd like and I'll pay for it." He said, sitting down on one of the benches infront of the fitting rooms.
I quickly took a loose, gray shirt and a lacy white tube. Also black denim shorts that end before my knee, and a pair of flats.
I put it on as fast as I could and gone out the fitting room, "Tada!" I said for dramatic effect.
"You're so cute." He complimented me, showing his toothy grin again.
"Whatever." I said back, my cheeks flushed.
I asked for a paper bag to put my clothes and heels in while he paid for these stuff.
I faced a mirror, tying my hair into a high bun. Completely losing the trashy look.
We walked around the mall, window shopping. Not really wanting to buy anything. Just walking, holding hads with my... Best friend as my fake boyfriend.
It was almost evening when we got to the park, walking - more like goofing - around. People staring at us, others approaching to get an autograph. When we got tired, I sat on the bench and he sat beside me. Placing his arm around my shoulders.
"Why are we doing this?" I asked quietly.
"What do you mean?" He asked me back.
"This... Putting an act up." I said, looking in his deep brown eyes.
My feelings are slurred, everything changes. Am I actually feeling something more than friends would for Andrew? I'm scared...
I know I had a worried face on, but it's no use. I can't hide it.
Suddenly, I felt something warm on my lips for the secondth time in my life. Without anything else to say, I closed my eyes. Savoring the moment.
Then I woke up to reality, I pushed him away.
My head hung low when I said these words, "On Thursday, there's a big chance that we'll get an interview from the Belle show. Get ready... There, we'll say we've broken up earlier tomorrow morning. Let's end this fake act, Drew. Then go back to our normal lives, minus the fact that you're not gonna be by my side anymore."
