Hermione and I stood in front of Harry.
"If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us, too," I said with utter fear.
"No. Only one will die tonight." Black said.
"It'll be you!" Harry yelled pushing through Hermione and I. He went up to Black and held him in a chokehold with his hands. Harry pushed him to the ground and pulled out his wand. Black laughed.
"Are you going to kill me, Harry?" He said with a smile. All of a sudden the door to the room burst open.
"EXPELLIARMUS!" Lupin yelled pointing his wand at Harry. Harry's wand flew out of his hand.
Lupin moved his head for Harry to move out of the way. Harry scrambled from his place on the floor and Lupin stood over Black.
"Well, well, Sirius. Looking rather ragged aren't we? Finally, the flesh reflects the madness within."
"Well, you'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you, Remus?" Black said from on the floor. Lupin lowered his wand and helped Black up.
WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING?! THIS IS A MURDERER IS HELPING!
He stood up and they hugged each other. WHAT?! Black started muttering something and Lupin talked back.
"Let's kill him!" Was all I heard.
"No!" Hermione and I yelled.
"I trusted you!" Hermione continued. "And all this time... you've been his friend." She pointed and Lupin and said to us. "He's a werewolf! That's why he's been missing classes!"
WHAT?!?!
Lupin walked towards Hermione. "How long have you known?"
"Since Professor Snape set the essay." Hermione replied.
"Well, well, well, Hermione. You're really are the brightest witch of your age I've ever met."
Black seemed to be getting antsy. "Enough talk Remus! Come on! Let's kill him!"
"Wait." Lupin told him.
"I DID MY WAITING!
TWELVE YEARS OF IT!
IN AZKABAN!"
Lupin looked at him and back at us. He looked down.
"Very well." He said with a sigh handing Black his wand.
"Kill him." Black snatched the wand.
"But wait one more minute. Harry has the right to know why."
"I know why." Harry said in a quivering voice.
"You betrayed my parents. You're the reason they're dead."
"No, Harry, it wasn't him." Lupin said.
WHAAAAAAAT?!
"Somebody did betray your parents, but it was somebody who, until quite recently, I believed to be dead."
"Who was it then?" Harry challenged.
"Peter Pettigrew!" Sirius exclaimed. "And he's in this room! Right now! Come out, come out, Peter! Come out, come out and play!"
Good Merlin he's mental!
"EXPELLIARMUS!" Someone yelled. Snape. Black's wand fell out of his hand. "Ah, vengeance is sweet. I hoped I'd be the one to catch you." Snape said.
"Severus-" Lupin said but Snape moved his wand towards him. Lupin backed up.
"I told Dumbledore you were helping an old friend into the castle. And now, here's the proof." Snape said.
"Brilliant Snape.
Once again you put your keen and penetrating mind to the task. And, as usual, come to the wrong conclusion.
Now if you'll excuse us, Remus and I have a bit of unfinished business to tend to."
Snape thrust his wand to Black's neck.
"Give me a reason. I beg you." Snape said threateningly.
"Severus, don't be a fool." Lupin said.
"He can't help it. It's habit by now." Black said with the wand still at his throat. Lupin and Sirius started to fight verbally.
"Listen to you two. Quarreling like an old married couple." Snape teased.
"Why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set." Black said.
Oh, I like him, I like Black.
Snape moved his wand to the side of Black's neck. "I could do it you know. But why deny it? The Dementors, they're so longing to see you. Do I detect a flicker of fear? Oh yes. Dementor's Kiss. One can only imagine what it must be like to endure the. It's said to be unbearable to witness. But I'll do my best." Snape started backing Black into the piano.
"Severus please." Lupin said. I watched as Harry pulled out Hermione's wand from her pocket.
"After you." Snape said pointing to the door.
"EXPELLIARMUS!" Harry yelled. Snape went flying back towards a four poster bed. I stepped back in shock as dust filled the room.
"Harry! What did you just do?" Ron asked.
"You attacked a teacher!" I exclaimed.
Harry ignored us and pointed his wand at Sirius. "Tell me about Peter Pettigrew."
"He was at school with us. We thought he was our friend."Lupin explained.
"No. Pettigrew's dead. You killed him." Harry said pointing his wand at Sirius. Lupin stood in front of his wand point.
"No, he didn't. I thought so, too. Until you mentioned seeing Pettigrew on the Map."
He got the map handed in? AWW COME ON HARRY!
"The Map was lying then -" Harry said.
"The Map never lies. Pettigrew's alive. And he's right there." Black said pointing at Ron.
"Me? It's mental!" Ron exclaimed in fear.
"Not you. Your rat!" Black exclaimed clearly frustrated.
"Scabbers has been in my family for-" Ron started.
"Twelve years! A curiously long life for a common garden rat. He's missing a toe, isn't he?"
"So what?" Ron asked.
Harry replied to his question. "All they could find of Pettigrew was his-"
"Finger! The dirty coward cut it off so everyone would think he was dead. Then he transformed into a rat." Black explained purely pissed.
Ron hugged Scabbers close to his chest.
"Show me," Harry said. Black grabbed the rat out of Ron's hands.
"What are you going to do to him? Scabbers! Leave him alone!"
I held Ron's shoulder to keep him down while Hermione held his other one. Black brought the rat to the piano and continuously shot spells at him, much to Ron's protest. As the rat jumped into a hole, a spell hit him and he was turned into a fat man.
Black and Lupin pulled him out of the hole and set stood him up.
"R-Remus? S-Sirius. My old friends." He made a run for the door but they held him back. Pettigrew turned towards Harry.
"Harry! Look at you! Y-you look so much like your father. Like James. We were the best of friends, he and I -"
"How dare you speak to Harry!" Black said pointing his wand at Pettigrew. "How dare you talk about James in front of him!" They chased Pettigrew to the piano.
"You sold James and Lily to Voldemort didn't you?" Lupin asked.
"I didn't mean to! The Dark Lord, you have no idea the weapons he possesses! Ask yourself Sirius.
What would you have done? What would you have done?"
"I would have died!
I would have died rather than betray my friends!" Black replied.
Pettigrew crawled under the piano and rushed towards Harry.
"Harry! James wouldn't have wanted me to be killed! Your dad, your dad would spare me! He would show me mercy ahhh!" Black and Lupin pulled him off of Harry.
"You should have realized, Peter, but if Voldemort didn't kill you then we would!" Black exclaimed. "Together!"
"No!" Harry shouted.
"Harry, this man is-" Lupin started.
"I know who this man is." He walked to towards them. "But we'll take him the castle."
Pettigrew dropped to his knees. "Bless you boy. Bless you." He touched Harry's leg.
"Get off me! I said we'd take you to the castle. After that, the Dementors can have you."
"In exchange for Sirius since he was accused of acts he didn't commit." I added. Pettigrew started to shudder in fear.
