Possessive Alpha - Chapter Fourteen
. . .
Blake shoots up from the bed and bolts downstairs and I wasn't far behind.
We get to the basement and Joe, one of the guards, was backed against the wall as if something was holding him there.
"Blake." He choked out.
Blake snapped his head towards the dark corner in the room and once he did, a pair of glowing red eyes looked back at him.
Then finally the figure started to walk into the light; showing their face.
It was an older woman. She had long brown hair and red eyes that slowly faded to brown.
"Who the hell are you?" Joe choked in the corner.
Finally he sucked in a big breath and fell on his hands and knees.
"That's no way to treat a guest." She spoke.
"He asked you a question." Blake growled.
"Oh, and you must be the Alpha. What a pleasure, my name is Lilura. But you can call me Lily." She said.
"Why are you here?" He asked again.
"I am looking for someone and I believe you have him." She replied.
"Who?" I blurted out.
"My son."
"Your son?"
"Chance." She said.
Blake and I looked at each other and then back to Lilura, "You are Chance's mother?"
"Yes. Once I escaped I stopped at nothing to find him. The Alpha of the Ice Falls pack told me that he spends a lot of time here." She explained.
"Follow me upstairs." Blake said, turning around and walking up the stairs.
Lilura and I walked up behind him and he led us to his office.
I walked in last and closed the door behind us.
Blake sat down and looked at Lilura with narrowed eyes, "Where were you and how did you escape?"
"Once the Tie died, I was able to use my magic as I pleased." She started, "I have no idea where they kept us, my locater spell seemed to have been useless and they must have some sort of spell barricading them in there."
Blake raised his eyebrow, "Magic?"
"Yes. I am a witch. I've been around for a long time, how do you think I got inside of your pack house without you being alerted, Alpha Blake?" She said softly.
"Chance told us that there was supposed to be a younger boy with you."
Lilura looked down at her hands, a tear falling from her eyes, "I am in the process of getting him back."
Someone burst through the door and I looked up to see Chance, "Mom?" He asked.
She stood up and hugged him and then Chance looked at her with a big smile, "Where is Owen?"
She pulled back away from him, and frowned.
"Don't tell me..."
"I did all I could do, Chance. But I will get him back." She said.
"But he's not dead, right?" Chance furrowed his eyebrows.
"He was murdered. But like I said, I am in the process of getting him back."
"He was murdered." Chance fell back onto a chair and held his head in his hands.
"How did it happen?" Blake asked.
"Are you really asking me how my son was murdered?" She snapped at him.
"Watch yourself, witch. I'm trying to help you." He growled.
"How at all could you help?" She scoffed.
"I'm the one who mindlinked Chance to get him here. I could have just sent you on your way." Blake stood up from his desk and kept a hard glare on the witch, "If you've been around for as long as you say you have, then you would have heard a lot about me by now."
He began to walk closer to her and his eyes flashed a glowing blue.
"How in the-"
"Get it now?" His eyes shifted back to his regular blue.
"The only Ragz left." She looked him up and down with an unsatisfied gaze.
"Oh, so you have heard of me." He laughed.
"A-a what?" Chance asked slowly.
"Everyone has heard of you. You're a complete unbalance of nature. Thankfully the foolish witch who created you is no longer around." She said, ignoring Chance's comment.
"Like I said, watch yourself. Are we going to get down to business or not?" He growled.
Lilura looked at Blake with a hard gaze but Blake just snickered, "You should know by now that no matter how powerful you think you are, you're not going to do your freaky magic on me."
Blake walked back to his chair and sat down, "Now Lilura, you help me and I'll help you. How's that?"
She slowly sat down in the chair and swallowed hard.
"What's a Tie?" Blake asked.
"They made me create a magical tie between me and the guard who was watching me. That way if anyone broke in and killed the guard, it would kill me as well. They were keeping me on the brink of death so I didn't have the energy to switch the spell. I managed to find the energy to attack the guard in front of my cell. I stole the mixture they were using to keep me alive. When I was powerful enough, I Tied the guard with another man and the rest is pretty straight forward."
Lilura looked down at her hands, "When I got out of the cells, they got ahold of Owen and..."
"Just stop!" Chance yelled, "I don't want to hear any more about this."
"Why were they keeping you there?" Blake continued.
"They were trying to locate you," She began, "They said you had some sort of friendship with Chance. They were trying to hunt him down because he betrayed Dustin."
"I know how we can get your son back." Blake stood up again.
"Bringing someone back from the dead opens a portal to the other side. Any supernatural that has passed, can come through." Lilura said, "The ones who are seeking revenge will be the first to come through while it's open."
"We will just kill them again." He shrugged.
"It takes a lot more power than I have to open a portal like that, never mind try to close it again."
"I know a witch that could help us. Do you want your son back or not?" Blake growled.
"Why are you helping me? What's in it for you?"
"You get your son back and I put a stop to this hybrid making."
"You're lying." She glared.
"Stop it." I blurted out, "Every second you two are arguing, Dustin has the Khalidah and is using it to create some sort of hybrid army."
Lilura raised her eyebrow and looked over at me, "Are you the Blood Rose Luna?"
I nodded my head slowly and she looked over at Blake, "I can see why your parents chose her."
"Nobody chose her. Fate did. She is my mate." Blake said.
Lilura chuckled, "A Ragz can not be mated, that's impossible."
"Clearly it is possible, because here she is."
"Skylar," Someone said behind me, "Who is this?"
I turned around and looked at Danny who was looking at Lilura with a confused expression.
"This is Lilura, Chance's mother."
"Okay... well I need to talk to you for a minute," He said, "Alone."
I followed him out the door and he walked me into a hallway.
"It's now or never, Skye. We need to kill Charlie." Danny said.
"Not yet, Danny. We will have our chance; you just need to trust me on this."
"This is what I've been waiting for my whole life. We have him right where we want him, what is wrong with you?" He yelled.
"I already told you, I trust Blake with this. Leave it be until we get all of the information out of him."
"Well I don't trust Blake. If Charlie isn't dead by tomorrow I'm killing him myself whether I have Blake's permission or not." He stormed up the stairs.
Katlin walked down the stairs and watched as Danny stormed up. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow, "What is going on down here?"
"Follow me." I said, leading her back to the office.
I walked back into Blake's office and they were still sitting around talking and Blake looked up at me. I know he could hear what Danny was saying.
"Skylar, Lilura has an idea as to where this house is located. Chance, Nick and I will follow her there. I need you to stay here and keep an eye on everything while I'm away, alright?" He said.
"Why can't I come with you guys?" I asked.
"These people are trained to kill supernaturals. I think it is in Blake's best interests to keep you alive." Lilura said.
"We want to come with you guys." Katlin butted in.
"No, you are both staying here." Blake growled.
"Let us come." I said.
Blake put a hand on his forehead and let out a long sigh, "Fine, but the three us of need to discuss this before we leave. Go keep yourselves occupied before we decide to leave without you." He glared.
Katlin had a big smile on her face as we both walked out of the office.
Katlin and I sat in the living room watching television waiting for them to finish their talk. I was expecting their talk to be quite long but I wasn't expecting it to be two hours long.
I look towards the office door that was still closed, and narrowed my eyes.
I stood up and walked over, knocking on it a couple of times. "Are you guys done in there yet?"
No response.
I pound on the door, "Blake!"
Still no response.
Katlin walked over to the door and tried to open it, but she wiggled on the door handle and took her hand off when she realized the door was locked.
Katlin backed up then rams her shoulder into it. The door flew open and the room was empty. I caught a glimpse of the curtains swaying in the wind form the open window.
"They left without us, didn't they?" Katlin sighed.
I slowly nod as the anger boiled up inside of me, "Yup."
"Well what the hell are you going to do now?" Katlin threw her hands in the air.
"I guess we'll have to go by ourselves."
"Are you saying to disobey the Alpha's orders?" She gasps, "I like it."
I walk into the kitchen where Ariana sat filling water bottles with powder and water.
"Hey guys." She looked up.
"What's up?" Katlin asked.
"Just finishing up my last job before I can finally relax."
I nodded my head slowly, "Did Nick say anything about where he was going?"
She shook her head, "No. He only mentioned that it was outside of Flare Woods."
Katlin looked over to me with an eyebrow raised, "Thanks."
"Uh, why?" She asked, suspiciously.
I walked out of the room without replying and Katlin followed behind, "Flare Woods is not that far out of town. We can make it there and back before dark."
"We are going to have to make sure Blake and Nick don't see us." Katlin said, "Maybe we should wear disguises."
She runs upstairs to her room and comes back down with some clothing. I pull one of the masks over my head and throw on the over sized black hoodie.
We run outside towards the SUV parked in the drive way and I quickly start it. I look over at Katlin and she nods. I put the car in reverse and speed out of the drive way.
Fifteen more minutes until we arrive at our destination. We were driving down a back road in the middle of nowhere and Katlin looks out her window with narrowed eyes.
"Are you sure this is where they are going? I can't smell anyone." She asks.
"Well this is where Ariana said they would be."
"There!" She yelled, pointing to the right. I slammed on the reals and we jumped out of the car. I adjusted the mask on my face and took a deep breath.
Katlin leads the way and soon enough a small house appeared in the trees.
"They have a barrier up." Katlin whispered.
"A what?"
"A barrier. I can't hear anything inside."
Before I walked over, Katlin sprayed me with perfume and I coughed while swatting it away, "What the hell?"
"Any male could smell you from a mile away, never mind Blake." She said.
We stealthily made out way to the left side of the house; I noticed a low window that was covered by a black sheet.
"They have something blocking the window." I whispered to Katlin.
Before Katlin could respond, the front door of the house swung open, I pushed myself up against the house in hopes they wouldn't see me. Katlin sped behind a tree and peeked behind it.
I heard someone walking on the gravel and chuckled, "I'll be back tomorrow with an update. Gina you're in charge of the experiments while I'm gone."
"Okay, babe." A female's giggle echoed through the trees.
I heard a door close and the sound of an engine starting.
A black car drove down the dirt path and I peeked around the corner to get a better look. In a split second I noticed a pair of eyes notice me from the car's rear-view mirror.
The car halted to a stop and I panic.
A man got out and started yelling and running towards the side of the house I was on.
I sprint to the bank where I saw a field of long grass, I speed over and jump into the grass covering my head, sharp tingles shot through every place the grass touched on my body. I sniffed around and noticed the grass was soaked in vervain and wolfspane.
The footsteps were right in front of me as they scrambled around, "I swear someone was here! I saw them!" A loud voice yelled.
I tried not to make any noise as the vervain seeped into my body.
"This is an open field you idiot, if there was someone running we would see them." Another voice growled.
"They could be hiding in the grass!"
"Jake this is why we were hesitant on hiring you, no one would be dumb enough to do that we have our fields sprayed with wolfspane and vervain. No one could hide in there. Now go to the meet up before you mess this up!"
The man pushed the other man back and I let out a small breath of relief.
I looked up and Katlin gave me a thumbs up from behind the tree.
I stand up and brush myself off, Katlin ran over and picked up my hands that looked all burned up.
"Are you alright?" She asked, "Thats gotta hurt."
"Yeah it does."
"Well we have to go," She says walking back to the window with the sheet covering it. "We are going to have to break the glass."
"That will cause too much attention." I shake my head.
"It's our only choice."
"There could be people in there." I kneel down and try to look inside.
Katlin swung her leg up and kicked through the glass. She quickly pulled away the remaining pieces of glass and she pulled the sheet back and looked in.
"Clear." She said while jumping through.
I crawled in and landed on the floor softly.
It was an office. Katlin walked up to the closed door and put her ear up to it, "There's people." She whispered before slowly locking the door.
I spin around towards the office desk and sit down. I looked at the computer and wiggled the mouse.
"Shit, it asks for a password." I whispered.
"Here," Katlin walks up to the computer and begins typing, "I have a feeling I know what it might be."
I looked at the screen with wide eyes, "It worked, how did you know what it would be?"
"That's a story for another time, hurry up and look on it before we have company."
I start looking through the documents when I hear the door knob start to move.
"Why the hell is it locked?" A deep voice growled behind it.
Katlin grabbed my arm and pulled me into the nearest closet, she closed the door and her breathing became heavy. I peeked through the small crack in the door.
The locked door broke open, "Why was this door locked?" The man yelled again.
This time a shaky female voice came up behind him, "I-I'm not sure."
"Probably that stupid new bitch we hired. Throw her back on the streets where we found her and get a new one," the man complained again, walking towards the desk.
"Yes, I will get right on that." The woman said as she started to make her way out the door.
The man sat down at the desk and yelled again, this time a lot louder, "WHO THE HELL WAS ON MY COMPUTER?"
The woman turned around and looked at the man with fear, "I-I'm not sure, no one has been in here except you."
"I think I would know when I was looking through my personal documents, you imbecile."
"I-I don't know." She stuttered again.
Katlin moved her door and hit something that made a small noise.
"Now that I'm thinking of it." The man said, getting up from the desk and making his way to the closet door, "Maybe they would know."
"Shit." Katlin muttered.
The closet door swung open an the man stood in front with a glare.
Katlin darted out the door and held my arm while she did so. I felt an arm on my bicep as the man threw me back.
I fly back and hit the wall, his eyes burned into mine.
I lifted my leg and kicked him where the sun didn't shine. He stumbled back into the desk and let out a growl.
I pushed past him and made it out the door, I ran towards the front door and noticed two men chasing behind me.
I push the front door open and Katlin was in the car and drove up to the door as soon as I came out. The passenger door was already open and I jumped in, closing it in the process.
Katlin stepped on the gas and we sped off.
I started to pant as I looked in the rear view mirror and a small car came out from the dirt road and sped up to us.
"Shit, they're following." I said.
"Not for long," Katlin smirked, jerking the steering wheel to the left.
She stepped on the gas pedal and we ended up on a highway.
"Holy shit," I caught my breath and checked behind us, "You did it."
Katlin sped down the highway and we got back to Blood Rose in ten minutes flat. We took off our masks and hoodies and threw them in the back of the SUV.
We ran into the pack house, "They aren't here yet." Katlin said.
The faint sound of a car engine caught my attention, "There they are."
I closed the front door and ran towards the living room, Katlin followed behind and we jumped onto the couches.
As soon as we turned the television on, the front door whipped open.
"Oh, back so soon?" I spat sarcastically.
"We have bigger problems right now, Skylar." Blake growled, walking into the living room. "There were two females dressed in black that completely fucked up our entire plan."
Nick, Chance and Lilura walked in behind him.
I glance over to Katlin who looked up at Blake with a believable confused look, "What the hell are you talking about?"
"They were almost caught twice. The fucking armatures nearly got us caught." Nick sighed.
"They were up to something though," Blake said.
"I honestly don't care about your little issues. You guys left without us." Katlin rolled her eyes.
"That's the last thing you should be worried about, Katlin. There are other people after the Khalidah too." Blake glared.
"Get over it, Blake." Katlin stormed out of the living room and I ran after her.
She walked into the next room and closed the door behind us.
"Why are you over reacting?" I whispered.
"Play it up or get caught, Skylar." She raised her eyebrow.
I looked around the room and then smirked to myself.
Sounds good to me.
