Chapter 31
Kayli's POV
Someone had to know we were in here. But why wouldn't they kill us directly??
"The final arena death match will be starting in ten minutes!" The overcast shouts.
"WHAT?! DEATHMATCH?!" Rancine screams.
The announcer explains. "When we get down to 10 people, we go into an arena death match, where all the tributes will be lead into an area to fight to the death. If you escape the area, you are automatically slaughtered! That is all, it's in ten minutes. Good luck!"
"DEATH MATCH!?" Darcine roars.
I remember we're in a burning building. The fire hasn't reached the exit yet.
"We won't make it to death match if we don't get out of here! Lets go!"
I grab all of them by a wrist and jerk them.
"We can't stay here!"
Rancine gives me a sad puppy dog face and looks back at Emila.
I drag Emila out with the help of Darcine, and just go to the building across the road.
"Everyone get weapons and anything else you may need. This'll be brutal." I tell my friends.
I grab a dagger, and the nicest sword in the sack.
"The final arena death match will happen in five minutes!"
"We can do this guys. I believe in us..."
We wait until it starts.
"Good luck."
