Pain that is
The bitter tange of blood flooding your mouth when you bite your tongue
The numbing pinch of the blade running a slick line across your skin
The shock of hitting a white knuckled fist to the wall
And in the aftermath of the brewing storm
After the dust of your soul has settled and the screams of your mind have seaced
As you stand there , like a stranger passing through
looking through a window
At a display of emotions so intense and potent you could almost , almost, taste.
They flash in eyes that are more often than not glassy and distant
They struggle on lips that are usually fixed in an impenetrable grin
You realize how much of a beautiful thing pain can be
