7:45. Crap, I'm late again. Well, I'm not really late. If I leave now I'll still be a half hour early for school. However, my mum will get up in roughly four minutes and thirty seconds. And then all Hell will fall upon me. I try to hop down the stairs while yanking my blazer over my head. Why does my stupid school have uniform for sixth formers? I don't even have time for breakfast. It's my fault; really...I should set an alarm. I guess I'll have to settle for a granola bar. I sigh and head towards the garage.
It's not like I don't have an excuse to be leaving early, anyway. My first year maths exam is this morning at 8:30. People have been getting pretty freaked out about it, but not me. Nope. I'm too intelligent to get freaked out over a little exam.
"Hey Luca," I call to my MI6 agent neighbour as I wait for the garage door to open.
"Lila, I was just over to see you," he says, heading for my house. I hesitate at my car door, hearing my mum pattering around downstairs. I have twenty seconds before she comes to check if I'm gone or not.
"Sorry, buddy. I'm really late for a Maths exam," I shout, hopping into my car and racing out for the drive, down the street and towards school.
