I lie awake
The late night thoughts always overtake
I hold my stuffed animals tight
Try to keep from making too much noise
The tears stream down my face
I must restrain from the blade
The blade is bad
I am stronger then the blade
I set up my sheet music
Pull out my viola
Try to see through the tears
And I play
I let myself slip into the music
Slip into elegant tones
Everything slips away for the moment
The tears dry
I am me
Only then is when I find myself
