A Dream Never To Be Forgotten

I woke up in a cold sweat
From a dream I would not soon forget
You took your last breath in my arms
Why would anyone ever cause you harm
Your shirt was stained with your blood so red
There were so many things I had never said
I didn't want this to be real
It was your pain I could now feel
You squeezed my hand one last time
I would make them pay for their crime
I didn't know how or when
What they did to you was the cruelest of all the sins
They put a bullet in your heart
But now you will have a brand new start
I hope you will spend the rest of your days
Waiting for me by those big pearly gates
