Hiro stares at your sleeping form, afraid that if he looks away, your heart will stop beating and you'll slip away. He holds your limp hand against his lips; his fingers tracing circles against the top of you hand. It's been like this for hours. He hasn't moved; he doesn't want to move. He needs to be here, to be watching when your eyes open and you look up at him. You'll need him.

The bedroom door opens. Wasabi walks in with a tray in his hands. "Hey. How is she?"

"No change," Hiro says. He shifts his stiff body and leans over the bed. A groan builds out of his throat and he drops his face in his palms.

Wasabi nods. He walks to the nightstand and puts the tray down. "I brought you some food." Hiro doesn't respond. "You're going to have to eat something."

Hiro nods and tears his eyes away from your face. He turns to the plate of food and his stomach growls. Grilled ham, green beans, and a bowl of canned peaches. He pokes the slice of meat with his finger, nearly wincing at the heat. How long has it been since he's had a hot meal? "Do you guys have... generators or something?"

"Yeah," Wasabi says. "We try not to use them too much. You know, draws the dead in. We're the only one left on the block, we think."

"How do you get food? Do you go on runs or something?"

"We take what we can from the mansions around here, but Fred also has taken part in a garden in the backyard. Heathecliffe joined in, and now we've somehow got enough food to last the winter. Which is good, since it's approaching pretty quickly."

Hiro nods. "Yeah, hopefully it won't be too rough." He picks up his fork and cuts a piece of ham. He pops it into his mouth, nearly sighing as the salty taste hits his taste buds.

Wasabi starts to walk out the door. Before he does, he says, "Hiro?"

"Yeah?" he mumbles through another bite of ham and green beans.

"It was me," he says softly. "I was the one that shot her. I haven't been that good with guns, so that's why I didn't get her in the head. I thank God that I didn't. But it was me." Hiro nods, his jaw clenching. "Hiro, if she doesn't survive-"

"She will," Hiro snaps.

"If she doesn't," Wasabi continues, "then you have every right to kill me."

Hiro slowly puts his fork down. As much as it would hurt to lose you, he couldn't. "She wouldn't want me to do that. I wouldn't want to do that."

Wasabi smiles a little. "What is she to you... if you don't mind me asking?"

"She's-" Suddenly, your hand grips the sheet that's under you. Hiro shoots up and leans over your bed. "___?"

Your eyes slowly open. They fixate on the ceiling. Nearly ten seconds later, you start to panic.

"No, it's okay. It's okay!" Hiro kneels down and takes your hand. Your (e/c) eyes land on his. "I'm here. You're okay."

"W-What happened to me?"

"You were shot," Hiro explains. "It was an accident."

You look down at your ruined clothes. With shaking hands, you lift the edge of your shirt up until you can see the gauze wrapped around your torso. You let your head fall back, almost in disbelief. "It hurts."

"I know," he says. "We'll get Baymax in here. Wasabi-?"

"On it," he replies before leaving.

"Are we... are we at that Fred guy's house?" you ask.

Hiro laughs. "Yeah, we're at that Fred guy's house." He relaxes, taking your hand in both of his and pressing it against his lips. He slides his hand up and down your arm. "You really scared me, princess."

"Sorry," you breathe. "I'll try not to get shot again, okay?"

He chuckles and kisses your fingers. "Okay."

You move up and groan. "It hurts so bad."

"Take it easy," he whispers.

"Yeah, easy," you breathe. A grin spreads across your face.

Hiro shakes his head at you. "What are you so happy about, princess?" he asks, a laugh leaving his lips.

"We're here," you answer. Tears prick at your eyes. "We finally made it."

"Yeah." He smiles and caresses your cheek, catching a tear on his fingertips in the process. "Now you just have to take it easy and get better."

You nod your head. "So, when are you going to save the world, genius?"

"Not until you're better."

"Hiro-!" you start to protest.

There's a knock on the door. Hiro looks over as his friends step inside. "Hi," Honey Lemon says softly. She smiles warmly and moves to the foot of your bed. "Glad to see your eyes open!"

"Uh... hello," you greet awkwardly.

"Oh! I'm Honey Lemon. This is Go Go, Fred, and Wasabi." They all wave and smile. "We're all very, very sorry about what happened."

"Oh, uh... it's okay-?" you ask, fidgeting in awkwardness. What were you supposed to say to the people who shot you? You weren't mad, but it was just... weird.

Go Go pulls Baymax to the right side of the bed. "Baymax, scan her."

"Scanning now - scan complete." Hiro holds your hand tightly as he lists what will make you feel better.

"Thanks, Baymax," you whisper.

Honey Lemon leans down and pats your leg. "___, if there's anything you need, just call us in."

"Sure. Thanks," you reply.

Fred steps up to you and hands you a bowl of chicken broth. "It's not much, but it'll fill you up without making you feel sick. You've got medicine in your system now, but you'll probably have a fever off and on for a couple of days."

Your stomach growls. Hiro helps lift you up and the gang steps out. Your hands are shaking as you try to lift the spoon up. Cheeks burning and teeth gritted, you try your best to keep the liquid from splashing around.

Hiro patiently smiles and sits on the edge of the bed. He takes the bowl from you. "Let me feed you," he says.

"No," you protest. "I'm not helpless."

"Princess, I know that you're not. Your body just can't handle a lot right now." He lifts a spoonful of the broth up. You clamp your lips shut and shake your head. "___..."

"No! Hiro-!"

He grabs your chin and smashes his lips against yours. He kisses you passionately before pulling back. "I love you," he says. He opens his eyes and kisses your nose. "Please."

You sigh and look away. "Fine. Okay."

Hiro raises his eyebrows. "And-?"

"And?" you ask, shaking your head.

"You forgot to tell me something," he says.

Your eyebrows furrow together for a moment. When you realize, you smile. "Oh. I love you, too, Hiro." You place your hand on his leg. "Thanks for sticking around with me." He grins and lifts a spoonful to your lips. You take the broth. "You forgot to tell me something."

He chuckles. "Tell you what?"

"I don't know, something like... 'thanks for not dying'?"

Hiro glares at you and shakes his head. "Not funny," he mumbles, dipping the spoon into the bowl. You take another mouthful and laugh.

"Sorry," you say. "Just tryin' to lighten the mood a bit."

He smirks. "I know. I'm not mad, princess. Just happy that you're okay." He kisses your head. You suddenly yawn. Hiro puts the bowl on the table and helps you lay down. "Get some rest, ___."

"Don't leave," you whisper, your eyelids heavy with sleep. Your hands grab at his sleeve desperately. "Please, I'm scared-! W-What if I die while I sleep and come back? What if you open the door to check on me and I attack you!"

"Princess!" he says calmly. "Calm down. Nothing is going to happen to you, I promise." He covers you up and takes your hand, tracing circles against your arm as you fall asleep.
